How about a DLC that switches out the maps used for dungeons and houses? I'm really sick of seeing the same stupid mine and mansion levels repeated everywhere. :P

I'll be honest... if BioWare to release something like that (and I doubt they would; the game is as it is, there's no changing that), I'd object to being asked to pay for it. I probably would pay anyway, but a pack to diversify the vanilla game's environments should be free.

Now if an expansion was released that would add new layouts to DA2's existing dungeons/caverns/homes in addition to new quests and stuff. I'd pay cash for that naturally.

Heh heh.  I sense an epic fail in te force.  Pre-order items aren't anything new and usually you stop using them before  the game ends ;)

Pre-order or not with items or without who cares about them but...
DA2 Signed Edition is nothing compared to CE edition of The Witcher 2. THATS a proper CE release!

You don't think the developers deserve to get paid for DLC?

Not for dlc's like this they don't. A modder could make this in a weeks time....for free. This whole micro-dlc business is a rip-off scheme, however you want to put it.
I will gladly pay and support the developers for proper dlc's like Awakening, Shadow Broker, Fallout dlc packs, GTA4 dlc, etc...but I will try not to support micro-dlc. In some cases the developers actually include stuff on the game disc itself, but then lock it away and sell it to you as dlc. So you basically pay for a 124KB digital key that unlocks content already present on your game disc. It is corporate greed at it's finest.

They don't deserve anything for THIS.  Given what DA2 is, they should be giving it away as an apology to their fans.

I still remember times when people were enjoying the game as it is. Baldur's Gate, NWN plus expansions, NWN 2 plus expansions then we had an Oblivion and some stupid DLC with a horse cover or something and suddenly everyone started to make DLC with anything and asked to be paid!
Dont get me wrong. Whoever is doing something as part of his work should get paid for that but don't go into extremes where we should pay for anything cause someone have put some wotk into it.
With that way of thinking we should pay for all the FREE mods made by modders cause they have put some work into that.
Any DLC that adds items to a game should be free cause it doesn't change anything in game, we still have to do the same things to finish it. A story DLC's are a different story.

Only problem with TW2 is that it's a system killer and it has clunky combat.

Well DA2 needs to sell better so it's either make it up by making and selling good DLC's or give some free DLC's to encourage sale of the main game.

At least size of the box compensates for something!  :D

I think that it should be the opposite...owners should give some money to Bioware as an apology for constantly  bashing DAII even though it doesn't deserve it.Although I really wouldn't mind some free item packs.

Witcher II's first free DLC is 90ish minutes long and doesn't cost a penny/cent/dollar, yet DA2 fans are being asked to pay for a few items. It really says a lot about the different forces (EA) at work here. But in the end people vote with their wallets and I will not open mine for some items. I bought all of the DA:O DLC except the Feastday gifts/items. Considering all the items you get in-game and also from promotions I can't fathom paying for more items. Items should be a bonus in story DLCs (ie. Return to Ostagar) if anything IMO.

The items greatly enhanced my character and the characters of preference I use often. It's a shame you ignored the Feastday pack for DA:O because it adds massive affection points and powers to help in the story, particularly the dwarf and Morrigan- who is such a ****, and with unlimited gifts- she is 100& on your side, plus some comical things that are a light touch for the game, the affects of which can be reversed after.

In the case of a severely broken game like DA:2, I think the first major storyline DLC should be for free. It certainly would ease the blows of releasing a half-azzed game for BioWare loyalists, of which I am not and never will be

:o.

Well said.  I'm not trying to start anything here but I really didn't feel that I got my money's worth out of the main game, so I just don't see myself rewarding Bioware any further for a few measly items.

I've been playing Witcher 2 since yesterday morning and it's just worlds apart from what Bioware gave us.  Seriously, you would have thought that the veteran Bioware would have developed W2 while the lesser celebrated CD Projekt would have released DA2.
