You have to understand.  I'm going to go out on a limb here and say that over half the people complaining about this DLC are PC players who are still butthurt over not having a toolset.  But seriously, we've been saying it since the beginning of this thread.  If you like the DLC, buy it. If you dont like it, dont buy it.  Otherwise, the people complaining really need to take the wood from that cross they feel they're being crucified on, build a bridge, and get the **** over this and move on.  It's a sodding add-on for crying out loud.  Buy it or dont.  Complaining isnt going to miraculously make it disappear.

Sure blame it on the pc players.... like we have nothing better to do... Strange that the man giraffe dog didnt arrive till the games were released on ps3....

Chyeah, because spam trolls are a new thing.

I would rather see a good patch out instead of an overpriced pointless add on.

This is honestly pathetic charging $5 for nothing, typical Bioware DLCs go for $7 and have full stories while longer ones go for $10.
I wish people didn't buy this to at least show Bioware that this is wrong but since people bought it, more of these will be released.

Agree they could make a story driven DLC and have new items added into the mix too. Like maybe with the Origin DLC they did, once you complete the dlc you got an awesome item unlocked for future playthroughs. I sorta liked that from Origin DLC, but of course they would need to make the DLC apart of the game itself and not separate thing like in Origins.

They did do that with the Demo.

Look, I think everyone is aware of the "if you don't like it don't buy it thing" you lot above are so fond of throwing around. The people are complaining about Bioware's attitude, their seeming expression of "we don't give a toss what you think" and lamenting "still having faith bioware can turn around". Not that I'm encouraging it, it's a wee bit dramatic.

Well i have enjoyed dragon age 2 but to say it was not a rush job would be ridiculous, the dialogue is not anywhere as complete or rich in choices as dragon age origins and your character options are limited to human. The instances all use the same 3 scene for a multiple of different instances. i thought the time and complexity of the first game was a wonder and i was disappointed in it not being so in the second one . I did still enjoy dragon age 2 . as far as most rpg go it was still fun.

They really need to fix the reused area problem. As a golden rule, if it looks like the same area, it is. I have no problem with a new bunch of low lives taking over after the last bunch I evicted from a location, they could even let Hawke and companins comment about that. Still, new areas should be created, release a toolset and modders may even help them with that.

Thanks for the update Fernando. A HRT update for the item packs would be bloody marvellous. I thought the items were alright for 12c each but "prettier" items would be even better Image IPB

And if you've finished the main quest this DLC is as useless as the exiled prince which I foolishly wasted my money on. I want story DLC not fluff

The Exiled prince...ah yes...the first "cha-ching" wasted on DLC. That storyline was flat out BORING. Would it not have been better to actually TRAVEL to his land??? Nope...we are imprisoned in DorkWall. My favorite parts were the Mines and Sundermount, oh and the deep roads. A CHANGE OF SCENERY!

There's a slight difference.  Im only complaining about folks who ****** and moan about not getting what they want like some 2 year old child.  Where as the rest of the folks like yourself, do nothing BUT complain about this game and it's content.  Either play the game or dont.  Either buy the content or dont.  Your ****ing and moaning isnt going to make them release content any faster.  It really is that simple.

For what it is worth we are continuing to work on story dlc, it's just that these have been pushed back in order to give them the time necessary to properly address not only the feedback from DAO DLC (which was always the plan), but also what we can address (within the limits of DLC) from the post launch DA2 feedback.  So basically, these will take time - we'll talk about them officially when we get closer.

very, very good news and thank you for sharing/confirming it. good to know both that you're trying to address the concerns and not rushing it

Yes, we're looking at an update to the HRT pack (or possibly optional second HRT pack download) which will cover the items in these packs.

Let me guess they are going to be supported only by users of Windows Vista and 7 (Dx 10&11).

Phew.

Already bought, but really would like more story DLC. I finished the first play through a few weeks back and it feels like the story is unfinished with the way the ending came so abruptly--just like the first and second LoTR movie or the latest HP. There really does need to be more.Image IPB

Just read the updated press conference blog/post/whatever on the PSN status. Long story short, it's looking like although PSN will be back up within the next couple of days, the PSN STORE may not be back up until the end of May >.>

If that's the case, *throws hands up* As much as I'd like to get this DLC, I probably wont if this is indeed true. Because although I like DA2, Im not putting my last few playthoughs on hold for a month because PSN doesnt want to bring it's store services back up at the same time as it's other features. Which ultimately, may not be so bad because that'll be $5 that we can put toward gas for my wife's vehicle.

