Please Guys, who is responsible for those awful Haircuts available at the Char editor? I mean im not really so much into Styles and haircuts and things like that, but the available Styles remind me of a bad US-TV-Soap rather than a dirty dark medieval fantasy World. Almost every Haircut looks (awfully conservative) overdressed with tons of Gel or little curles everywhere. Come on! Maybe a mage would look like that after years at an Academy, but a Fighter or a rogue, stained with blood and mud and sweat would definetely look different than that. At least my Char would. So please, where are the chaotic dreaded woolish styles, the iroqois-punkish spikes or the metalhead manes? I thought this was supposed to be an adult game, leave me alone with that teeny weeny Highschool crap! And dont tell me to create a mod for that, if I am supposed to pay Money for a game, I dont want to program it myself!
Cheers!

I don't really like the hair styles either but if you don't buy a game because you hate the hair styles then you're petty sad I have to say.

So bad hairstyles = highschool, never knew that...

There weren't any hairstyles for the male PCs that I really liked, but it is what it is.  You can't make everyone happy.  I would've liked to give my PC hair like mine, but they don't have a hairstyle that runs a foot and a half down, that isn't in a pony tail.  I want my guy to look like Conan I guess.  Oh well, I guess I can hope that they will add hair, nose, eye, other feature options later on.  I know that we will get some player mods for this stuff as well.

I will play either way, but I would like to say that there were 3 options for uncle jesse hair from full house.  Does dragon age take place in the late 80s/early 90s mullet era?  Why am I the last to know about these things?  :P

You can always just buy a helmet and jam it on your head to hide it.

I thought this was going to be a realistic fantasy based on medieval Europe. Where the hell are the lice animations, I ask you?

Do you know how many people have coveted John Stamos' head?  Now you can make your own Stamos!  (And have you seen him recently?  His hair is still pretty epic!)

I didn't know Ninjas sucked your blood..wait...maybe I misunderstood...

On topic though, I didn't think there was much variety in the hairstyles either..but they work well enough for what this game is...I think they probably fit the setting well....

Some of the chick's hairs weird me out. Some of them involve braids that must be made of locks six feet long while the rest of the hair is shoulder length. Maybe they didn't have input from a girl. :D

I agree that Ferelden is not the top rung of the fashion ladder, modders save us, please! (Mainly for the city elf mage! Not even a shoulder length version of Hermione hair? WTB?) Image IPB

lol Funny you say that PandaThief and I had that very discussion, basically we don't think so either... Apologies to any female dev who may feel this wasn't so.  Or male or female someone could have used hair styling magazines as inspiration or medieval art or something.

Actually, I think things like Haircuts are important design Elements for the atmosphere of a game. Now this is a game, where atmosphere counts a lot, so when I see that more than half of the Character design elements seen as far seem to be just transfered from Mass Effect (which would explain the modern look of the Styles, actually some Haircuts are exactly the same), this lets me really doubt about the quality of the overall design.

The thing is, I would not reject buying the game just because of the Haircuts, but Dragon Age isnt the only game available. I have to decide next week if I want to finally get the Fallout 3 GOTY Edition or Dragon Age. Now if already the Char Editor makes a bad Impression to me (and it is at this moment an advertising Element, it should rather impress me a lot), I think I will decide to get Fallout and wait half a year until some good mods are out and the game is less expensive anyway. That way, Bioware achieves the opposite of what they want to achieve by publishing the Char Editor in advance. And that is quite sad, because one week ago I really considered buying Dragon Age right after release.

That way, regarding my personal subjective self, FAIL @Bioware

Haha, highschool hair.

Punk or metal hairstyles would be awesome in this. What were they thinking?

So why do any customizations at all if you are going to just put a generic helmet on?

Yeah I agree with the TC. The hair style choices are rather limited. Actually I was disappointed also that one could not change the overall width and height of the head. I cannot make a character with a long narrow face or a cube shape head for example.

... Okay, I understand having more hair options, that's fine... But am I the only one on these forums that actually liked most of the options currently available?

To be honest, I was (and still am) hoping, that some Bioware Guy came along and said: Uuh, shame on us, Dear Sir! Please accept this free copy of the special edition and let me assure you that we assign a special programming team for cool new Haircuts and an improved CE delivered with the very first patch already next week.
Hope dies last...

Could always add them in DLC, just like the Sims. Only 750 Simpoints each. Oops, I better not have said that aloud, some EA rep might overhear and get a lightbulb.
