Nah, we shouldn't talk about ME 3 at all before everyone has played it through at least twice.

Speculation is great

Thats what they did in 1, they had a 'casual' outfit for wear aboard the Normandy and the armor you equiped them with for combat

That's completely true but I just don't see anyone using tight leather suit as casual wear when relaxing from battle.

How much of the outfit have you actually seen?

Besides, people don't wear leather clothing in 2011, why would they in 2185?

I'm sure she will have shorts on and I always browse these forums in full leather suit. Makes the experience much more.. real.

Yes it is.
If they can completely change the character of one of the most loved companion, they are sure to do other hideous stuff do.

Good God. Not only is this armor stupid it's completely OOC?

We don't know if its armour yet. I still don't like her new look at all but I don't think bioware is going to be that silly.

How do you know ashley's character has been changed? You know nothing about ME3, you have no idea if thats even her, hell, GI may have gotten it wrong, you have no idea of the context of the picture, its completely foolish to jump to conclusions on something you have limited knowladge on

It's hardly irrational.

When we were
first shown Miranda and Samara prior to ME2's release people complained
about their catsuits and how ridiculous they looked, however after a
while the fans reached a concensus that "Marketing is just keeping them
in 'iconic outfits' so casuals 'won't get confused', and that we'll be
able to dress them in armour in the actual game"

This was not the case.

Instead
we were forced to have our companions stuck running around in
heels, skin-tight latex outfits and nipple-straps with their ******
hanging out.

Now the marketing for ME3 has begun and one of our
first screenshots is of a fan favourite (well known for her
appreciation of thick armour) being presented with her hair out, her
breasts enlarged and her armour replaced with yet another skin-tight
catsuit.

I think it's perfectly justifiable for fans to be worried.

Okay? Another forum user is on your side, congrats.
After the alternate apearance packs, it was obvious that BioWare responded to fan complaints, and rectified the issue. They wouldn't do it again

Only because they noticed that everyone where interested in it and they could get more money from it.
I bet they do the same in ME 3 too.

I wish you are right, I really do, because I dont want to see breather masks, high heels and space boobs in ME anymore.

But still, worries are perfectly normal in this situation.

Worries and expressing concern fall under speculation, which as i said, is great.
Burning ME3 at the stake from a single picture with no context half a year before release is what irks me.

Worried yes. I’m worried too but there is no point in getting that uptight about it yet.
Also Miranda, Jack and Samara are all biotics. That doesn’t excuse their outfits but there is a difference between giving a biotic (and they have always used light armour) unpractical armour and giving a soldier who it would be very OCC to not wear armour a suit. This is just one screen shot of her and she isn’t in combat. Also with all the complaints about the armor in ME2 and the more recent alt appearance packs I think bioware might be listening.

What else can we do really when this kind of stupid stuff is the only thing we see about the characters. It's just shows that bioware is ready to sacrifice old characters in the altar of overseuxualization.

That is what we like to call 'jumping to conclusions'
Its what happens when we assume that something is going to suck when we have no information on it in the first place.

How do you know its OOC did you create Ashely? Just cause it doesn't fit your preconception of Ashely doesn't mean it's out of character for her to dress and look that way if she feels like it. The dev's over at Bioware know her better then the players do and know what a character  would and wouldn't do or what they would and wouldn't wear. While I agree that Jack's base and Samara's base and alt outfits seemed unpractical. Jack's alt outfits don't seem as out of place. and Miranda's outfits don't seem out of place to me either.

Of course Bioware has the final say on the matter but their final say doesn't necessarily mean good or logical character development.

Bioware does listen, I have said that many times and brought up evidence, if we are lucky they are listening now too and there will be alternative outfits from the beginning with even more outfits later on

that^ and the other times she makes refs to big guns and/or armour
She is also a frontline soldier, not a tech or biotic. Tech or biotic = light armour that isn't as heavy and is easier to move in. Soldiers = heavy or medium armour. Ashley is not a light on her feet kind of fighter. She isn’t going to be flipping around the place like Thane or Kasumi.
And no it dose not fit her persona either.

Yes it's a quote from ME 1 that took place over 2 years ago in the ME universe, that doesn't mean it would be OOC for her dress the way she is in the screen shot. People can change or show more sides to themselves over time just cause we didn't see the side of Ashely that likes to "let her down fully" in ME 1 and ME 2 doesn't mean it's not there.

I don't like her new look and I think she looked much better before and we don't need anouther Miranda. I don’t necessarily think it is OOC as a casual off duty outfit only. Just cause she is a marine doesn’t mean she doesn’t like to feel sexy or take time on her appearance blah blah blah. It is however OCC as armour unless she go shot in the head, lost all sense and did a 180 .
