I thought it was fairly ridiculous when the illusive man sent me an e-mail saying "Hay nao you can look liek Collector". But this, this is just unacceptable.

Dont like it, dont buy it. And what does exactly make it "unacceptable"? Its not vital for the story in any way shape or form.

I don't mind the extras, BUT I would prefer that they get this game COMPLETED before adding!!!!!!!!

I would love to support the DLCs [from in-game items to story DLCs] if only I could buy points here in the Philippines without doing it online. Makes me more assured that I get to personally buy it in a store without using credit cards [since I prefer paying in cash] and most especially keep my privacy online.

I'm not fond of using credit cards online due to privacy and I just don't know how to pay online. But I guess if a story DLC will be available...by that time, I might have work already [still a student if anyone is curious] and could actually try buying online. Nevertheless I would love to do it now but I can't yet

I don't know if this is the place to say this but if only Bioware would allow us to buy BW points with a famous game shop here in the Philippines, then I would really stop by the store and buy hehe anyway forget I said anything...I don't know if this is even possible but it would really make it easier for people living in a different country to buy the DLCs

The class-specific sets for all three classes are: Act 1: pretty, Act 2: ugly, Act 3: silly, so new sets are a much needed addition, but sorry folks, this game does not get any add-on buys from me.

You have to understand.  I'm going to go out on a limb here and say that over half the people complaining about this DLC are PC players who are still butthurt over not having a toolset.  But seriously, we've been saying it since the beginning of this thread.  If you like the DLC, buy it. If you dont like it, dont buy it.  Otherwise, the people complaining really need to take the wood from that cross they feel they're being crucified on, build a bridge, and get the **** over this and move on.  It's a sodding add-on for crying out loud.  Buy it or dont.  Complaining isnt going to miraculously make it disappear.

This is about feedback, if people complain about something, it could be worth taking in consideration when doing the next DLC, or maybe add a fix patch to an old one. There seem to be bugs in this DLC. I first tried the DLC's stave when on a rogue and gave it to Bethany, it looked as a Qunari polearm. I then loaded up an old save on my mage and tried it on Hawke, got the "lady on a stick" apperance. Odd.

Yes this is also about the lack of a toolset, there is a risk that the community will revert back to Orgins if modding DA3 keeps beeing so difficult. Well moddable games can last for many years, still being popular when later, harder to alter later sequels have already been abandoned. Keeping that in mind, they should keep churning out  DLC's for Orgins actually.

This isnt the kinda of dlc that makes me want spend my money on. This is the exact kind of DLC I was against Bioware making for DA2. DLC I would find note worthly is DLC like Lair of the Shadowbroker from Mass Effect 2 or an Expansion like Awakening.  But this DLC can wait until the Ultimate edition of DA2 comes out.

Anyways why would I care for DLC items, they dont sell once they become useless to use.

Thats cute, trying to hold off the Hate with mildly useful items instead of focusing their time on expanding the story for the game. Stop making crap DLC's and give us expanded story!
Seriously, come on, this is an insult to the fan-base, shuffling out these garbage DLC's. I would pay 30 dollars for a really fantastic addition to the story...even if it was over several DLC's..like chapters or something. At least something that would make me forget the terrible ending of the game...not to mention the re-used content....

I wouldn't mind it if a toolset had been released. Then we would have been able to create/download probably far superior looking items that actually had high res textures, and wouldn't have to pay over the odds. I mean, these cost 400 Bioware/Microsoft Points right? For 800 points I have purchased FO:3 dlcs such as Point Lookout, with dozens of new items and over 10 hours of story content as well as a highly intersting area to explore. Yet for half the price, I get no where near half the content, not even close. Bioware need to look to Bethesda for how to do dlcs and expansions.

I guess the fact that an item pack was the first dlc released shows how in touch Bioware are with the fan base.

With the assessment of the initial value of the full game, $30 for DLC related to the story, unless it was AS LARGE as the original story, is too expensive. This $60 game, while mildly entertaining to me, loses it's value rapidly during gameplay, so that by the 3rd act, characters are either mumbling (like Merrill) or silent altogether- and the story is a veritable idiot-quest. Had I known it was so bad, I would have waited for the bargain bin, which I assume is filling up with this title in record amounts!!!

The fact that it's specifically "Item Pack #1" is slightly disheartening. The pawcity of in game items was an issue with the game anyway, so an indication that multiple item packs are deemed necessary makes me think this was the plan from the outset.
Never mind though, I'll just mod the items I already have, may even match the stats from the pack, but I won't be buying this.

Well i have enjoyed dragon age 2 but to say it was not a rush job would be ridiculous, the dialogue is not anywhere as complete or rich in choices as dragon age origins and your character options are limited to human. The instances all use the same 3 scene for a multiple of different instances. i thought the time and complexity of the first game was a wonder and i was disappointed in it not being so in the second one . I did still enjoy dragon age 2 . as far as most rpg go it was still fun.

Fist of all, for the most part, due to a good portion of posts, no, it's not about feeback.  It's about pissing and moaning about items that some people dont want.  Ive seen everything from "Zomg these items are overpoweredzzzz they sux0rz!!!" to "Zomfgbbqsaucewithcheese!!! What happened to mob dr0pz for teh itemz?  BioWarez j00 sux0rz!!!"  Given, not all of the posts are like that but enough of them are that the good folks at BW are probably looking at this thread, shaking their heads, laughing and saying "ooooooooooookay" and then moving on, doing what they were going to do to begin with.

