I bet the only people that will buy this pack are the retarded, blind fanboys on this website, because no one else will even think of buying this piece of crap.

I hoped I didn't have to see them go there with DA2... because it very well may mean that they have zero intention of giving us a toolset for PC .... maybe they will in time, but .... money grabs are just so...so...... ugh.If so, I am very unimpressed. None of the emoticons are emo enough for this lol
I'm actually surprised. I thought the DLCs in DAO that at least gave gear for a reward, while it didn't give me incentive to buy them, is a better idea than just, well, selling the gear.

Why not? They've already went there many times before. Check out ME2 DLCs. This is probably the equivelent of the Firepower Pack.
Not to mention Mass Effect 2 was a success.

I didn't mean to sound THAT snarky. I wonder when this DLC is going to be announced -- probably in a few hours. I also wonder if it will be available for all platforms. I can't see actually buying it, though if it gives Fenris and Merrill shoes, I may consider it.
Edit: I probably sound pathetic, but I would pay $3 for a "Kiss the LI in their home" DLC.
Not pathetic. Just desperate for what we used to get as a matter of course - namely PC - Companion/LI interaction in satisfactory amounts. Used to be normal, now players have to beg, and/or pay extra for it.
It's a good thing I don't buy DLC on principle (no DLC from any company). Or else I'd be upset
I usually just watch someone play through them Usually that's plenty enough for me.
I agree though. That makes it look pretty bleak for the toolset. I hope I'm wrong...
If there is a toolset in the background waiting to happen, I might even try to play again.

Wow, give away ME2 for free to DA:2 purchases but charge for cheap armor and weapons, that made me laugh, something is wrong with marketing, seriously.
That's why console games are what they are and the devs know that. For example, when Oblvion came out on console, it was just a matter of a few months before three DLCs and the Shivering Isles expansion came along and altogether cost more than the actual game itself combined. Not only that check this out: Oblivion can be gotten on Xbox.xom for $29.99 (still overpriced when one can get the PC GOTY edition for like $15 now). While there, scroll down and you'll see the Shivering Isles expansion selling for 2400 MS points, that's $30 for those points and the game is over 5 years old now.
Amazing!
I think almost everyone that uses LIVE is fully aware how over priced Games on Demand is and to that end, those games don't sell in huge amounts. Almost every week this conversation crops up on the offical forums and every week everyone agrees only a moron would be taken in by it. I like to think of it as a place where games go to die.
That said, MS aren't alone in doing this as i think almost all digital media is overpriced when you consider it's a fraction of what's included in the full game and when you also consider there's no packaging costs, shipping costs, pressing costs or middle men [retail outlets etc] digital media in no way or form represents value for money. It also has no sell on value whatsoever.
I suppose devs know this is where the real money is and until people stop buying it en mass, it's never gonna change and from a buisness pov, why should they stop it?
Yep, that's true and I really do feel for the console gamers, because I really like playing on consoles, I just gave up well over a year ago and went back to PC. RPGs just don't feel right on them, but all other genres work well on console. Since RPGs are my real love in gaming, well, this is where I am. Sad too because I can make my own mods or get them and I don't pay a dime. If the devs would be reasonable in what they offer in quality and quanity, not this piece-meal stuff for $5 a hit, I would give them their due, but not at those prices and the amount of DLC I would get.

The point, kinda missing it. You can blame the success of things like the ME2 packs for seeing them here. No one should be the least bit surprised about Alternate Appearance packs when they show up either.
As for the swapping out in a few hours... who knows? I'd be surprised if the items didn't have the autoleveling feature of the Fadeshear. They'd sell more that way. Though personally, if it were my decision, I'd give the packs out free to all Black Emporium owners. Make it like the Cerberus Network.
And if they really want to take success lessons from ME2, they'd be wise to make their first adventure DLC of Shadow Broker quality.

For now the only DLC that I'd consider worth a buy would be lair of the shadowbroker that's a pretty sad record.
Agreed, and of all of the DLC I have bought for Origins and ME2 and ME, only LotSB was the best purchase. Two others were OK, Leliana's Song and Return to Ostagar, but the rest I felt liked I was sucker punched. But anyway, what most are talking about here is this DLC that allows for upgrading ally armor function in DA2, giving the abilty to cahnge thier armors. that's jsut plain cheap, IMO.

And: Who the **** is going to buy this when the game itself is selling as badly as rotten eggs?

With that out of the way, nobody is actually forcing you to buy them, just as it was with the Alternate Appearance packs for ME. Those who want--and can--will buy them, those who do not--and cannot--won't. Do try to deal with it. Or continue crying yourself a river.

Undoubtedly, it is harder not to have a toolset, but the mods are doing fairly well. I have seen mods make some really great stuff for consoles, but PC are far easier. You can even add texture and object to certain console games. Even DA2 has a stat modder for the 360.

According to the above, this pack has "unique looking items for just you" while "your companions get accessories that lvl up with them" (we already know how to do this on our own, thank you very much). By "accessories" I take it he's referring to things like rings, belts, or amulets, if so, it seems a waste.

Bioware "went there" when they started stripping away obvious parts of the original game like BE and Exiled Prince and released them as DLC's when the game came out.

You know if a company don't waste time making DLCs, they could be making a god damn expansion pack or a sequel or even patches. This is the same as mulitplayer in a meant to be single player game. You would have to use ressources for something not everyone would appericate and risk alienating others, put most importantly taking away features that was in the single player drawing board but have no time or resource for because of mutiplayer.
