Sorry, I'm a role-player, not really in it for the tactical combat. I thought I'd disclose my difficulty level so the guy who asked the question would know whether or not to take my advice with a grain of salt.

Seriously Bioware? As if it's not enough the caverns/sewers maps are all the same just with some doors sealed shut while others are open. And now we get a few items we can easily get from game mods (I see this is aimed at console gamers who can't take advantage of mods).

I prefer the evolving weapon fanmod - its free and the weapons grow in power with Hawke. Priceless.

Anybody know why those big two handed swords you get with the pack don't level up with the character? The rest of the weaponry does so why don't these?

As for new story based DLC, i just hope it isn't like most quest in the game, where you enter the same doors to go to wildly different places or enter the same room/cavern/sewer four different ways, that was a bit of a let down. Didn't stop me from doing three playthroughs, but i lost track on how many playthroughs i did on DA:O and it's save to say that with DAII i won't have that problem.

Not to mention that paying to have my gud ol' Legion of the Dead armor back with a new name feels like....

Just announced for the next DLC.

Texture pack!

"Now, instead of visiting the same 4 places over ten years, you can visit the same 4 places...... with different textures! Choose from grassy, extremely grassy, foggy, mildly foggy, or even pitch-black dark for those 'caves' you wander around. Feel like a brand new Champion (but not really).

Be diferent. Be distinguished. Be the same Champion of Kirkwall everyone else is!"

@Ishmaeltheforesaken & Siduri Thanks for the feed back I've went ahead and d/l'ed and installed it. Have yet to play through the game with them yet as I just walked in the door from work.<LOL> Glad I'm off till Sat night.<G>

@Luke Barret Quick question for you which I know you should be able to answer this one freely without given things away. Why is there only one Crossbow in the whole game and that is the one for which Varric is using?  Didn't Bioware think that some of us players would like to have the opportunity to use a crossbow as opposed to bow and arrows? I persnally prefer a cross bow over a bow and arrow.

Thanks for the reply. I've got the points yet I'm still trying to decide whether or not to download the DLC. How good in your opinion is the other stuff the rings, amulets,  and weapons?

It's all very good. The follower-specific items are almost game-breakingly good. I had *such* an easier time with the playthrough I did after I got the DLC, I considered upgrading to "Hard" difficulty...but in the end I decided I enjoyed breezing through every obstacle on Normal :)

Really?  Stats-wise, they don't look that much better than what's in the base game.

On Xbox there's been the evolving weapon mod almost as long as the PC guys.
On the xbox you can change item and character models and change the properties of any item in game.  Only PS3 users with encrypted saves couldn't make these items for their games.
Obviously PC offers a greater scope than any console for mods, but this type of stuff is v. basic.

Didn't I read that these DLC weapons upgrade as you level up anyway? Or do you mean something different by "evolving"?

Varric's Crossbow is specifically a Repeating Crossbow and is a unique, lore-based circumstance, so as far as you should be concerned there aren't any crossbows :) All I can tell you is that there was a deliberate reason for this

The DAO crossbows did get any damage boost from dex/str so obviously they weren't really crossbows anyways! :P

People can watch others play basketball or football for free. Why would they ever pay for tickets to watch others play those games?

Insanity, I suspect.

A better question would be why they want to watch others play basketball or football in the first place.

It's fun. Also, watching big sweaty muscular dudes grabbing at each other can be invigorating.
