That's true Night.
I didn't know that consoles had static hardware, how ignorant is that? I always assumed that because they were able to go on-line that they were somewhat PC related.
I did know that there would be little to no modding, but I thought it was because of an inability to change the disk-hard drive interacting.
But when it's all said and done, wouldn't all the additional money that the console players have to dish out add up to getting a decent PC?
Yeah, I know. Shut up silly woman. I'll go get my coat now....
I think the Xbox 360 is basically a Tri-core PC type set-up, and the PS3 has some 7 core type thing in it, I have heard that its very easy to dev games for the xbox, but not so much for the PS3, not sure about the Wii, I head there is a new Wii coming in 2012, do you actually play yours lol?
You can mod the consoles with flash drives and certain PC programs, but if you get caught doing it you can get a console ban and cant go online with it:>
I honestly think its more about convenience with the consoles, PSN network is still free so its not so bad I suppose, Ive had an xbox 360 since 2005 so Ive got my money out of it, its been in for repairs 4 times, MS is good about it, they just send you a a newer one, and the warranty is 3 years on them haha
I couldnt imagine using the same PC for 6 years, I guess thats the only real reason for having a console, I just ordered some new fans for my PC for TW2, Im running an AMD quad-core and I dont want to burn the house down lol

Consoles get firmware updates but that's about it if I remember correctly? Although now that they have external add-ons/ upgrades like extra HD space that may no longer be true (I'm so out of the loop on them since the last one i got was the PS2) o_0
You are correct, the consoles get firmware updates for things like 3d compatibily, new dashboard layouts, security updates etc:> I have 3 HD's in my xbox 360 slim all running at the same time:>

Features 3 follower items,
Since I'm too lazy to go through the thread,
Is this alternate outfits or just weapons or accesories?
If they are outfits, can someone post pictures?

All three. Each pack features two armor sets for hawke, weapons and accessories for your companions. And I some posted pictures. You'll just have to be less lazy and scroll back about three pages or so. (actually page 7)

Yeah, my Wii is mostly for the kids, but it's also absolute fun for get-togethers. Watchig people trip all over themselves while playing it is hilarious. Not that we're drinking or anything...
I've played Harvest Moon, Zelda, and Animal Crossings with them on it, and true enough, it does not need the upkeep a PC does. (and no, I'm not admitting I had fun playing those games, and you can't make me
My primary PC is a laptop of all things, and it's getting on in years. But it still manages to play most of the games I love. Strangely enough, of all the b!tching I did about DA 2, I had no glitches or bugs (except the one everyone had, that quest, you know).
Yes, I bought it for ~ $ 1000, but it has served me well for 5 years now. Sadly, it can't handle FONV because of ram shortage, but still, for a grandmom of a PC it is serving rather well. It most likely won't be able to handle Skyrim, and that makes me sad. So $ 1000 vs $ 400 does sound like the more cost-effective method.
Why on earth they would punish console gamers for trying to mod their unit is beyond me. But I guess that logic has little bearing in today's business world - customers? We have dismissed those claims -.

Nope, didn't say that. But I think it is a major mistake for the first DLC to be this one. I do know that by the time a different one comes out I will have stopped caring. Didn't Bioware say the worst thing that could happen was not for fans to criticise them but for those fans to stay silent and not caring any more? Well, they just got one big step closer to that. There is only so much bull**** I will put up with before I move on.Maverick827 wrote...
So the existence of this DLC means we will never have "meaty story driven DLC," ever?Evainelithe wrote...
Considering I'd have to actually play DA2 again to make use of the item pack, I think Bioware...YOU should be paying ME.
After all the constructive criticism (see constructive criticism thread) and the not so constructive criticism elsewhere on these forums and other places on the net (and there has been lots of that and you know it), the last I expected to see was an attempt to further nickle and dime your customers. I expected to see at the very least a meaty story driven DLC to make up for the lack of it in DA2, not THIS. Bioware, are you truly this out of touch with your fans?
This^ and in my case, I already moved on as I don't care anymore for DA2. It sickens me that they release this DLC, yet in DA2 there are so many armors, amulets and rings, that if they could be listed in taxonomic terms, it would make a cladistics evolutionary graph of 250m years of evolution look small. Yet, I cannot equip my companions with any of those armors that already exist in game and therefore, they feel more tacked on than in any game I have played before. Now, they want for us to pay for more "tacked on".

