No offense to anyone, as I respect your right to voice (type) your opinion, but I guess I can't understand why one would complain about DLC. If you don't like it, you aren't forced by anyone to purchase it. I was not thrilled with the lack of quality armor from the start of the game until you can get the Champion set. That issue was relatively fixed with this DLC. I also hoped for weapons for a rogue or mage that leveled w/ the character... also done. Now, the only peeve(s) I have is that as primarily a rogue player, I read numerous posts complaining that the great looking dagger set from the demo/Varric beginning were not actually in the game and I agreed. I hoped that the DLC daggers would fix that issue but instead they (to me) look like giant butcher knives. It also would have been nice to post the actual stats of all the items so those reluctant to purchase the DLC could make a completely informed decision. I didn't buy the DAO DLC that didn't have "the warden" as a playing character. But, I also didn't complain that they made it just because i didn't want it. I guess I'm all for having as many options as possible...

No offense taken on this end here. But I agree it would have been allot better if BW would have posted the stats of the items in the item pack<s> So that we could make the decision to buy or not to buy before putting out our money for something wasn't that much better than what was already in the game. Like I said the warrior pack nothing of real content there and only 2 things evolve. If I knew that I would've saved my $5.

Like both the rogue pack and the mage pack. Great that the mage finally has some actual armor at a low level (I hate robes). Just kind of sad that Malcolms Honor doesn't have a blade on the end of it.

I am a little disappointed in the warrior pack, it's not incredibly unique and the Orlesian gold armor is kind of ridiculous looking. The Swords are cool though.

Everything looks really cool though, definitely more like this please, I like all the unique outfits and weapons.

am i the only person who thinks that this mage set of armor reminds him of jack of blades from the original fable?

Not really, Jack of Blades outfit looks far more badass than the Apostate's Mask!

I'm not really a fan of the apostates mask outfit. As I said above, I'm not really a robe guy. xD

More to the point why weren't these Items in the dlc included in with the game for god sake. Even more to the point why do those who have the game have to fork out £5 for this dlc. Why should we have to pay for something that should have been included with the game.

We shouldn't, simple.

I believe the idea is that we aren't being required to buy extras that were beyond the scope of the basic package. The basic package included everything necessary that could be completed in the time alotted.

Any development project must limit the scope of the product, else it could never be complete.

Consequently, in order to deliver what was required the basic package is determined and the production is carefully planned. Anything else desired beyond what was planned as part of the basic package can be put into the 'nice to have' category and possibly built and released later, as DLC.

This way I get the full product I intended to purchase in the first place, on time, on budget, and in the required quality.

The extras I could do without I don't have to buy. Their development doesn't delay the final product, but they are made available as they are completed.

It also doesn't hurt that elements of the development staff that otherwise might have been let go can be retained until they are needed for another project, reducing Human Resources expenses in the long run.

It is really a win/win situation unless you are one of those people who always expect something for nothing.

I'm now playing a rogue and have a total of +10% attack speed modifier on my items just from dlc items, this is awesome xD Also one of the daggers does nature damage and this will help with tough physical resist bosses.

+1 BW, nice item pack

There is one thing I do wish, regarding DA2 DLC. Once you install some, you cannot get rid of it save by uninstalling everything and reinstalling everything else.

Would that it were as simple as it was in DA1.

Yeah, that mask is awful. I like the resistances that individual pieces of the mage pack offer, but that last outfit...yeah, not my favorite. My femHawke doesn't dig hiding her face like that.

I liked the initial mage outfit better (the one with the metal shoulder statue-of-liberty-crown thingie).Towards the end of the game, I switched over to the Champion garb, just because I was tired of looking at that weird mask and bathrobe.

I love the rogue pack! Now I just need to play another warrior...

Can you use them right away or do you need to level up to a certain point first?

They have level requirements. The low-tier sets are around 5-9, while the upper tier sets are around 13-17.

Some of the stuff you can use when you obtain them either in Gamelan's house or your estate like the rings and amulets. Some of the Armor and weapons you can't use til you are a certain level. Like I said the warrior pack was a big let down as far as the weapons and armor go.

Yeah the first Mage outfit is excellent. I never actually played Mage before that came out because I just didn't like the way my Hawke looked in the robes and such. Always wanted some actual armor with a bit of robey-ness to it like that.

As for the second outfit, I dunno, it just doesn't do it for me, the shoulders are way too huge on the robe, and it's clearly just a reskin of the Viscounts stuff. All well and good, but I just don't really like the looks of it. It's basically just too much robe for my liking. Luckily after growing out of the first mage outfit I found some outfit called the infamous pirate or something, and that looks really cool on my mage. That will hold me over well enough until I get the robes of the champion.

I do wish Malcolms honor had a blade on the end of it as opposed to the blunt mace thing. Sort of like the Staff of Parlathan is set up.

The warrior pack is okay, but it doesn't feel very new. The first outfit is just the Legion of the Dead armor, and I never really liked the look of that on a human. The second is pretty ridiculous looking.  A little too loud for my tastes.

I know I'm about 10 pages late, but I just wanted to thank Fernando for addressing our questions. I know people are wanting more info but I also know it's probably too early to be more specific. At any rate, thank you very much!

In the spirit of suggestions (rather than complaints, though it is pretty hard to differentiate), I completely agree with the previous posts that the first mage DLC armor is very cool looking because it is not too robe-like. I have seen very, very few helms or hoods or hats that I like in the game 9and that seem to match the armor) so I usually hit the hide setting. I also agree that a staff that looks more weapon-like (blade please) would be great, but more than that even, if it levels up like the DLC staff, please toss on at least one rune slot so we can put say the lyrium rune on in act 3. I hope this doesn't come across as too complainy since I complained about complaining! My hope is that should there be one or more equipment DLCs to come that the devs will read this stuff and take note. Hope you're all having a great day and thanks for letting me participate in the conversation.

A joke or what BW ? If you do DLC at least some story and gameplay improvements ... nothing more to say, only people who haven't to work "real" for their money would buy such things ...
no thanks to that, apart DA2 wasn't a memorable game ...

I work for my money and I still bought the combo pack with no regrets. I loved the new items, especially the new 2h sword. It was really nice of BioWare to have seperate packs as an option, in case you only wanted them for a specific Hawke.

BioWare has said they are working on story DLC and they have already made a patch. A second patch is in the works too. Do you expect quality story DLC so soon after release? This item pack will keep me busy until it does come out.

It's nothing more than a matter of opinion. I also loved dragon age 2, more than origins, despite it's flaws.

People's: there has to be an item generator out there. Hell, I'm pretty sure I saw someone posting their homemade item packs for download on another forum recently.... get those for FREE. Stop feeding the beast. It will only want more. What's next? Crucial plot quest dlc? Character dlc? Game wasn't finished, here's the ending dlc? Oh, wait we already have those... thanks.

There you go.It is a matter of opinion.DA 2 was just ok to me.If you enjoyed it .Cool.As far as the DLC.I looked at it and the armor is Fugly. The daggers should be returned to the butcher shop they stole them from. The bow is still in its packing crate. The rings and ammys are really nice though. They definately will come in handy.I wont buy the items DLC but if someone else does.Enjoy.It's your money and how you spend it is your buisness not mine.I will check out any story dlc but I expect that to take awhile. Then I wait till people review it.

And those mods a) aren't available to console users, and B) don't feature new models/textures.

I support paying for DLC. This new item pack is totally worth it, and I think the developers deserve to be paid. The end.

The Orlesian mage attire reminds me of V from V for Vendetta.
