Oblivion received tons of GOTY awards when it came out, so it's likely if that Skyrim sticks to a simila formula, it will also receive lots of accolades. I really didn't like Oblivion until it was heavily modded, but lots of people do.

As for my GOTY, with Mass Effect 3 officially off the table, I'd have to say that the main players are Skyrim, L.A Noire, Portal 2 and Battlefield 3. Witcher 2 may pickup an RPG of the year type award, or a GOTY from an RPG centric site, but it's unlikely to win too much critical praise.

I agree with my Arch-Nemesis MrKrustyBurger.

If there's awards like the Razzies, I'm sure DA2 would pick up a tonne there.

Only because you don't wear a funny hat. Anyway there are a ton of contenders out there, and my personal favourite will be Portal 2.

Well if DA 2 does win GOTY, then it's obvious that the Reptilian menace is controling the ballots. I would then be God's representative on Earth, but I sadly I would lack the power to do anything. Honestly, God claims to be all powerful but has a history of only using prophets and saviors as scapegoats so I'll likely end up mobbed by the Reptilians and eaten. Outside of rubbing my feet across carpet and shocking people with static electricity, I have been given no Godly powers yet.

They may as well remove the Most Underwhelming Sequel category, since it seems that a majority of vidja games nowadays are just sequels.

And somehow, even with people knowing exactly what to expect, some companies screw them up.  Badly.

Who knows.

But if you want to know Stanley Woo's opinion, it's something along the lines of "not the best game ever, not the worst game ever."

Which really narrows it down. Being more specific than that would be a point of semantics.



I am inclined to think that the "not bad, not great" type of opinion would be prevalent amongst many Bioware employees though.

I do not have any doubts that DA2 will not be even dominated for 2011 GOTY. Many of you are forgetting one game that has been in works for almost 4 years now and being released on May 17 is the Witcher 2, that can be an excellent candidate along with Skyrim.

I am sure you all heard that ME 3 has been pushed to 2012, so that if they live up to the expectations will most likely be GOTY for 2012.

It would be a strange thing to happen. But with what I've seen around the "professional reviewers", I wouldn't be all too surprised. All I've learned is that to never, ever trust a "professional review" ever again. I'll stick with well written, logical user reviews, thank you all the same.
