Now when it comes to full adventure DLC, you can rest assured that we have taken a lot of feedback gathered from DA2 launch and created content in light of those opinions. I think everyone will be pleasantly surprised.

Luke,

Please be right about this. You guys know how many people want things to work out OK, right?

(ps: I probably haven't mentioned proper regular availability of iso view enough yet. If I haven't, I am now.)

i saw a hood with a mask in one of the pics, which class is that item for, im starting a new game, and just downloaded the item pack and that mask is full of win. and which class gets the best set, ive rolled as a mage before, thinking of going rogue this time, but if the item sets arnt good.....the champion set for the rogue is the best out of the 3, but i want to know if any of the items in the pack are decent looking for the rogue until i get that armour

I haven't read this thread, just going to post my thoughts on a couple of the items.

The mage staff .... ok it's kind of interesting looking but I'm not sure I really like the whole lady-on-a-stick thing. I was rather hoping for a sword staff. I mean the Staff of Parthalan is nice but not really usable mid to late game.

The rogue weapons. My first thought on seeing them was, "Mmmm! Fresh meat!" ... should rogues really be using weapons that the Butcher from Diablo would like? Maybe if they do another item pack they could have weapons that are more sleek and elegant ... like Finess.

I'll pass on this.

It just makes the loot you get in the game even more worthless.

And storywise, how is it that we magically have this stuff? There should really be a quest to go with this sort of thing.

bioware lost all shame .. game is still buggy as s**t after all this time and they want another $5 from the customers that they already ripped off.

Bioware, I am willing to make a deal.
Ill buy your Items DLC when you give me a story DLC to use it on, deal?

Deal! I'm writing your name down and holding you to this later. B)

Ouch! That was a bad promise to make. You never said it had to be good, or long, or have any decisions that affect the story.

Now I would promise to buy them if the prices was cut to 1/3 of its current (although PC never seems to get any sales or price drops from BioWare) and a free/very cheap patch came out adding game content to the main campaign that allowed any player decisions in the game to make any kind of impact on other characters or Kirkwall.

Nope, only PS3 users get that rate (which is still too much). Everyone else has to pay nearly twice as much.

How strong they are and what special abilities they have are just a tiny amount of text. The amount of work that goes into making something really strong is just the same as the amount of work that goes into making something weak.

Absolutely no chance I'll be buying this.  I've been done with this game for about a month now.  Perhaps you guys could spend some resources on patching the Crash To Desktop issues with Origins (which I'm playing again), you might actually foster some good will from the faithful... Just saying.

For all you complaining about the fixes in the patch or this DLC, be glad the patch and DLC didn't outright make the game unable to start like what happened with Fallout New Vegas. I bear DA2 for a second time today and decided to revisit the Mojave Wasteland. I pop in my disk and an update prompt appears. I download it and select my most recent save and .... LOCK. I restarted 3 freakin' times. Checked IGN and there's a thread or two where others are having the same issue. So take heart BW. One of your competitors completely broke the game in every sense of the word with their most recent patch.

Item packs. Oh my god.

Bioware has made tons with their Dragon Age fraud, and now they want you to play Barbie with your character. Unbelievable. Apparently some people can't access their wonderfully unearned content?

This is so, so very sad.

I love the mage items. They look cool. The staff is just so powerful. I haven't tried the rouge or warrior gear yet.

This stuff looks pretty awesome, I'm definitely gonna be buying it. I dunno where people get the idea that $5 is "too much". $5, if not more, is the standard price for this sort of content in other games.

I also don't understand how people are ****ing about the lack of a toolset (which should never be a priority anyway, it's wasting time and resources on content that only one subset of the fanbase will have any use for). But I especially love how people are expecting Bioware to have produced "hours of story content" in less than two months. The added content for Origins was released in installments over a course of TWO YEARS. Anyone who expected story DLC this early is kidding themselves.

this is dissapointing, after DA1 i was really looking forward to another epic experience. i'm taking my play through slow, and enjoying the story line, reading all the codex.. etc. etc. all my friend who've finished this game have said the same thing. "it's all right" where for DA1 they said "HOLY CRAP YOU NEED TO PLAY THIS GAME" i'm starting to see where they're coming from. i really feel like i'm playing a dumbed down, reskinned ME2.... which had one of the lamest endings ever. i mean seriously? i went afk for 30 seconds, came back and the NPC's had beaten the last boss fight for me....

FIX THE GAME FIRST. THEN ADD STORY CONTENT. THEN ADD ITEM PACKS THAT PEOPLE MIGHT WANT TO USE ON NEW CONTENT IN A GAME THAT ACTUALY WORKS.

I've waited a month or so to have this game stability issue fixed, only to be slapped in the face with limited access to the game as it is. this DLC notwithstanding. I cannot even access the items that come with the signature edition because of this damned PSN outage. This PSN outage is not your fault Bioware, but if you dangle extra content in my face in the hopes that I'll purchase it, have it independent of the Playstation Network --a code tied to the unique identifier we use to register the game with here, perhaps? Something I can punch in to access the content.

If/When the PSN comes back, I might have a look, but in the meantime, I'll definitely pass, Mr Priestly.

I'd be far more tempted to get this DLC if I had a use for the extra two armour sets I wouldn't be using. Like companions who had armour slots, for instance.

Also would have felt less micro-transactiony had these items been included as rewards/lootdrops in more substancial story-based DLC. As it is I'll probably wait till this goes on one of the DLC specials that seem to be happening all the time now. In truth I may not even get it; my armoury's flooded enough as it is

The bow is just too strong, gets around 40% Attack Speed buff if you use varrics rune and kicks the dragon bow's ass. Should have been another element since the dragon bow shares the elemental damage, but  that would require to actually think about the impact of the stuff on the game and how much sense it makes to install them the way they are.:?
