Just seen there's a mage, rogue and warrior pack been released.  Does anyone have any idea what's included in these packs?

Seems to be 400msp for all 3 or 240msp if bought separately.

seems it's weapons, armour and items for both you and your companions. They didn't have a description earlier. So that answer that question.

Might buy it if it allows you to change the look of your companions, but i'll hold off until a more detailed description comes out.  NOT!

Gotta love EA and their micro transactions policies.

This is... curious? And puzzling. I've not even seen any DLC announcements or advertisements yet. Usually thouse come before any release, no?

Still, an item dlc? I'm dissapointed. I was (still kind of am) hoping for a story dlc with companion interaction continuity intact.

Companions? If that's true, then all I can say is:

Thank goodness I'm on a PC and can get the "Equip your Companions" mod, or I'd be really, really irked.

Maybe it's a good thing I'm no longer playing DA 2.

Wow, give away ME2 for free to DA:2 purchases but charge for cheap armor and weapons, that made me laugh, something is wrong with marketing, seriously.

I wondered about this too - they have a rushed product in DA2 and they must have known this because I don't believe them to be completely blind, yet they held off content content so they could release two DLCs, one of them containing story content and a character, and now a third (albeit weak one).

If they actually had packaged all three into the title from the start people would maybe be a bit more leanient towards DA2.

And I for one judge the game on the Signature edition without the Exiled prince since I have no reason to buy that at all, nor will I get these trinkets.

LOL, you beat me to and I am glad I didn't rub it in (though I know that's not your intention). Seriously, console gaming can be a really good expereince, but Sony and MS really treat them badly (as do the devs) when they release DLC like this by purposefully gimping what should be a normal RPG feature, then pawning them off as an upgrade. Yes, creationism has its uses in the PC modding world, but God isn't looking out for the consolers, if that's any console-lation to them.

:wizard::crying:;)

Well, this is not the mission/companion DLC I was hoping for. I suppose the dreamed-of more-companion-dialog DLC is not coming this month ;)

That's why console games are what they are and the devs know that. For example, when Oblvion came out on console, it was just a matter of a few months before three DLCs and the Shivering Isles expansion came along and altogether cost more than the actual game itself combined. Not only that check this out: Oblivion can be gotten on Xbox.xom for $29.99 (still overpriced when one can get the PC GOTY edition for like $15 now). While there, scroll down and you'll see the Shivering Isles expansion selling for 2400 MS points, that's $30 for those points and the game is over 5 years old now.

Amazing!

Wow, Tommy, I didn't know that the console gamers were milked that way. I'm sorry to hear that, talk about being taken advantage of.

And no, I didn't want to rub anything in. I figure, if they come out on the consoles, the PC stuff-pack isn't far behind. I could be wrong though. I know next to nothing about consoles. I only have the Wii.

And a big LOL @ EJ.

I didn't mean to sound THAT snarky. I wonder when this DLC is going to be announced -- probably in a few hours. I also wonder if it will be available for all platforms. I can't see actually buying it, though if it gives Fenris and Merrill shoes, I may consider it.

Edit: I probably sound pathetic, but I would pay $3 for a "Kiss the LI in their home" DLC.

Not wanting to get into a console vs. PC war here,

I agree with Tommy. It seems to me that console players are less vocal and don't seem to frequent the forums as much. Due to this, I believe that game developers and their publishers are less hesitant to produce things like this item pack for consoles. Can milk the console base without fear of forum retaliation. Wonder if they assume the modding community will do it on PC platform, where the console players do not have that ability.

My awesome button is worn out from DA2. No items warant a further investment from me.

I think almost everyone that uses LIVE is fully aware how over priced Games on Demand is and to that end, those games don't sell in huge amounts.  Almost every week this conversation crops up on the offical forums and every week everyone agrees only a moron would be taken in by it.  I like to think of it as a place where games go to die.

That said, MS aren't alone in doing this as i think almost all digital media is overpriced when you consider it's a fraction of what's included in the full game and when you also consider there's no packaging costs, shipping costs, pressing costs or middle men [retail outlets etc] digital media in no way or form represents value for money.  It also has no sell on value whatsoever.

I suppose devs know this is where the real money is and until people stop buying it en mass, it's never gonna change and from a buisness pov, why should they stop it?

Weeeel. I did get pranks DLC for Origins after a few people posted about it because Sten's butterfly sword, Shale's pigeon and Zev's Chastity belt were just too funny to pass on. It was a good laugh.

Generic item dlc? Not my cup of tea, though I can't blame the company for attempting to generate more profit. After all, Item dlcs for Mass Effect appeared to be popular.

And yup, despite my dissapointment that this isn't story + companion interaction dlc, I didn't really expect one so soon after the game release. It's just that after the writers occasionally hinted and teased that they'll adress Dragon Age II dlc in different fashion and that companions stories aren't done yet, I got my hopes up, and seeing yet another bioware item dlc put a dumper on my mood.

Why not? They've already went there many times before. Check out ME2 DLCs. This is probably the equivelent of the Firepower Pack.

Yea but ME2 didn't get that much hate as DA2 did.

I hoped I didn't have to see them go there with DA2... because it very well may mean that they have zero intention of giving us a toolset for PC ....   maybe they will in time, but ....  money grabs are just so...so...... ugh.

:?  If so, I am very unimpressed.   None of the emoticons are emo enough for this lol

Guns in ME2 weren't exactly something you would swap out for something better in a few hours.
