New item packs for Warriors, Rogies or mages are now available as DLC. You can purchase one class pack for 240 points/$3 or buy all three for 400 points/$5. Each packs contain powerful new weapons and armor for Hawke (per class),  and new items for followers.

These packs are now available for Xbox 360 and PC. Available for Playstation 3 as soon as possible.

You can learn more about these packs and see some of the new armors on the Dragon Age 2 Add-Ons page.

have some dignity.

When it comes to extra content, there are very, very few developers left with any dignity, as it were. Even Valve, the Jesus of gaming, launched Portal 2 with a shop full of useless, overpriced vanity items and has the Mann Co. stuff in TF2.

Just like to chime in on this topic in an unofficial way (if that's even possible with this looming tag under my name?). I view MTXs in general to be vanity purchases. In most cases these purchases are just to increase the fun and enjoyment for those users that it is applicable for. Personally, I play a lot of Heroes of Newerth in my spare time and I frequently buy from their online store - all of those purchases are vanity only but it makes it a little more fun for me to look different sometimes plus it allows me to support a company that I really believe deserves it (S2 Games). Now, I'm not saying one way or the other what your reasons for or against these MTX DLCs are or your support of BioWare in general, simply that it provides something that some people do want. If it's not your type of thing then that's okay.

Now when it comes to full adventure DLC, you can rest assured that we have taken a lot of feedback gathered from DA2 launch and created content in light of those opinions. I think everyone will be pleasantly surprised.

I'll try to address some of the more common points from the posts here...

Where is my story dlc?
For what it is worth we are continuing to work on story dlc, it's just that these have been pushed back in order to give them the time necessary to properly address not only the feedback from DAO DLC (which was always the plan), but also what we can address (within the limits of DLC) from the post launch DA2 feedback.  So basically, these will take time - we'll talk about them officially when we get closer.

Why item packs?
Very simply, these were quite successful in both DAO and ME2 both in terms of sales and also usage data, indicating that the demand is there.  So while we get that a lot of our forum users prefer story content (which we also enjoy, hence also working on that), make no mistake that there is indeed an audience out there that loves to customize their characters as well as do their replays with premium gear, so these have a place in our DLC plan.  And while I would have loved to have us release a story dlc first, see above for why that was not possible.

Game needs more fixes
We absolutely recognize that there are players that are still running
into issues on DA2.  PC patch 1.02 and consoles update 1.01 came out roughly a month after game launch and were the first major patch, delivering over 100 fixes but its not possible for these to address everything.

What they did address was most of the high volume & impact issues we could detect from our gameplay data that players can opt in to send, and that we could execute on quickly - trying to balance effectiveness of the patch for as many players as possible, with timeliness to get it to their hands.

That's not to say we're ignoring everyone else - far from it.  We didn't stop there, and the patch team has continued working on other issues as reported by you here and are currently in the process of testing the next major patch, which contains even more fixes than the previous one.  The next patch addresses many of the issues that took longer to pin down and thus did not make it into the 1.02/1.01 patch.  You can follow that progress (and contribute to it) on the tech forums for the appropriate platform.

Hope that helps,
F.

I'm just wondering if there will be any hi-res textures released. The outfits are great but the textures are terrible :(

Yes, we're looking at an update to the HRT pack (or possibly optional second HRT pack download) which will cover the items in these packs.

Hey Fernando, what do you think of the NFL lockout? Just curious.

I think it's not relevant to the Item Packs :)   Truthfully I haven't given it a lot of thought - I'm not a huge NFL fan to start with, but also the stanley cup is still in play. ;)

Fernando, does that mean now that DA2 is out you guys might remake "WitchHunt" which lets face it,
was really awful not only in value for money, but content, storyline and how it was hashed at release.

I think WH needs remaking completely as it still is the most anticipated DLC ever, and failed in a most
complete sense.

No, properly addressing feedback doesn't mean remaking, it means addressing some of the concerns (as in not repeating those shortcomings).

Does anyone know when the next lot of DLC will be out for DA2?

Thanks :D

That`s a question only the people at Bioware can answer.

Obviously I'm not at liberty to discuss anything in detail about any upcoming story DLC but I'll say a few things that will hopefully sate your curiousity for now

First of all, it's awesome. Yup. Awesome.
Secondly, we're ensuring that it is of the utmost quality when it is finally released and as such have really taken our time to incorporate all the feedback we've been receiving from the forums and make changes/additions accordingly.
Third, it's awesome. Did I mention that? B)

We will have more information on it as gets closer to release but don't expect anything too soon; the patch and game quality are top priority.

@Ishmaeltheforesaken & Siduri Thanks for the feed back I've went ahead and d/l'ed and installed it. Have yet to play through the game with them yet as I just walked in the door from work.<LOL> Glad I'm off till Sat night.<G>

@Luke Barret Quick question for you which I know you should be able to answer this one freely without given things away. Why is there only one Crossbow in the whole game and that is the one for which Varric is using?  Didn't Bioware think that some of us players would like to have the opportunity to use a crossbow as opposed to bow and arrows? I persnally prefer a cross bow over a bow and arrow.

Varric's Crossbow is specifically a Repeating Crossbow and is a unique, lore-based circumstance, so as far as you should be concerned there aren't any crossbows :) All I can tell you is that there was a deliberate reason for this

The DAO crossbows did get any damage boost from dex/str so obviously they weren't really crossbows anyways! :P

Still not on PSN yet as of 3pm EST. Have a feeling it'll be on there within the next hour because thats when Legacy showed up last time.

It should be roughly the exact same time. Just like Microsoft Sony has a certain time on tuesdays that they do their updates to the store.
