I've said it before and I'll say it again: I'm all for item packs and such things BUT if we're going to pay money for it, then at least make something worth having.
Why would I use any set of armor in this item pack if none of them stack up to the Champion's armor in looks and stats? Granted the weapons and other bits are OK...
I was really excited to see the champions armor designs and I thought Bioware was going in the right direction with the bad-ass look.
Then I get this Carnival Lion outfit that makes my warrior look like a complete idiot? Seems like something from a Japanese fantasy cartoon!
Come on BioWare, you guys need to be the best at making armor sets for your own games! (the fan-made Grey Warden Runic Armor set from Origins is still better than any piece of armor you have come up with to date).
And no high-res textures? Shocking!
I'm really hoping this was a trial run to see how we react and that you will come up with something better in the next set of items...
One thing is for sure, I won't be buying it in a hurry until I see some feedback from others.

Did you miss the part where it said, and I quote, "Orleasian"?

You people can complain about anything; even when it is you that didn't read or bother to look at the screen shots on the site. -roll-

This adds nothing to the game. If I want new armor and weapons I'll use free mods.

Give me more locations and deeper story please.

I don't really dig item DLC, but that is an awful lot of nice frigging items for five bucks. Will be buying as soon as Sony gets their s together. Thanks to Stippling for posting screenshots a few pages back.

Bwaaaaaahahahaha. Alright. Im done. Seriously I'm done. I get it. Why allow players to mod the game when you can charge them 12 percent of the original game price for stuff that's half the quality.

Why allow companions to equip armor when we can just charge the player every time they want to change someones appearence.

I think this is a pretty good argument. Although I wouldn't say "half the quality," just "very little content."

Maybe when more dlc turns up Ill decide to purchase some points...

No thanks. I'm no longer playing DA2, and I didn't enjoy the game when I did play it. There will be no sales on DLC for this game for me.

Mass Effect 2 did the same thing DLC wise.

In think I'll wait until meaningful content is released, hopefully some of it for free as a form of appology for charging twice what this game was actually worth.

Yeah, that'll totally happen...... You should read your sig more often about suspending disbelief.

I should always remember that deadpan sarcasm and straight-faced snark don't translate well to text...

And people say DA2 isn't a Mass Effect 2 rip off with swords. When do we get the alternate appearance pack? I know I can't wait to pay top dollar for the absolute bare minimum of effort. Which of course you can only get away with once you throw the modding community out in the cold so you don't have to actually produce content worthy of purchase.

while i understand your plight, i cant say they left the modding community out in the cold.
The modding community for DA2 is quite thriving.

Go have a look on Dragon Nexus, they coming up with some really cool stuff.

Personally i will wait to see all the DLCs and then purchase my favourites.
Im not a fan of weapon/armor/appearance DLCs, I prefer the content based ones.

:bandit:

Indeed! My override folder is getting full.

Personally I think the item pack is great though. I like the best of both worlds.

The Warrior Armor looks fun, but I don't buy DLC for games that I don't enjoy.

then why are you posting here if you dont enjoy the game

They are disappointed in the product, and have a right to say so.

Or is it that you want an echo chamber, where only people who share your rosey view of the game are allowed to voice their opinion?

Well, if you were a business and you had a bunch of silly people willing to hand over their money to you if you offered them an item pack, would you do it?

No.

Just because I think it's incomplete in some ways doesn't mean I think it's a bad game. Even if I did, what, I should expect reparations? Maybe I should have done some more research and not just bought it on blind faith.

Things like the Signature Edition are designed specifically to put people in a bind, that makes it cost more to wait until they have the information to make a fully-informed purchasing decision, and then get the content that would have been included.

Can someone tell if the item sets give any set bonus if the whole set is equipped?

Thanks for the DLC guys, items look cool...

That being said, this will be the first DLC since DA:O and the ME series that I will not be buying (yeah, I know, I even bought the Festday Packs Posted Image).

I jumped on the pre-order bonus item crazed bandwagon with DA2... and was rather disappointed with the game overall, but what REALLY made me not fond of DA2 was the glaring lack of effort that was put into the game and the super rushed product that we were presented with, being half the length (and merely a fraction of the quality of DA:O) while still being charged the full price.

So this has been my hard learned lesson for the future. No more shiny pre-order bonus items enticing me to purchase this thing or that which I normally would never buy. Even with ME3 I won't be pre-ordering but will wait and see what the fan reviews are like... and I have A LOT more faith in the ME franchise than in the DA franchise... although that faith has been tempered somewhat with the quality of the Arrival DLC. I get the impression that the ME team is taking their cues from the DA team in terms of quality and I seriously hope I am wrong about that. Perhaps it's the new direction on Bioware as a whole... and, again, I want nothing more than to be totally wrong about that.

Thanks guys but this one is awaiting for a strong story driven and high quality DLC/Expansion which would aid in the immersion in this world you have created, instead of breaking it at every turn... and which hopefully will make me interested, at least somewhat, in DA2 - as I simply am unable to finish my 2nd playthrough. You know what DLC I would buy?

DLC that allows elf and surface dwarf options for Hawke and family.

Well, what does "Orlesian" mean exactly? Does it necessarily mean the armor will make you look like a freak?
And just so we're clear, I DID have a look at the three screenshots on the DA site BEFORE I purchased it, but if you have a look at it you will no doubt agree that the images are not very clear.
So go find someone else to argue with.

I am thinking of getting the pack. That said, come on Bioware I fully expect you to release a DLC to get our money, you are not a charity. But you need to do better to get some goodwill from fans. Seriously Bioware, if I buy this now, and you do not do better next time, the chance of you getting my money next time drops. Competition in the games industry is fierce people, do better or expect to left at the back of the ... pack.
