I'm having an issue with the override directory on my version of the game that doesn't seem to effect everyone. Specifically it has to do with using .mao files to add transparency to Isabella's "a" armor. I can get that effect to work on other armor pieces, such as Merrill's "b" armor (where I removed the chainmail collar), but when I try the same thing with Isabella's and try to alpha out any portion of the texture, it does absolutely nothing.
I thought for a while that it was a problem with the mod I was making, either I got the texture wrong or the .mao wrong or something, but then I downloaded someone else's mod (NSFW, but it's called the "DA2 Tnt Isabella Armor" mod) that apparently worked just fine for him and many other people, but that mod didn't work for me either, the textures worked fine, but the alphed out portions he had in there were completely opaque on my copy of the game.
My tech specs are that I'm playing the PC version (1.02) on Windows XP SP3. Pretty much everything else works fine about the game, including several other mods, and also including the one I made for Merrill's armor, it's so far just Isabella's alpha channels that are not working right on my computer where they do work on others.
The tech specs for the mods in question are that both his and mine were packed .erf files that contained the art/characters/playercharacter/humanfemale/textures tree, with the edited .mao file in the "human female" directory and the edited d, n, and s files in the textures directory. The same style of .mao file worked fine on the Merrill armor to allow alpha transparencies, and apparently works on the Isabella armor on other people's computers, but for whatever reason not on mine. Also, for the record, I did trouble shoot this a bit by removing all other mods from the override except for this one, and that didn't make it work either.
Any suggestions?
Override directory flaw?
