BioWare doesn't disregaurd its fanbase, they threw in the alt. apearance packs becaus people didn't like the catsuits and nipple belts, they aren't going to make this her only outfit. please stop accusing and condemning them for something you have no information on.

I definitely won't pay money for things that should be in the main game already. Just saying that "they're sure to release DLC for better armor!" is just stupid.

Could you please highlight the point where i said that thats what they're doing for 3? no?
I brought up the point because they realized in 2 that people prefer utility to sex appeal, hence the alt. appearance packs. they wont forget this, they aren't stupid. This will likely be her casual appearance, a situation-specific appearence, or one of multiple outfits she wears.

I'm hoping for that but they did a LOT of money from the alt. app. packs. I don't think it's beyond Bioware to abuse that and do it again in ME3. Games are business you know.

Have you ever considered that putting her in her combat outfit may be a spoiler?
What if the rumors of the VS being a spectre are true, and her combat armor has a spectre logo on it?

Then why did they show Kaidan in armor? It's not hard to remove logos from them.

A business that depends on consumer satisfaction. It's also an art, and something they devote their lives to for years, the wouldn't mess it up for the sake of money that they probably wouldn't get

Maybe Kaiden's doesn't? and why go throgh the trouble of removing them when you have a perfectly good screenshot that doesn't need doctoring?

And could you stop with the "Bioware is sexualizing women" rant? it's poorly founded on the superficial and makes you look a tad ignorant. not saying you are of course, just throwing it out there.

"Probably wouldn't get". But they probably would get their money. It has been shown again and again that people buy these things. Recent DA2 item set is apparently selling well (at least judging from the comments) and it's completely ridiculous.

I just don't see Ashley ever using that kind of outfit and removing logo isn't more than 15 min job.

But they are sexualizing women. When men run around in sensible and realistic armor we have women prancing around in fetish leather suits. Apparently now we have also the most sensible women of them all doing exactly the same.
It's either retardness or oversexualization and I know that Bioware ain't retarded.

Probably wouldn't get as in driving away fans. not a good long term goal.

Men run around in sensible suits?
Jacob-some jersey jumpsuit thing with as much padding as Ash's new look (also several scenes when jacob takes his shirt off, sexualization?)

Thane- Wears a jacket and pants with as much chest exposed as Samara

Its all superficial. You're taking what you see as the basis of the character, but if you analize the character at all, you realize that they're to well written and complex to judge on such an irrelevant level.
Tali-sexualized? no
Liara-sexualized? no
Kasumi-sexualized? no

Could also point out Zaeed and his armor which doesn't seem to cover his arms completely.

Tali-Sexualized?  The girl runs around in fetish wear!  Every Quarian is sexualized.
Liara-  Your right,  she's not...
Kasumi-  Haven't really seen her.

Well you got point in Jacob. He had ridiculous outfit.
Thane is assassin though and he's outfit is just little bit ridiculous.
Liara is an Asari. Whole race is oversexualized.
Tali was also sexualized from the beginning. I don't think anyone can count the amount of "dat ass" she got. We didn't even see male quarian in ME1.
Kasumi is pretty much the same. She's a cute japanized (or whatever) girl in tight clothing. I always thought of her as fanservice really.
Then we got Miranda and Samara. There isn't a single ME2 female companion that wore sensible armor or clothing.

NG+ my friend

best feature in the game for me.

NG+ (or lack of it) is also the reason I did not buy DA2

As I have said before as long as she wears a full helmet during intense environmental conditions I am fine with the outfit. It reminds me of some sort of futuristic operative suit sort of like those worn by Raiden in MGS4, the ghosts in Starcraft, or the assassin temples in Warhammer 40K. If she is indeed a Spectre now it would make more sense as she has access to the latest and greatest in military engineering and would need something highly mobile and concealable as Spectres are more military spies than they are riot police.

Bioware already released DLC armor for Miri due to negative feedback on her outfit. I doubt they'd go down the same path again.

I hope so. As I’ve said before I really don't think bioware is going to be that silly as to make her wear that in combat. I still don't like this so far but I don't think it’s her armour and its not necesarily OCC based on what we know of her if it is only her casual.

