D2: DKS uses the Gamebyro engine like the Elder Scrolls games, so it's not surprising.

D2: DKS is also the most underrated Action RPG to come out in the last 5 years.

Oo, Im almost done D2: DKS, the Ego Draconis part. Just came back from the halls of echo, and now to free some dude under the city i think lol.

Lol, I actually haven't played it in a while. Too much Broken Crescent, VtmB and New Vegas.Lol.

I'm only part way through the Ego Draconis campaign, still in Sentinel Island. But it's definitely one of those rough gem games that fly under the radar. Bit like Risen. Damn them Euros.

:P

Oh my goodness, Skyrim's shiny new Creation engine does look especially orgasmic.

Isabella's boobs bounce at least. Developers worked real hard on that I bet.

Lol.

Really?

They couldn't find a way to keep the killing blow animations yet they made Isabela's boobs bounce?

Vault Boy approves.

Yep. They bounce alright. Wish that "attention to detail" was diverted from ****** to something that needed it more. <_<

Something that I find more telling is that in the OP the visual quality of Skyrim and the Witcher 2 are rather close, both got some gripes by they look like they belong in the same generation - while DA2 almost looks to belong with Morrowind when it comes to visuals.

So sad seeing how weak DA2 looks compared to two of its betters. (visually anyway).

Indeed I always get the feeling DA 2 was rushed out to ensure  it didnt come head to head with the Witcher 2. Bowstrings not a game breaker for me by any means but just another watermark of laziness.

Wow didn't notice the lack of bowstring since I never had an actual archer in my group.
How lazy can Bioware get with this game...

Also pls look at oblivion and introduce swordsheats... they add a lot of atmosphere....

Yep; those tiny white lines are kinda nifty. I often have plenty extra; well, until I dust....

I think I have more of a problem with no sheaths than I do bowstrings. Seeing weapons and Fat bows stuck to players backs is just terrible looking and as a modern game just wrong.

Yeah, I did notice, and it annoyed the daylights out of me. In both DA:O and DA 2. I like archers.

Archery is my hobby in RL. So I like using it with my pixel people.

Although I usually have to tweak it. A lot of pleople don't seem to realize the damage a well placed (single) arrow can do.

That was one of the enjoyable parts for me in DA 2. The archer finally made an impact.

Bowstrings weren't visible in DA:O either though. So it's just one more aspect where DA 2 failed to improve over its predecessor, but at least it's not one of the aspects were it was actually made worse.

BioWare games were never renowned for their graphical brilliance though, BioWare always had other strengths. Unfortunately, they didn't concentrate on them for DA 2.

This is great.

So they thought this would be important enough to include into the game, but not bowstrings? I think this is a bit sad.

bowstrings clip in to your hair, that totally destroys the immersion of that semi-interactive, or noninteractive, cutscene you are totally immersed in right now.

Perhaps the bowstrings were sent elsewhere:

Or does this warp too many hate-filled sensabilities?

There was already "breast bounce" implemented for Desire demon in DAO. They just extended it to animation skeleton for all female characters in DA2, it's much simpler work.

Duh! I keep forgetting about this. Thanks for the reality check Kayness. Varric, Varric. What have you wrought?

Wait! But there were no strings in DA:O either! Oh dear, now I'm confused again....

I can almost bet my life Skyrim will have around 60 different bows to get. Some which are enchanted and have particular powers/percentage/duration/distance. How many bows can one acquire in DA2?

Bowstrings are serious business
