I would agree, but when it comes to Bioware games, I don't care about it, for example, ME2 does not reuse any areas at all, and guess what? I can't standt he game, I enjpoy playing threw the first ME game more, which did re-use alot more areas, I prefer playing threw DA2 over both ME games. Areas to me don't matter, if this was a shooter game, action game, a game like TES/FO or a platformer, yes level design is what I look at, but not at a BW game.Eudaemonium wrote...
Okay, I'm not sure if you're being sarcastic, but I will assume not.
Environments add (a lot) to replay value, if only because they prevent the play boring as easy. You are less inclined to replay a game if it felt like you were replaying it the first time you ran through, which DA2 did at many points. It will be things like this that put people off replaying and actually appreciating the amount of work that went into things like Hawke's personality and the friendship/rivalry system. Replaying to appreciate the nuances of these systems will be far less appealing if you already tired of runnign through generic warehouse B 54 times the first time you played.

First Zelda is about there puzzles and temples, Bioware games are about there characters and writing. Comparing Zelda to DA is just plain stupid.-Skorpious- wrote...
Yes they do.
Imagine that you are playing The Legend of Zelda. Now imagine that every dungeon you encounter is exactly the same as the original.
Fine. DAO managed to include great characters, writing, and new environments.
Yes, but DA2 took the practice of recycling environments to the extreme. DAO used recycled environments on a few sidequests/Fade sequences (which looked completely different mind you) - DA2 EXCESSIVELY used recycled content on a regular basis.

Yes it did and I'm not arguing that, but DAO was not perfect at all when it came to level design. The level deisgn is a huge flaw but it does not hurt replay value at all for me.-Skorpious- wrote...

Oh, and magic resistance is bugged. The higher your magic resistance (mages already have a natural high MR due to the pumpted Magic) the more likely you will resist your own haste spell.
Can we get a word on if there is going to be a toolset for DA2?

How about you fix more of the damn issues & make the toons like Allistar & Zevran look better. SInce you already charged us 60+7 for this game.

Yes we can I agree with that, I loved DA2, but I'm not blind to the fact it was rush. I wished EA did not rush Bioware, DA2 would have been much better if it had a longer dev.-Skorpious- wrote...
We can at least both surely agree that DA2 would have been a better game if it contained more variety; I certainty know that I wouldn't be complaining as much if the game allowed Hawke to visit more than a handful of locations.

One thing I find interesting and that is that there are no new companion outfits, something people were sure would be in a DLC like this as a cash grab. The fact that there isn't implies that BWs reasons for the static outfits is exactly what they said, for character and model reasons.
I would think characters could have alternate appearances while still preserving their distinctive "look" and their model's proportions, assuming the alternate appearance is also unique and restricted to them only.
That's not to say I thought they were lying about the reason for static appearances to begin with.

Okay, I have to confess, I frickin *love* the new Mage armours on femHawke. Seriously, they are awesome and beautiful Act 1 and Act 2 armours that look unique, practical and don't scream 'I'm a Mage!' Y.
This. Enjoying it. looks great

The point is that we don't need new armor, but we need new maps and stories. And for that the toolset is essential.
That's not the point actually. Maybe it's your point, but it's not the point I was addressing. I want an update to the toolset just as much as anyone else. But the draw of this item pack is new art, and that's simply *not* something that a toolset would facilitate. .
Fair enough. I agree that a toolset wouldn't help create new models and textures. The toolset *might* make statting said new items easier, but I assume that the new items *can* be statted without the toolset because modders seem to be doing just that already. In which case, I'll still pass on this item pack because the modding community is already making these things. I'd rather pay for things that the community couldn't make even with the toolset, such as quests voiced by the DA actors, and canon stories. Or the toolset itself.

Good points there. And it's SO good to see you back! Any progress on you know what?
