This post is funny. Environments add to replay value? lolz..

Yes?

I definitely think environments add to replay. Diablo and Diablo II's dynamic environments made replaying it much more enjoyable. Areas that are attractive and interesting also make playing the game again a pleasure.

Im still debating whether to get the dlc, i really love the warrior armor, but what DA2 really needs is a dlc pack where you travel somewhere completely different, like a new town with its own shops and quests, kinda like the size of denerims market in DA:O with some areas around there.
Hey maybe we should travel back to lothering, is it rebuilt? is it a ghost town? who knows

Simply, i don't use toolsets and these are nice items, i payed 3 quid. Its not bank breaking money, they are nice and level up as you go, and have codex/lore which is B) .

Thanks for these. Small touches are always good and don't cost the earth. :)

And people say DA2 isn't a Mass Effect 2 rip off with swords. When do we get the alternate appearance pack? I know I can't wait to pay top dollar for the absolute bare minimum of effort. Which of course you can only get away with once you throw the modding community out in the cold so you don't have to actually produce content worthy of purchase.

Even with no toolset, the modding community is slowly making progress, it appears.

Of course, some of the programming quirks in the game almost appear to be intentional attempts to thwart heavy modding.

Items look great although the companion trinkets (outside of Aveline's) look like they might be a smidgen too powerful. Anyone with the pack checked if any of the armor sets or the daggers count as set items (with bonuses?) just curious.

Frankly while I personally don't mind DLC like this and understand why it would be the first to be released, I would have personally preferred some sort of alternate appearance pack for the companion characters (with toggle options like in ME2) since Hawke gets to play plenty of dress up already. Ah well hopefully this is a sign of things like that and story DLCs coming soon on the horizon. And one could dream of an environment add-on pack, although making that a paid DLC may set a dangerous precedent...

I guess I'll mull this one over a little bit more. Thanks to the people who posted pics and stats, changed my opinion from a "definitely no thanks" to a "just maybe worth getting."

In think I'll wait until meaningful content is released, hopefully some of it for free as a form of appology for charging twice what this game was actually worth.

I may complain at a later date. They are untested and i may demand my 3 quid back. Court if need be, so beware.

Yeah, that'll totally happen...... You should read your sig more often about suspending disbelief.

Honestly...?

I think the warrior outfit is pretty slick. But I highly doubt I'll be buying it. This is alternate appearance pack 2.0 #1 and not much more to me.

do the companions get new armor too or only weapons? if they do, are they different? I don't want to dress companions in the same robes, like Anders and Merrill, Varric and Isabela, etc

I don't really intent to buy this DLC as they are just items.. but please make a really good story DLC so that I would be tempted to buy this just to play it all over again...

Can anyone confirm if the new armor/items support the high res texture pack for PC? Or are they low res textures?

They can use the weapons and get a companion specific trinket.

Yep. That's the only thing about this. That bow and staff kind of make all the other weapons absolute for their class. Not really a problem for people who have already beaten it, but for new people coming in i could see how it it could lessen the experience.

Oh, well though. They did this with ME2 too, and i still loved it never the less.

I've been reading a bit of this, I'll admit I skipped a few pages as I assumed it was a lot of the same but can someone provide information on if this pack makes your character overpowered and pretty much makes all existing gear not needed or is just more like alternate gear similiar to existing gear but provides enough differences to make them unique?

Just curious, I'll pass on this as I prefer story content to item content.

I can confirm....they do not.  That sucks.  Compared to the rest of the armor in the game, the low res textures of these DLC armor really stand out and look bad.  Will Bioware be releasing a High Res version for these for PC?

Considering most of the armors for your character look like it came out of granny's closet in the game I ended up buying it. Would of been nice if they could of done this with the base game though instead of re-hashed mage armors ect from DA1 then having a pay for something different option. But I guess that's the idea ><
