Sorry, not an announcement or anything like that,

I was wondering, As it will be pretty certain that Com. Shepard will be on the ME3 cover to the game, do you think it would be a good idea for Bioware to release a variant femshep edition?

Since there is obviously a big following for the female version of Shepard i think this variant would be most sought after, and would also be a fitting tribute to the work of Jennifer Hale, who i feel is sadly overlooked when considering the previous promotions and advertisements for ME & ME2

just a thought...

no because theres no real set femshep face and its not the popular choice

i wouldnt want another femshep on my cover anyways, rather just stick with the normal dude than some new fake woman

Yes there is.

Default Face is the set face for any of the Shepards.

Cover is irrelevant to me, I will likely get the digital version anyway.

But it would make no sense to display anything else but the default male Shepard, considering this is the last game of the trilogy, and he's been the face since the very beginning.

No because male shep is the face of the Mass Effect Series and as much as people may cry about it, bioware won't do that, because there is nothing to gain from making extra covers. Why incur extra cost of production and design time(not that it would take much to put default fem in) when people will still buy the game even with the male shep cover.

???

I'm not expecting her to be on the cover, but perhaps on the back of the case? I still don't know who the hell these people are on the back of my ME1 case. One looks like an Asian Sheploo, the other is wearing Ashley's armour but not her face, Garrus is wearing orange armour with neon lining, and a bunch of other species not even in the squad.

I hope the cover doesn't feature the player character at all, guy or gal. ME2's collector edition looks much less generic than the regular edition.

I could totally rock a FemShepEdition as like a preorder or signature edition option. Still not sure who that dude on the ME2 box is supposed to be.

Only online on Mass Effect/Bioware forums. The majority play Maleshep, just like they all play soldier. People need to learn that those who voice their opinions on ME here or on other forums are the vast minority of players, and marketing to those people is pointless, as they will likely buy it regardless. Marketing is aimed at casuals.

No, because a woman can't be a galactic hero.

It wouldn't be fair to the first two games if only the third featured a FemShep cover. It's a neat idea in theory but a bit too late to start showing her off in the marketting.

The only marketing I need for Femshep is: Jennifer Hale cast as Shepard.

That's already confirmed, so, Sheploo it up all you want. I've already bought the game.

I would love a femshep variant cover, but there will be snowball fights in the firey pits of hell before that happens.

Nope.
Commander Shepard Male Edition is the commercial face of the game. A lot of us play custom Shepards, a lot of people play Female Shepard, most of them Custom Female Shepard, so the basic FemShep Cover would still be meaningless.
Also, they'd have to make some serious research on how many of these covers shall be made, how shall they distribute them, etc, so it's more work than satisfaction gained.

Why pay a female face model when they already have a male one? And only for the last game? Sure, I would support it, but if they would do it in the end it would only be becasue of FAN SERVICE FAN SERVICE FAN SERVICE

I respectfully disagree, Leonia.

FemShep is no secret; just about every fan knows she exists. As such, raising her bar is never too late. I think ME3 can definitely make up for the past and actually bring FemShep to life this time around, no matter how far into the trilogy we may be. Something as simple as featuring her on the cover would go a long way.

Took the words out of my mouth.

Didn't ME2 have a collector edition with just the N7 cover? That was great, but since I don't care for all the stuff bundled in, I didn't go for it.

I'd prefer a no Shepard cover. And this time, we should not be stuck with Sheploo artwork inside the CE box, either.

This. Why pay for female model when those people who actually care will buy the game anyway.

I prefer that kind of cover as well, though the ME2 CE did have Sheploo concept art on one side of the accompanying case.

Sounds like a good idea to me, keeps everybody relatively happy.