Which may not seem like much to some, but in Michigan gas is nearly $5 a gallon atm. Im not mad at BW. This wasnt their doing lol. Im just going to be totally pissed at sony if this is indeed true. Been doing some searching on this topic as well and there are alot, as in A LOT of people who are just out right selling/trading in their PS3s because of this whole thing.

And if the situation warrants, my wife and I may be among them >.>

I'll try to address some of the more common points from the posts here...

Where is my story dlc?
For what it is worth we are continuing to work on story dlc, it's just that these have been pushed back in order to give them the time necessary to properly address not only the feedback from DAO DLC (which was always the plan), but also what we can address (within the limits of DLC) from the post launch DA2 feedback.  So basically, these will take time - we'll talk about them officially when we get closer.

Why item packs?
Very simply, these were quite successful in both DAO and ME2 both in terms of sales and also usage data, indicating that the demand is there.  So while we get that a lot of our forum users prefer story content (which we also enjoy, hence also working on that), make no mistake that there is indeed an audience out there that loves to customize their characters as well as do their replays with premium gear, so these have a place in our DLC plan.  And while I would have loved to have us release a story dlc first, see above for why that was not possible.

Game needs more fixes
We absolutely recognize that there are players that are still running
into issues on DA2.  PC patch 1.02 and consoles update 1.01 came out roughly a month after game launch and were the first major patch, delivering over 100 fixes but its not possible for these to address everything.

What they did address was most of the high volume & impact issues we could detect from our gameplay data that players can opt in to send, and that we could execute on quickly - trying to balance effectiveness of the patch for as many players as possible, with timeliness to get it to their hands.

That's not to say we're ignoring everyone else - far from it.  We didn't stop there, and the patch team has continued working on other issues as reported by you here and are currently in the process of testing the next major patch, which contains even more fixes than the previous one.  The next patch addresses many of the issues that took longer to pin down and thus did not make it into the 1.02/1.01 patch.  You can follow that progress (and contribute to it) on the tech forums for the appropriate platform.

Hope that helps,
F.

Thank you for that response Fernando. While it doesn't change the fact I hate Barbie (nickle and dime) DLC it is good to know you are putting effort into the story type DLC. While I cannot promise I would buy it given how it will be set in a game I do not like (for many various reasons) especially if it means I would be forced to replay DA2 in order to play the DLC but it is good to know that unlike DA2 which lets be honest was rushed through development in order to bring out due to EA schedules and/or your timed release per quarter quota, at least your not going to rush the DLC story type ones with fingers crossed a lot of new maps and story and items not just another return trip to Sundermount or cave (x) or (y) again. It's a shame you couldn't have learned that lesson with approach to DA2 but with story progression DLC at least it's a start.

There is also the knock on effect that may reduce the chance of me buying the DLC simply due to the Sony hack situation where I still don't know how much of my data was stolen specifically how reliable and safe PSN is now regarding my credit/debit card info and if doesn't feel safe obviously I will not be buying DLC on there at all for any game until is. Though thats not your fault it will have an impact on sales of your DLC and also the fact PS3 users cannot patch their games with any patch you make because PSN being down so we can't apply your patches regardless.

Image IPB

I still respect Sony at least they admit their faults and apoligise and promised free items and subscription to PSN Plus, but if I don't feel safe buying on their network I don't see how I can buy your DLC. I can't see Laidlaw ever doing such a thing being the face of DA2, therefore no cookies for him and very little respect towards him for the way in which he has put his opinions forward neglecting the fans opinions in favour of propaganda and this new fanbase wishes to create, you on the other hand I have gained some for given the way you handled your response and it's content.

Just bought it, looks great! Esp the mage mask. Almost sinister. Just started a new campaign with the warrior setting. Forget all the negative BS Bioware. Ready for the storyline DLC. Loved the game. Only complaints of the game: I want more! Image IPB

Hmm, to be perfectly honest, I think that is pretty weak. I haven't played DAII in over a month because I want the most glaring issues like broken quests and savegames being imported incorrectly to be fixed first, and now you are bringing out new DLC already.
I don't want to rain on anyone's parade, if you want to buy it go right ahead, but really BW, I was hoping that you would have different priorities right now. I won't buy any DLC until the game I already paid for is doing the things it is supposed to do.

:huh:Damn, that sounded awfully harsh. When did I become so bitter? Never mind, I stand by what I said.
