I want her looks to be changed back to the way they were. She can let her hair down, but I can do without the plastic surgery.

Okay, dude, slight facial changes as graphics improve are just part of the territory, I don't say it often, but in this case: "Deal with it."

Other characters have seen a lot worse in that department. Ashley's face is basically unchanged.

You're saying that:

is an improvement on http://social.biowar...063/album/1461/http://social.biowar...063/album/1455/, or http://social.biowar...063/album/5828/?  Really?  I'm sorry, but I can't help but see her as dolled up and made to be some kind of competition for Miranda.  Deal with it?  One of the few representations of a strong, non-supermodel type but beautiful all the same woman who is changed over to be similar to some engine room ****?  I can't - deal with it, sorry.

I agree with the above post...Ashely has been a becon of light and beauty in an endless sea of boreing oversexualized/ ****y looking women in video games, movies and pretty much every other form of media. While it's true men are as well I don't really hear men complain about men all looking buff and bad ass...whereas you actually see women complain about how they are portrayed, therefor it is a bigger problem. This had better be eaither a temporary look or changed at once because I find this unaccetable and altogeather unessasary since she already looked fantastic. Whereas now they simply want her to be Miranda 2.0

Aside from the hair, her face really doesn't look all that different.  Whether wearing her hair down is a major departure or not is of course a question we can ask.

The outfit, however...

Yeah, let's hope she wears something heavier into combat.

Sadly, too many ME fans will never think that a human woman is beautiful unless she's wearing a Cerberus cheerleader outfit and has strategically placed camera shots whenever she assumes an titillating stance (which is whenever she isn't in combat).

Are you sure? It might just be the hair and the angle, but her face looks much longer and/or a bit narrower to me than in ME1 (Never had her survive to ME2 yet, so can't compare to that).

I'm saying that it's more or less the same damn face, just a little different. Which is kinder than a lot of other characters had to deal with, as graphics upgrades have come coupled with faces that not even slightly resemble their previous incarnations.

Combination of make-up and facial expression. It's really not that far off in terms of facial characteristics.

The way her hair frames her face may contribute.

Anderson, Kaiden, and Ashley basically used the exact same facial models in ME2 as in ME1, but from the look of the images all three have had newly-constructed models for ME3, so some facial discrepancies may occur.

It may be no more offensive than the medium armor she starts out with in ME1, you know. We haven't seen a full-body shot yet, so I think people are jumping to conclusions a bit early.

True, but we have seen the top half of the outfit she's wearing in that picture.  It is...not encouraging... From what was shown, it looks a lot like a blue version of Miranda's outfit.  Thus talk of Miranda 2.0.

I've been assuming this is the outfit she wears to the trial, not her combat wear. Hackett tells Shepard to put on his dress blues for it, so why wouldn't Ashley wear non combat attire? I'm going with that until proven otherwise.

@ Nathan Redgrave -- I have no problem with sexy outfits or Miranda wearing her cheerleader outfit since she admits that she uses her looks to give her an edge, but that still doesn't excuse the fact that whenever she was simply talking to Shepard she'd assume some cheesy Playboy pose to make her behind stick out followed IMMEDIATELY by the game camera zooming in and locking onto her butt.

Although Ashley's outfits in ME1 were form fitting, she never "assumed a position" for the camera, nor did the camera remain stuck to her butt or breasts for an entire conversation. We got to see Ashley's naked posterior in ME1, but that scene didn't scream "mentally 13-year old programmer."

It may be, and it may be just one of many alternate outfits, but if anyone at BioWare reading this is open to the possibility of doing so, consider this:

When Sucker Punch introduced a new design for Cole MacGrath that went completely contrary to what the character was percieved as, and the fans raged, Sucker Punch saw the error in judgment and replaced his new design with an upgraded re-design of his old look. If Ashley's outfit is a bit too light for fans, you may consider, perhaps, making her default appearance more armor-centric, and keeping the jumpsuit look on board as an alternate outfit. Everyone wins and the work put into creating the new outfit doesn't go to waste. What say ye, BioWare dudes/dudettes?

EDIT: Last I checked my character info, my Charm stat was all maxed out and my Paragon meter was all full up, so read that last bit as theYOU MUST OBEY dialogue-wheel option. :wizard:

Then again, the camera didn't really like to do much of anything in ME1 most of the time (face shots and more face shots, occasionally a big cutscene with some decent camerawork, then back to the face shots...), so that may just be collateral damage rather than an intentional display of culture.

To be fair, part of the idea of Miranda's character was that she had a perfect body...  They just wanted to make sure you noticed.

Ashley's character has been established, and while she could be flirtatious in ME1, I don't see them putting her in a catsuit and pulling playboy poses.  I am far from cynical enough about Bioware to think that. :)

I noticed she doesn't have the perfect body.

Well if they decide to stick with Ashley's new, unattractive look, I'll hope someone comes up with a texmod for her face because I can't look at that thing anymore.

This is also a possibility.  However, I always assumed the Alliance "dress blues" resembled the uniform worn by Pressly or Anderson (while still a captain)  Jacket, gold braids, and such.

Is it a crime to say that she is improved? There's no real difference other than the hair(which I think looks pretty good).
She's not gonna be another Miranda... relaaaax. Have a little faith and patience. Stop being so negative.

It still doesn't explain why the first shot of Kaidan is with him in armor but not her.

I'm pretty sure women don't wear armor in the future anymore, it is replaced by sex appeal and boobs of steel.

I know everyone has seen it before but I still like posting it.  ^_^

What I like the most about it is that she still looks like Ashley, the same fresh face just with her hair down in a casual moment.

Well since the VS has basicly become a one in the same identity...lets compare their outfits...

Image IPB

Observe Kaiden actually wears something that can protect him and not exposeing his rock hard abs to the world. Not to mention aside from the beard he's basicly the same...which is good...

Image IPB

Whereas this outfit appears to protect little to nothing and exsists only to make her look "sexy" along with that horrible make-up job. Not that any of this matters...Bioware isn't going to care about what we say on these forums anyway...AT BEST we'll get an alternate outfit in a DLC that will make her look decent again because most outside the forums are drooling over her with buckets under their chins which means Bioware isn't going to change s***. Aside from that I doubt the ME devs even read these threads...cuz they sure a hell don't post in here or make comments like the DA devs, which to me ='s they don't really care about our opinions since this forum is the minority.
