No there in fact wasn't, you are correct, but and I say But This is ME3 and Bioware could have learned from their feedback from ME2 and are now going back to ME1 casual and combat.  If you and many others read more from that GI article Bioware said that they wanted to go back to a more heavier RPG game desgin like how ME1 was designed.  So my suggestion to all of those who already decided that the game is done and ready to be sold tomorrow to wait till more pics come, more videos, and even E3.  I'm sure we'll all be surprised and all this ranting over one pic can be laid to rest.

Bioware already released DLC armor for Miri due to negative feedback on her outfit. I doubt they'd go down the same path again.

All I can say is the best we can hope for is to agree to disagree with each other I have my opinion and you have yours. I personally don't think it's out of character for her but you do.

So what you're essentially saying is it's impossible for a character to act out of character?

Nah Kaidan's looking pretty badarse

Strange he's the one who gets the heavy armour though...

That what Ashley should be wearing! What the heck. Did their armor got accidently switched or something?

I just don't get why Everybody is so
negative about this suit?! I mean we know nothing NOTHING about the
context of the picture yet. Only Bioware knows at this time and they
are keeping it secret. What if that's her suit she wears before being
romantic with us on the Normandy, Or it could be her casual wear while
on the Normandy. Just cause she looks more feminine doesn't mean
anything. Personally I LOVE the change. It makes her look ten times
better, Seeing the picture makes me happy a few of my Shepards romanced
her. When I first saw the pic I figured she became less of a tightwad
not that her whole personality changed and now she's "Miranda 2.0" that
is ridiculous to base all this argument over one, ONE pre-game photo
that just might be concept art!

It doesn't make sense even if it is casual wear or something Ashley wears in romanctic scene. It's way too uncomfortable looking for casual wear and not doesn't really look "sexy" enough to wear before action(undressing that must be also a pain in the ass).

I'd have to agree. Bioware recognizes that companions without armor plating (as I have always argued, Miranda's catsuit is probably made of metal-dipped polymers that would provide some protection, so she is wearing armor, just very little in the way of ceramic plating) is a problem for many of the fans. This is why they gave Miri her own version of the Cerberus Assault Armor in DLC. Ashley is also a pure "Soldier" class character, so I'm sure Bioware also realizes that giving her less armor than Kaidan's new look would make no sense whatsoever.

Ashley is a soldier through and through. She should wear armor even if she is no longer with the Alliance. This is just a sad attempt to make her "Sexier", by having her wear a tight body suit. I'm willing to guess, that she will get a few "ass" shots much like Miranda in ME2.

Chris L'Etoile wrote Ashley and unfortunately he has left Bioware.
Seeing her appearance and knowing her writer is gone makes me worried for Ash's character in ME3.

I guess it's good I saved Kaiden..

Ugh, is this true? I think my hope just plummeted even more. I can only pray that the new writer isn't complete douche and change her whole character entirely to please all the horny males here.

Stencil your screen with a black marker at boob-height or petition Bioware for a burlap bag DLC in ME 3 if Ashley turns out "Mirandized" in your opinion. Problem solved.

And you obviously don't recall the whine threads on "hyper-curvasious" female armors in ME 1. I do. Yours is a complaint as old as there have been Bioware games.

So you want me to just let this rest than pay money later for DLC that should have been already in the game for Ashley? Really? Now that's just sad...

That's what most developers been doing for past couple of years. Just make couple of idiotic choices for main game and release $5 DLC fix for it within month or so and "ka-ching!". Saddest part really is that the players praise them for doing this kind of thing.

I know, it's a sad thing. This new generation of gamers has such low standards when they come to expect from Developers. I remember how games used to be... Than things went global via internet and now games are releaxed heavily bugged, content withheld, or things that should have been in the game added later at a premium.

they said the same about NG+ being implemented in DA2.....

I'm sorry but no dev confirmation on something as basic as Casual vs Combat apparel is never good

Well this is all sad that you all hate just one small aspect of the "possible armor". I'm just gonna wait till more info comes out or the game is released and then I will enjoy whatever I get!

I would like it if that was the outfit you saw her in at first but when it came time for her to join you in a fire fight (maybe on her recruitment mission) she hits a switch to open a hidden compartment in her apartment with armor and guns to suit up.

BioWare doesn't disregaurd its fanbase, they threw in the alt. apearance packs becaus people didn't like the catsuits and nipple belts, they aren't going to make this her only outfit. please stop accusing and condemning them for something you have no information on.

I definitely won't pay money for things that should be in the main game already. Just saying that "they're sure to release DLC for better armor!" is just stupid.

I also think that is part of the problem. Instead of adding alt costumes in-game at launch they will make DLC for something that many people like to represent with this symbol >$<. Not sure what it means but I think people say that when someone tries to exploit a problem by constantly coming out with fixes that require >$< they call it something that goes by the name of GREED. I'm not against DLC or anything but repeating a past mistake and planning to add DLC later to fix it just seems like them being greedy. But making money is how a company stays in the bizz so I guess I can't really blame them. Money is power as the say.

But then again it may not even be her final armor and they may actually have more in-game appearance slots for your guys. Didn't one of the interviews say something about more customization? Wonder if it was including customization for squadies? That would be nice. Image IPB

*EDIT* and the above post said it alot shorter than I did.

Could you please highlight the point where i said that thats what they're doing for 3? no?
I brought up the point because they realized in 2 that people prefer utility to sex appeal, hence the alt. appearance packs. they wont forget this, they aren't stupid. This will likely be her casual appearance, a situation-specific appearence, or one of multiple outfits she wears. Have you ever considered that putting her in her combat outfit may be a spoiler? What if the rumors of the VS being a spectre are true, and her combat armor has a spectre logo on it?
