I've been assuming this is the outfit she wears to the trial, not her combat wear. Hackett tells Shepard to put on his dress blues for it, so why wouldn't Ashley wear non combat attire? I'm going with that until proven otherwise.

That's actually a very possible and rather interesting thought. I certainly hope it's the case.

Except we know what "dress blues" look like: the stuff the higher ranking officers like Hackett, Anderson, Kahoku, and Mikhailovich wear. You know: dress uniforms, not some jumpsuit with a zipper?

Well since the VS has basicly become a one in the same identity...lets compare their outfits...

Observe Kaiden actually wears something that can protect him and not exposeing his rock hard abs to the world. Not to mention aside from the beard he's basicly the same...which is good...

Whereas this outfit appears to protect little to nothing and exsists only to make her look "sexy" along with that horrible make-up job. Not that any of this matters...Bioware isn't going to care about what we say on these forums anyway...AT BEST we'll get an alternate outfit in a DLC that will make her look decent again because most outside the forums are drooling over her with buckets under their chins which means Bioware isn't going to change s***. Aside from that I doubt the ME devs even read these threads...cuz they sure a hell don't post in here or make comments like the DA devs, which to me ='s they don't really care about our opinions since this forum is the minority.

Hohoooo they did a 'miranda' on Ashley! I agree about the 'armor' though, I had that issue with Miranda's clothing as well. Though, to be fair, shields are quite  a large part of combat protection, that's why I think Miranda gets a way with her outfit – "barely" (pun intended). But I do really like her new haircut, she seems more mature to me for some reason – almost wiser or something. I for one like her new look a lot. Is that because I'm a man or because I actually have an argument or two? Or both? I don't know and I care even less. I just hope there's version of her that doesn't hate aliens.

Normally I wouldn't look at this as too big a thing, since this looks a lot like medium ME1 armor to me. Thing is, Ash specifically mentioned liking her sturdy armor so I'm hoping this is a non-combat outfit. Looks kind of like armor, though, huh?

Is this definitely Ash? I didn't see the original captions. All this argument is for nothing if it's Sarah. And is this game rendering or concept art?

Yes GI said it was...besides...you can tell it's her if you just remove her hair with your hands near the picture and just see her face. Besides medium armor isn't as bad as this...why? theres actual armor plates on medium armor...theres one on the shoulder and aside from that it's Miranda's lolspandex with a bust that looks about 3 cup sizes bigger.

"I prefer my big, sturdy armor...and a big gun..."

I can barely recognize Ash underneath all that makeup and Miranda-influence... I like seeing her with a new haircut tho.
Here's to hoping her personality is still the same, but seeing as Chris L'Etoile left... yeah...

Note: I *adore* Miri. Seriously. I now have two "canon" Sheps simply because I couldn't pick one over the other, but Miri's Miri and Ash's Ash, I don't understand why we need two of the same.

All what makeup?  The only difference is that she's got a little eyeshadow now.

I can still see her with that outfit in court. That is to say, I believe it would fit just fine.

That's interesting, because that's about as much as most of the armor in ME1 appeared to protect. And before you get all "But Ash wore heavy armor!", no, she didn't. She wore medium. You could upgrade her to heavy if you so chose. ME2 seems to pretend nothing lower than Heavy ever existed, but you get my point. This is no more or less revealing than what she started with.

Uh, when?  You referring to the "tinfoil miniskirt" thing?  'Cause that's not what that means.

In one of elevator rides.

"Kaidan: Those Asari commandos are impressive. Lightly armored, but their speed more than makes up for it.
Ashley: Unless that speed lets them outrun bullets, I’m more inclined to stick with nice solid armor and a big gun.
Kaidan: Point taken."

So that thing what she wears is ridiculously ooc.

^I don't remember Ashley having armor in ME1 when on Normandy.

So this hints that squadmates will have outfits on Normandy and armor outside of Normandy in ME3, like we did in ME1.

Um no...just no...medium armor actually had solid plates of armor and lacked a skin tight zipper...whereas this is just a leather jumpsuit...and btw...on Virmire shes in heavy by default...regardless of settings or armor loadout. Your also mistaken as that woman in the Blue Suns in the Archangle mission wears medium armor...I guess you wasn't paying close enough attention. Kaiden also wears medium armor and lets not forget all the comrades who had no armor what-so-ever...so yea...not sure where you got "ME2 forgot everything under Heavy armor" from. It's more accurate to say "ME2 forgot about female heavy armor except for Ashley" and has now abandoned female heavy armor alltogeather in favor of more "sexy" and skintight outfits that offer zero protection.

The new Ashley looks much much better. I'll take Miranda, Samara and Jacks uniforms over anything in ME1, by far.

Um...the poster asked where Ashley says she wouldn't wear make-up or dresses. The question had nothing to do about her choice of armor. It's relevant because some people made it sound as if Ash wearing make-up was OOC.

As for the armor, when I actually see a full body shot of Ashley's armor, I'll comment on it.

Oh, did she? My mistake, I guess I should slap myself for not remembering the one grunt that wears something other than ME1 heavy armor with a different logo pasted on.
Kaiden also wears medium armor
Ironically now wearing heavy. "What, did somebody switch our files or something?"
and lets not forget all the comrades who had no armor what-so-ever...so yea...not sure where you got "ME2 forgot everything under Heavy armor" from.
Referring to ME1 armor. You only ever saw Shepard's old armor style once, and it was the heavy version (ironically, I don't actually remember ever having a heavy version of the Onyx N7 armor in ME1, myself). Every time I see a mook up close, it's heavy armor they're wearing. Except for the one exception you mentioned, I suppose. And Kaiden, I guess. I just mean to say that everyone seems to go heavy. Never seen a single instance of ME1-styled light armor.

At one point she references her "weirder" sister's odd choice of dress and says "Does great things to her figure, though." With a view like that, it's not out of the question that she'd dabble in sexy fashion from time to time if the mood struck her.

As for the armor, when I actually see a full body shot of Ashley's armor, I'll comment on it.

^ Pretty much this. If she's not putting her bubblebutt on display, then she's not Miranda. Believe it or not, that stuff she has going on with her shoulders is still more armor than Miranda's ever worn outside of AAP2. If her bottom's in line with what light/medium armor showed in ME1, that'll actually be an upside, as Heavy Armor rode up your bumcrack for no apparent reason in that game.

Huh. I guess the reason I never noticed is because you rarely see them up close enough for it to matter.

After all Ashley wearing armor or not doesn't make sense if we still see tights-leather-or what ever uncovering suits as well, because I bet if we have Miranda in that catsuit and if Ashley were in heavy armor, they would last as long in combat anyway. Probably Ashley could have a bit more hp or damage reduction.

But hey I like Miranda's catsuit

Miranda being a tech/biotic sort of person, her wearing light armor is understandable. Non-standard light armor, 'tis true, but she's not military either, so to hell with regs. (Actually, what Jacob wears seems to be Cerberus-issue light armor as well.)

It's also possible that she's discovered the merits of supplementing a light, manueverable outfit with heavy kinetic barrier protection. Perhaps she played ME2 on Insanity and realized that even uber-heavy armor is ineffectual and it's the shields that do all the work anyway? Ah, who the hell cares.

Alternately, maybe she's learned to put more faith in her natural padding.
