As much as I enjoy Dragon Age 2 all those armors just look extremely unappealing. The warrior armor looks ridiculous, the rogue armor looks incredibly bland, and the mage armor.... just looks like another robe with a hood. None of them compare the the Champion armor of any class.

Remember when Bethesda released the Horse Armor pack for Oblivion, and everybody was like, "lol wut"?

Moar items is the last thing I want to buy for DA2. :?

Is David Gaidor the new stylist of Bioware as well?

The real draw for me would have been new armor for my companions. Battles are easy for me so I don't need more items. If I could put that warrior armor on Aveline or those mage robes on Merrill then I would definitely buy this pack.

I hate how the inventory system works now. I have to throw away dozens of good robes simply because my character can't wear them. I used to love splitting all the best equipment between my companions in Origins

Yeah, I'm with you. In DAO I had my characters smokin' and stylin'. I had Justice in that Black Dragon armor, and he was just invincible. Now, I'm junking all kinds of really good and useful stuff, because it's no longer good and useful, because it's not QUITE as good as what I have my main character wearing and I can't use it anywhere else.

I can see why powerful items worth real money in free-to-play games. I don't play them, but I understand.
I could see the point of that weapon pack in ME2: new weapons at least provided new tactical capabilities.
This DLC is what modders in DA:O and Oblivion provided for free and with better quality too (no high-res patch compatibility for PC).

i'm wondering if EA/bioware is testing some sort of new business model with DA2

how much money can you milk off a successful franchise with the least amount of effort?

Honestly, it's $5. I would buy that in a heartbeat. Problem is that I'd have to get on the PSN, which is impossible, and then risk using my credit card on the PS Store where it might get stolen.

No thanks.

Yeah, no interest in this one. There is plenty of good weapons and armor in the game already, and most of it looks far better than these, even the starting gear. Hell, even most of the Champion armor looks better than these DLC, and the Champion armors tend to be just this side of completely ridiculous.

Ummmm... no, if this was real DLC I would buy it, assuming it was high quality like Origins, but an item pack, no.

While I'm generally not a big fan of item DLC, some of the stuff in here looks pretty fun, so I'll definitely grab it for my next DA2 playthrough.

And people say DA2 isn't a Mass Effect 2 rip off with swords. When do we get the alternate appearance pack? I know I can't wait to pay top dollar for the absolute bare minimum of effort. Which of course you can only get away with once you throw the modding community out in the cold so you don't have to actually produce content worthy of purchase.

while i understand your plight, i cant say they left the modding community out in the cold.
The modding community for DA2 is quite thriving.

Go have a look on Dragon Nexus, they coming up with some really cool stuff.

Personally i will wait to see all the DLCs and then purchase my favourites.
Im not a fan of weapon/armor/appearance DLCs, I prefer the content based ones.

If by "high quality DLC", you mean Shale, RTO and Warden's Keep, then yes I agree. The rest of Origins' DLC, howeverPosted Image

I would rather you (Bioware) fix the game, before releasing dlc for Dragon Age 2.

I'm sure they could make MUCH more money if they charged us for the toolset. I think they could charge upwards of $15 and people would flock to it.

There you go BW, i'm helping you make money.

I really have to question the mentality of anyone who spends money on this.

Greedy, money-grabbing nonsense at its worse.

It's five bucks, hardly a huge investment. For the moment it doesn't matter much to me, given the PSN is down and might stay that way for another week or so.

$5 for a couple of items is obscene especially when you consider you can get FULL GAMES on XBL or Steam for that amount.

then why are you posting here if you dont enjoy the game

Because people make noise in public forums and to each other when they feel they haven't got value for money.

Honestly, it's a big part of what incentivises companies to offer good value for money in the first place.

It wouldn't be in anybody's interests to stifle consumer dissatisfaction, least of all the companies selling them stuff, so suck it up, princess.

Don't people spend money to customize their Xbox avatars?

Well, if you were a business and you had a bunch of silly people willing to hand over their money to you if you offered them an item pack, would you do it?

Very silly people, or people whose money doesn't  come from their own work, heh.

I might be a bit slow to take the mickey if I had lots more unsilly people who thought the game wasn't finished.

Edit: There's the crux, I suppose - it clearly pays to aim at silly people, they are obviously more profitable per head.
I guess DLC means that unsilly gamers will select themselves out of existence, because nobody will care about the wishes of people who aren't silly enough to buy the game at full whack, then its content as DLC later.

Well, what's done is done as far as the issue of it being rushed/incomplete/etc, I'm not sure how many people really expect them to go back and finish it now.

Well, it does sell to aim DLC toward those who are willing to buy such things as item packs, but that doesn't mean it's a slippery slope where that's all they're going to sell because "why bother making anything else?". ME2 has item packs, but it also has good plot-driven DLCs. Unless you don't like that type of DLC either, but I'm okay with it.