Secondly, that does seem like a rather odd bug.  Im on PS3 myself and am yet to be able to DL this but will as soon as PSN is back up and running.

Thirdly, by admitting that it is about a toolset, you've proven my point to an extent.  Would also like to point out that if you're modding DA3 already, I want to know where to get a copy because meh wantz eet!! lol

And lastly, they arent going to go back to doing DLC for Origins just because some of you would rather play Origins instead of DA2.  They made it perfectly clear that Witch Hunt was the LAST DLC for Origins.  That would be like them going back and doing DLC for ME1when ME2 is already out.  And yes, I did noticed  you said "should".  But the reality is that they wont.  Period.  End of story.  The End.

So again, we all know that "story" based DLC is probably in the works.  So why sit here and ****, ****** and moan about an item pack when you know that you're going to get "story" based DLC in the future.  Surely the reason you folks are ****ing isnt so petty as that the item pack got released FIRST before any of the "story" DLC?

I'll try to address some of the more common points from the posts here...

Where is my story dlc?
For what it is worth we are continuing to work on story dlc, it's just that these have been pushed back in order to give them the time necessary to properly address not only the feedback from DAO DLC (which was always the plan), but also what we can address (within the limits of DLC) from the post launch DA2 feedback.  So basically, these will take time - we'll talk about them officially when we get closer.

Why item packs?
Very simply, these were quite successful in both DAO and ME2 both in terms of sales and also usage data, indicating that the demand is there.  So while we get that a lot of our forum users prefer story content (which we also enjoy, hence also working on that), make no mistake that there is indeed an audience out there that loves to customize their characters as well as do their replays with premium gear, so these have a place in our DLC plan.  And while I would have loved to have us release a story dlc first, see above for why that was not possible.

Game needs more fixes
We absolutely recognize that there are players that are still running
into issues on DA2.  PC patch 1.02 and consoles update 1.01 came out roughly a month after game launch and were the first major patch, delivering over 100 fixes but its not possible for these to address everything.

What they did address was most of the high volume & impact issues we could detect from our gameplay data that players can opt in to send, and that we could execute on quickly - trying to balance effectiveness of the patch for as many players as possible, with timeliness to get it to their hands.

That's not to say we're ignoring everyone else - far from it.  We didn't stop there, and the patch team has continued working on other issues as reported by you here and are currently in the process of testing the next major patch, which contains even more fixes than the previous one.  The next patch addresses many of the issues that took longer to pin down and thus did not make it into the 1.02/1.01 patch.  You can follow that progress (and contribute to it) on the tech forums for the appropriate platform.

Hope that helps,
F.

I like DA 2 and i can`t say anything against the new item pack DLC. Why not an item pack?
I prefer story content, but i also like premium gear in my replays. I play on the XBox 360 and the mods are for the PC, so item packs are welcome to me.

I´m happy to hear there is story content DLC in the making. I hope the release for this DLC is in the near future, but more item packs are also welcome.

I hope there will be much more DA stuff in the future, the franchise has so much potential.
But i`m pretty sure we will see a lot of DLC and of course DA 3.

Yes, we're looking at an update to the HRT pack (or possibly optional second HRT pack download) which will cover the items in these packs.

I'm planning on getting the item pack (the bundle) but haven't yet (I buy all DLC, eventually, unless you do something like an Ultimate Edition before I get to it). The optional hi-res content is definitely something I like to see (I'll get it regardless, but hi-res textures will make me feel much better about it).

Hopefully there's something you can do to make this easier for future DLC (I'm sure it's not a really high priority, but to have to decide to update the whole hi-res pack each time is probably going to eventually have you guys deciding that it's not worth it to bother).

Its pretty cool, I liked the idea of certain items only able to equip to certain party members, the only downside is you have to wait until your character is a lvl 15 to wear most armours, doesnt help when you just start a new campaign.....(hmmm delete patch.....start a side quest withdraw weapon wait till its back in.....now tap a really fast yay lvl 15 done- why did you patch that glitch bioware!!!???)

Wow another dlc for DA2... But the real important thing is:
DA2 is the worse game made by Bioware (at least so far). Is a pity tha DA Origins has a horrible sequel.
SHAME REALLY SHAME.
My only hope is ME3

PD long live to ORIGINS, a horrible oblivion to DA2 with his ugly bisexual options!!!

im cool with the item packs, as long as we get good story dlc or just an awakening sized expansion, say covering hawke and company fleeing and how they left him.

I'm actually quite disappointed. I half expected reading that the DLC would be more story content. But, clearly I had tried to still have some remote semblance of belief that Bioware would try to make up for the awful, rail roaded ending. Too bad I was wrong. Again.

My question would be; why wasn't there more opportunity in the game for you to customise your character? If the figures backed this up as something the players wanted?

As regards story DLC, it's probable that the release of that was bumped due to the in game issues and for some reason a decision was made to pull forward this DLC in its place.

I would rather see a good patch out instead of an overpriced pointless add on.

This is honestly pathetic charging $5 for nothing, typical Bioware DLCs go for $7 and have full stories while longer ones go for $10.
I wish people didn't buy this to at least show Bioware that this is wrong but since people bought it, more of these will be released.
