Why item packs?
Very simply, these were quite successful in both DAO and ME2 both in terms of sales and also usage data, indicating that the demand is there. So while we get that a lot of our forum users prefer story content (which we also enjoy, hence also working on that), make no mistake that there is indeed an audience out there that loves to customize their characters as well as do their replays with premium gear, so these have a place in our DLC plan. And while I would have loved to have us release a story dlc first, see above for why that was not possible.
I know that this is old, and im not sure if someone already said this cause there are so many pages >.< if, so I apologise deeply.
But I just wanted to respond to this, that DAO and ME 2, were fully released games and did not exactly have the same faults as DA 2... DA 2, many feel like was so unbelievably rushed that they get very sick with seeing the same area's over and over again... they also felt like you created this in a hurry so you could squeeze out money.
I personally dont mind these little item DLC packs. I encourage others to pay them as long as the game itself was fun, and felt like they were properly done. With DA 2 however, its just so painfully obvious that it was so rushed, it just doesnt feel complete at all. Therefore I personally do not feel motivated to buy any item DLC, and it pretty much has the opposite effect on me, it makes me disgusted at the company presenting them, only reinforcing the idea that they are milking the Fans of the product for money.
That might not be the case, but I really feel that releasing item DLC for a half done game, (please note that DA O and ME 2 did not feel half done and was generally greeted with more positive feedback.) is a bad move because it only reinforces the idea that the company only wants to milk it for money. I do not understand the logic of saying "Because it had such great success in ME 2 and DA O" DA 2 cannot be compared to the former two in my opinion... if it was any other company besides Bioware, I would have given up on the company. But you guys got a great history of releasing great games and DLC, I wont let you go that easily.

The next story DLC I will certainly buy because I want this company to flourish and release more DA games and DLC for me to enjoy. But not in the way of how DA 2 went..
I hope it doesnt appear as if im talking out of my ass, and it doesnt go unheard. Im also terribly sorry for ranting like this on one little thing. What ive written, is solely my opinion and if it looks like as if im trying to speak for a whole group then I apologise that was not my intention.