I do agree to a certain extent that such DLC is just milking the consumer, but the price is no more than a cup of coffee from a coffee shop... if the price was higher I'd probably object....

Oh hi Toof. It is rather funny, isn't it? I've never seen anything like that lion-thingy-armor. It makes all this implied Orlesian feather boa and fancy stuff seem rather bland.
Birds in a hair-due? Eat your heart out! You've seen nothing yet, Leliana.
There be lions. This is Kirkwall!!!
Seeing the one armor set, maybe they got the idea from this:

"We, who are about to pay, salute you"

Plus the modders are far ahead of Bioware, despite the lack of a toolset (when is that coming btw...). I can get equally cool armour for free, and soon I will probably be able to use these DLC armour's for free in some mod as well. Do you know anything besides releasing cool DLC-items these days Bioware? It would be refreshing to see something else.
DAO didn't have any DLC items released after the game had come out (except for feastday pack and that was only gifts) why do you feel DA2 needs them so badly?

edit: Non-robe mage outfit added. Very nice looking in game.
I actually love the mage 'robes' in this item pack. They're probably my favourite part of it. The early-game one just seems perfect for Act 1 Hawke (un-magey, mercenary-style armour for hiding) and the later for Act 2 Hawke (semi-swanky noble-styled robes). I will be using both of them, frequently. The staff is kinda nice too.

Because it is easier to make clothes and accesories than story based content.
Let me know when I can do something other than go to the BE with my end game save.

I don't think it is punishing console players for the mods of the kinds you think are being used for is what happens. Using a mod to improve a game item, or increase your abilities is not that issue, after all they already paid for the game and you can delete your saves, why not mod the stats of the save. The mods that WILL get those banned for life from their online accounts are those that use hardware bypasses that alllow for pirated or copied games or content to be played on consoles, since console have a pecific pieces of hardware in them to detect then through DRM already built into the hardware, it isn't difficult to override. I personally modded Fallout 3 on my 360 with no issues.
But, if I modded DLC that was from another account to work with mine, or release something already in-game that needed a purchased code to use, then that would be it. Another type of mod, not bypassing hardware, is to change game files where if you play online in some multi-player role that gives you a definitive advantage, will most definitely get you banned.

Those Wii games can be fun, my daughter plays Harvest moon games all the time and loves em, you better get a new PC/Laptop before Skyrim comes out, you dont want to miss out on that!! Why dont you build yourself a cheap gaming PC, mine was only about 700 bucks after I was done:>
Tommy made some good points about the mods on consoles, I do play some Call of duty and other shooters on XBL, and its the people that put on god mode or super jumps etc in online multiplayer that get console banned, its against the terms of usage.
You must have bought a really good laptop to get 5 years out of it, Ive got a couple ones that are older like that but I cant go back to using them after having a quad core PC, plus my hands are too big for those tiny keyboards lol

No way!!!!!!! The change to the outfits was purely an artistic design choice to make you better connect with your characters. Even hinting that it was partly made this way so that they can sell future outfits is lewd, lascivious, salacious, outrageous!Fruit of the Doom wrote...
I bet the only reason you can't change companions' armors is so that you have to buy "Costume Pack" DLC.

Yes, and I applaud Bioware for making the brave decision to recycle dungeons, textures, and models so that they could fill the game to the brim with thrilling side-quests such as recovering lost pantaloons and collecting crystallized fecal matter!
