You people realize that we actually *couldn't* make this with the toolset, right? The toolset isn't a modeling program. And we *can* already do something exactly like this with custom meshes.

The flaw with your argument is that your definition of a bad product is one that you do not want. This is optional and does not impact the game. If it was not made, it would not in anyway affect progress on patching or "fluff" DLC. What did you want? Armor with lasers? :alien:If you want something other than an armor pack, this pack does not delay that at all.

I wouldn't really call that a flaw, just an evaluation of its subjective worth for me versus how much it costs, i.e. it's worthless, yet costs 5 dollars. Therefore it's a ****ty product. For me.

The kind of product I would prefer is something that actually has a story and such. And I do know this DLC probably doesn't delay that kind of DLC in any way, hence the "a bit irrational" part.

I just hate how in ME2 and now in DA2, you have a relative lack of decent loot in the main game and they always shove loot DLC out the door first.

Business mah man. :)

Although I think there was enough decent loot in DA2 (not so much ME2).

The toolset makes it a lot easier.  Thats the point.

It doesn't, actually.

Mmmmkay then why not quote reply them instead of using my post. I am not them, I did not post their words, nor did I think for them?

Oh, I know. They were just there as examples. That the only mud-slingers being called out are the ones occupying the 'I actually don't like DA2/this item pack all that much' side of the line (which is a little odd, considering that the slight which apparently set it all off wasn't even made here) is irksome, however.

(Seems like it's passed now, anyway. Hooray and all that)

There's two armour sets per pack? Any pictures of the warrior sets floating around? I've only seen the one so far.

I don't think they are ever going to release a toolset.  There would be no reason for PC users to buy DLC content if they did.  They want the money.

You're probably right, sadly, but its such a tremendous waste to abandon the mod community like that. And as its been mentioned before, having a robust and lively mod community likely does more to HELP DLC sales on PC as mods and a toolset can keep people actively engaged with the game after they've gone through it.

Thats certainly the reason why I bought some of the Origins DLC, as I was still playing DAO using mods and messing around with the toolset.

Well, it depends what you want to do, but navigating things were a heck of a bit easier. Obviously much can be done in 3ds max, maya or the like, but for basic changes in DA:O or the models themselves (character, not armour) or creating new modules- the toolset was the easiest way to accomplish it that I found.

Exactly.  I am *still* playing DAO because of mods.  It doesn't stop me from buying DLC either.

So I bought this pack and there is plenty of space for ruins, my question is since the items get better as you level up and you already placed a ruin in say a level 5 dagger for example fire, you get a +2 to fire damage, does the ruin damage go up as well?

Yes the rune bases its damage of the weapons lvl/power so they will grow together

Really like the warrior "lion" armour, probably pick up that pack when I've spare points to spend, not really that interested in the other classes gear.

Very nice, and your M!Hawke is awesome!

Why thank you! I love the way he came out. Especially when he does the whole witty/charm thing in cutscenes.

Can I just say that I find the daggers to be very ugly and unroguely?

Sure You can say that, but not all rogues are thieves. Some are pirates, and blades don't get more piratey. (though I would have made them a little less squared off)

I actually thought they were meat cleavers...

This argument would make sense if they didn't admit that the toolset in Origins made the DLC sell more.

Yes, it does.  Have you mod'd DA:O without it?  It takes like twice as long.

The point is that we don't need new armor, but we need new maps and stories. And for that  the toolset is essential.

Not really impressive, but its a lower level stepping stone. Good stats at least.

I've modded DAII without it. I guarantee you that a toolset would not make a mod like this item pack easier.

That's... not even new armour. How... disappointing.

Eh, agreed. But the stats make it good as you're working up levels. It's kind of like a bonus set in my eyes. I didn't even know it existed until I bought it.

That's not the point actually. Maybe it's your point, but it's not the point I was addressing. I want an update to the toolset just as much as anyone else. But the draw of this item pack is new art, and that's simply *not* something that a toolset would facilitate.

I'm not taking issue with those who say "I'd prefer story DLC." I'm taking issue with people who say "We could do this for free with a toolset." That's simply not true. We already can do this for free if someone wants to create the art, and a toolset wouldn't magically create the art for us.

How so?

Feastday Gifts & Pranks and the Weapon packs in ME2 didn't exist?

Its all leading up to a Dragon Age Cooking Mama crossover DLC. Gotta bring in that casual gaming audience:P

Isn't that just straight up the same as the Legion of the Dead armor in Origins?