Kaidan who is a biotic/tech and Garrus who is a sniper get armour but Ashley who is a Solider and a straight up fighter gets a suit? She is not going to be floating or throwing herself around the place with biotics like Samara or Jack. She isn’t a ninja stealth based, agile light on her feet kind of fighter like Thane or Kasumi. It would make about as much sense as giving Thanes suit to Zaeed.

Spectre =/= spy. Nillus, Shepard, Saren, Tela Vasir all wore armour. I wouldn’t make sense for them to 180 on Ashleys whole approach to combat in the 2 year gap.

After the back-n-forth on this thread, I distinguish between the hardsuit nerds who have a legitimate grivevance nerd-wise. May their softcore version rule the hard vacuums.

As to the dour feminist busybodies, who object to the ME 2 aesthetic, due to the demeaning sexual "objectification", apparently caused mostly by Miranda, I say...*shrug* ....ok.  Image IPB

i agree with this man

until you realize we were told to "be patient" about ME2's apparent lack of customization, about DA2 being COMPLETELY set in Kirkwall and nowhere else, about the thermal clips and so on and so forth

sadly "be patient" is always translated as "if we comment on this you will get pissed so we are gonna stay silent"

oftentime that happens to be the case lately so....

and at this point and time Marketing and branding are all over the devs telling them what to and what not to say so we are likely not going to know much about this until much later

Funny how you say that when 'she can wear whatever the hell she wants' is armor from what he know about her background and her appearances in ME1 and ME2. Thus wearing a catsuit in battle? It doesn't fit her because it was established in the past 2 games and her background history that she wears heavy amor into battle.

I for one hope they don't show a double standard here and give Kaiden armor while Ashley is forced into being Miranda 2.0 which goes against her established character.

Doesn't matter wether you think it fits her character or not.... Bioware made her, not you. If they want to put her in a catsuit, so be it.... I really don't care.
As long as she still has her sassy personality from ME1, then it's fine with me

Don't bother with it doesn't matter if it fits her character Bioware made her thing, I've said that repeatedly in this thread and aparently I'm dead wrong for thinking it.

What I think? You mean what everyone KNOWS about her character if they've played ME1 and ME2? Now you're just grasping straws and it's patrhetic. This was neer about what people thought since Bioware is the one that made Ashley, they were the ones who had Ashley say the things she said, and they were the ones that gave her that background/attitude.

You may have low standards in what to expect but I always expect Bioware to do the best it possibly can. That's the different between us. You settle for medicority while I settle for Greatness.

That's why you're wrong. You 'think' that you're right while everyone that wants armored Ashley 'knows' they're right because Bioware established Ashley in ME1 and ME2. Catsuit Ashley is a huge retcon if it goes through since it doesn't fit the established background that was created from ME1 and ME2.

Go back and play ME1 and ME2. Maybe you'll learn a thing or two and understand why fans aren't pleased with Catsuit Ashley.

Man, what a way to waste 19 pages guys.

"Clap........Clap..........Clap"

Good, my slow clap processor made it into my computer.

Seriously, you are complaining about a single image in a single magazine article 6 months from release and you've done it for 19 pages.

You know that you will buy the game regardless, you know that you disagree with Ashley's look, and others know that it doesn't really matter.

Guess what people? Miranda's appearance was sexualized to hell and back but did that affect her personality? Did she behave like a femma fatale like the devs said she was? Did she try and make Shepard a sandwhich while he played on the galaxy map? Was she, for all possible avenues of description, an exploited woman? No, she had the most fire out of the entire cast. Her personality was hardly affected by the chauvenist camera angles and body suit. In fact, they often disagreed with each other.

I take wisdom from a great man. This man once said that he had a dream that his children wouldn't be judged by the color of their skin but by the content of their character.

Even if Ashley now looks like that all the time and that she takes that suit into battle it should not matter so long as her personality is the same old Ash.

That's my two cents. Feel free to carry on your rather pointless debate.

I applaud your zeal though...

"Clap..........Clap"

Good that still works.

That's right, only you. You're not Bioware, get over yourself. So I guess your 'Greatness' is having Ashley destined to be stuck in pink/white armor till the day she dies? What's so great about that? They're not allowed to make any changes at all?
Please... you conclude so much from half a bodyshot, it's pathetic.
Not all fans are displeased with her new look. Are we(& Bioware) all mediocre now just because you say so?
