I'm quite happy with the item packs. The mage armors are especially nice, since my mage characters determinedly refuse to wear robes (no matter how inadequate their current armor). I refuse to run around looking like either a circle mage or a magister - ewww. It's also nice that Hawke gets to inherit her/his father's stuff.

Hey look its a bunch of gear that should have been included to supplement the weak amount of armor sets and weapons in the game, for the low low cost of 5 bucks. Too bad this is of no use to the vast majority of players who have already finished the game and moved on.
There was greater variety of weapons and armor than in Origins

As for the low price of 5 dollars, no comment there. I've already stated my piece earlier about what I think of the DLC.

ishmael after reading your posts i seriously wonder, are u getting paid to defend da2? how could you say there is more variety of armors then da2 when only main character could wear any armor?

No! My leather-skirt armor with purple tint, leather-skirt armor with brown tint, and leather-skirt armor with bluish tint were all different items!ishmaeltheforsaken wrote...

There are more armor models in DA II than in DA:O.
Do you see that bluish tinted leather armor your current avatar is wearing at level 18? It's the exact same model as the leather armor your HN rogue wore when you started the game. Only it's tinted a different color.

An armor that can be equipped by eight characters is still one armor.
Origins had exactly two massive armor models. DAII has more than five.
Origins had exactly one light armor model. DAII has more than... I don't know, because I hate playing rogues. Probably more than five.

I think you're confounding customization options with variety... if anything the fact that each companion has an entirely unique outfit (or multiple) increases the variety of armors in the game.

In general, I think the game is awesome. There's room for improvements (I can think of plenty on my wishlist), but I enjoyed it just as much as I did PS:T or BG2 or DA:O. I think they definitely put plenty of selection armor wise into the game, and DLC packs, by the way, are all optional. Don't like it? Don't buy it. Didn't buy it? Don't leave a review.

Even better, so you can think twice if you want to give away your money.
This is my first post, and it's sad that I'm just writing to express my dissapointment with Bioware (EA I already know how they behave).

...Not... necessarily. Sure, there's multiple armor models, lots for PCs. But how many would you EVER see without putting them on companions, too? Not many. At all. And your companions are always in one or two outfits the entire game. That doesn't increase variety. It decreases the variety that you will see in any given game.

have some dignity.
When it comes to extra content, there are very, very few developers left with any dignity, as it were. Even Valve, the Jesus of gaming, launched Portal 2 with a shop full of useless, overpriced vanity items and has the Mann Co. stuff in TF2.
Just like to chime in on this topic in an unofficial way (if that's even possible with this looming tag under my name?). I view MTXs in general to be vanity purchases. In most cases these purchases are just to increase the fun and enjoyment for those users that it is applicable for. Personally, I play a lot of Heroes of Newerth in my spare time and I frequently buy from their online store - all of those purchases are vanity only but it makes it a little more fun for me to look different sometimes plus it allows me to support a company that I really believe deserves it (S2 Games). Now, I'm not saying one way or the other what your reasons for or against these MTX DLCs are or your support of BioWare in general, simply that it provides something that some people do want. If it's not your type of thing then that's okay.
Now when it comes to full adventure DLC, you can rest assured that we have taken a lot of feedback gathered from DA2 launch and created content in light of those opinions. I think everyone will be pleasantly surprised.
I'm not nessicarily opposed to DLC like this, however many games, especially Bioware games, have a bad habit of:
1. Not using the game models they have already in game.
My first playthrough of DA2 I probably saw 5 out of the 20ish weapon models per weapon. Same with armors.
2. Making 90% of equipment sub-par/not ideal.
Basically even if you come across a armor or weapon model you like visually, chances are you're going to have to sacrifice performance to use it.
3. Releasing DLC items that are superior to what you get in game. (visually and statistically.)
While this may seem like the obvious thing to do, More and more often even before DLC is released I get this feeling that the original items have been purposely kept weak/trivial in their effectiveness in order to keep the road clear for DLC and expansion content.
I think this kind of stuff hurts the game experience quite a bit, I definitely felt that way with DA2 at least. Equipment and Weapons need to be treated in much the same way as DA2 and Mass Effect 2 treated abilities. By that I mean, regardless of what you use, when you use it it should be distinct and effective.
DLC items should complement what is in the game, not serve as an example of how crappy the rest of the games items are.
