Well the price difference is giving me pause ... but I am tempted to get it so I get new items. Let's face it, without the toolset we can only do replacers. I have replaced many of the items myself. And as of now, new textures from the modding community is still low.

I think I've seen new items that aren't replacers.

You have. There's absolutely nothing preventing us from creating entirely new custom items. But I'm willing to pay BioWare $5 to do the work of creating the models and textures so I don't have to.

Are there many of these new items? Most of them are new textures replacing existing items. Why is that so?

An Item Pack as DLC for DA2. Just take a look at this interview.

A big focus for us is to make sure we get it right and we make sure it's, honestly, a beefier experience than the Origins DLCs and one that introduces something new to the Dragon Age game.

So an Item Pack priced 400 MSP gives me a "beefier" experience than the Origins DLCs?

From what I saw those items have different story/codex entry attached to them. "Beefier" no!?

Because creating custom meshes is hard work, and we don't get paid to do it. Elys has ported some modders' resources created for use in Origins to DAII, bt for the most part, we use what the game gives us, because it's easier. I can't use 3DSMax at all. Which is why I'm okay with paying for new models.

It would not be so bad if the game was incredibly hard, and there were not already good armours in the game.....

I just really can't see where these fit in, and what real purpose they serve other than a cash cow from EA.

Yep the game was to easy, and it was a hyped expansion sized piece sold as a full game in my opinion. Speaking of expansions I found Awakengings more entertaining than DA2. As far as I'm concerned Bioware took advantage of the success of what was a masterpiece of a game with Origins, and fleshed out and pushed out a poor knockoff just to make the cash. Now with even editiors at magazines like PC Gamer saying in their personal reviews of DA2 that they are having a hard time playing through the game becauase of the same issues us so called haters have with the game, it seems Bioware is trying to get what content out that they can before others like myself close their wallets.

I wouldn't go down this road bioware, you don't sell a few useless DLC's without making a few enemies.

Well these items does not have attribute restrictions so it opens up new possibilities. Blood mage hawke for example no longer needs willpower ( until RotUC anyway). Malcolm honor is kinda useless on nightmare though, why spirit damage when it has bonus against demons and undead?

Apostate mask is the best hood in the game. If only it has no class restriction.

Damn PSN why must you be down.

Hmm, a shame the Warrior Pack comes with two greatswords but no longsword. Also can't say I like the armor design of the promotional warrior's set; too Orlesian. I like how the other two main sets look, though, I'm curious to see what the future will bring.

THe Warrior pack also comes a W&S axe and also a shield

Yeah, but who uses axes anyway?

Then again, I am one of the few freaks that also chooses armor and equipment bases on what they look like, instead of just stats. Result being that I played the entirety of act II in the Armor of the Fallen from the Deep Roads, with only 'conventional', not round shields (of which there are very few).

Well technically you can't, but it would be fun if BioWare do sell a nude dlc.

What this game needs is a true exspansion with about 25 to 30 hours of legit story.Just my opinion.I dont see why thats not possible with a level cap of 50.

So it is harder to make new textures and meshes. In other words the time and effort spent by Bioware staff justifies selling something like this.

However I would also prefer a story DLC or something else that adds something special to the game.

Sorry if this was asked in the previous 20+ pages of forum thus far but what are the stats for the armor compared to the Champion armor. The armors LOOK cool but so does the champion armor (especially on the mage IMO) so my main concern is the stats. Looks is all well and good but I prefer practicality and functionality over mere looks.

Also, I too hope this is a sign that story based DLC is on the way. I got a war against the Templars to finish!

I usually grab dlc right away but this has me pause and consider. I'll wait to get this dlc until the lower the price.

Where's the actual dlc Bioware? Missions would be nice....
