Too lazy or cheap to build more, I guess.

Why not both?

Don't forget they spent 1/4 of their budget on advertising.

You gotta give Bioware credit though for creating the first city with a crimerate of 96%.

too many cities will confuse the player so we streamlined them into one big city

I thought Kirkwall was the whole point of DA2.

By limiting us to one city, it's surrounding landscape and the reused quest areas the game forces us to take an internal journey of personal growth and discovery. I discovered that it doesn't matter how many times I play my Hawke always beds Fenris. This says something about me I'm just not sure what that is yet. Maybe if I play through a few more times I'll unlock my seventh chakra and transcend to a higher plane. That and as 101ezylonhxeT so eloquently put it. The Order Dictates!

You're easily pleased.

Hey Bioware! This is what you thought the rest of your Audience was like? Well guess what? That's the minority! The Majority is way over here still scratching our heads over DA2.

Tbh if they put that amoutn of effort into one city how lame would they have been with 2? Kirkwall is bland dull uninteresting and seemingly populated only by weird looking elves the occasional dock hand and ninja thieves/smugglers/slavers. IF they had given us starkhaven aswell for example... what sort of ghost towns would we have ended up with?

And yes im still confused as to where the lightsaber came from did one of the old republic developers get lost one day during development?

We fought in Lothering, and it burned to the ground.
We fought in Redcliffe, and it was nearly razed by a demonic horde of undead.
We fought in Orzammar, as it tore itself apart in a political war.
We fought in Denerim, and soon it was destroyed by the Blight.
We fought in Amaranthine, and *I* burned it to the ground.
We fought in Kirkwall, and it sucked and deserved to be razed.

.......everyone around me dies Q.Q

I can't see it.
Morrowind a game of 2002 had a few cities that felt as big as Kirkwall and felt alive thrice as much as Kirkwall.
Ok maybe that had to put effort into it to built Kirkwall in time but that quite the wrong kind of effort.

I agree with this. Biggest employer in Kirkwall seems to be banditry with 76% of people finding employment in it and very good second slavery with 20% of the people.

Not sure if God had anything to do with it. You'd think he'd have more important things to worry about. Like whether Liberals will finally win the War on Christmas or not.

It was a design choice. That's all.

Killing a pack of bandits = just another night shift for Ser Donnic.

Day is not complete until I kill me some street scum!

Why does this game only have 1 city?

that was the geographic scope for the story we wanted to tell in this game.

80% of the quests are fighting inside the same city map over and over. LOL.

Incorrect, and hyperbole.

Since people prefer to be sarcastic rather than engage in constructive discussion in this thread, I'm shutting it down.

End of line.
