Witcher II's first free DLC is 90ish minutes long and doesn't cost a penny/cent/dollar, yet DA2 fans are being asked to pay for a few items. It really says a lot about the different forces (EA) at work here. But in the end people vote with their wallets and I will not open mine for some items. I bought all of the DA:O DLC except the Feastday gifts/items. Considering all the items you get in-game and also from promotions I can't fathom paying for more items. Items should be a bonus in story DLCs (ie. Return to Ostagar) if anything IMO.

I know I was shocked myself when I installed TW2 CE and got the Mystery merchant and the Armor and the first 90 Minute DLC. I'm playing TW2 currently. So far like it better than DA2.

DA2 Signed Edition is nothing compared to CE edition of The Witcher 2. THATS a proper CE release!

Only problem with TW2 is that it's a system killer and it has clunky combat.

They don't deserve anything for THIS.  Given what DA2 is, they should be giving it away as an apology to their fans.

You don't think that's a little harsh?

Well DA2 needs to sell better so it's either make it up by making and selling good DLC's or give some free DLC's to encourage sale of the main game.

Well now how do you figure that TW2 is a system killer? I've got no problems running it as even with other things running in the Background.

What setup do you have? If you max it , you'll get 10-20 fps, even on a high end pc.  Main killer is Ubersampling, if you turn it off fps improves somewhat. Generally people with average or less specs will struggle, they'd have to tweak some video settings and not everyone is knowledgeable about that.

Plus TW2 combat is unintuitive.

I loved Origins, and DA2, but seemed so short. Alot of people on here keep talking about (is it) Witcher 2? I have an xbox. Would you recommend this? What older RPGs could you compare it to? Or if any of you have good recommendations; it would be appreciated. Want something to play while waiting for DA2 expansion.

It's not available on Xbox (yet), but who knows if that will change. If you have a PC that can handle it, I would more than recommend it, the game is just downright amazing. If you're curious, plenty of the reviews that are circulating around do well to sum it up.

Yeah man!  I need to push the awesome button!  Again and again and again and again and again and again and again and again and again and again and again and again again and again and again and again!

Eventually something awesome will happen!

CDProjekt just doesn't get it!

TW2 combat unintuitive? I dont think so, have you guys played it, you have alot of control....i love DA2 too, but there is nothing wrong with TW2...there is enough room in the universe for several great RPG's they dont all have to compete with each other, nor do people have to idolize any one game like its a football team, anyway they are both great games and it would be boring if all rpg's were the same :)

Im playing witcher 2 right now and i cant stop asking....what are you doing bioware? The senarios in DA2 are very poor and repetitive compared with witcher2, and dont have half of the detail.

the witcher 2 is the game to beat, bioware, learn from it. the only downside i can think of bout witcher 2 is no character creation.

Really enjoying the new items and the price for the bundle is near perfect imo.

One thing though,if I'm paying for new gear I want to be able to use it straight away not make a new character and grind until I'm high enough to use it.

Or was I supposed to equip the items on my main char and run around the Hawke estate in the new gear?

If you can't be bothered to let us have free-play after the main quest then don't lock new content that we've paid for.

You don't think the developers deserve to get paid for DLC?

They don't deserve anything for THIS.  Given what DA2 is, they should be giving it away as an apology to their fans.

I think that it should be the opposite...owners should give some money to Bioware as an apology for constantly  bashing DAII even though it doesn't deserve it.Although I really wouldn't mind some free item packs.

Really? Well you could always put your money where your mouth is and send Bioware some free money to show how bad you feelPosted Image

Sorry, too busy playing The Witcher 2. Did you say something BioWare? I was so caught up in PLAYING A PROPER SEQUEL that it's so hard to hear your attempts to milk money from a horrible game.

Are you high ? If so I want some of the stuff you take, seems quite potent.
DA2 has NOWHERE the content of DAO, NOWHERE near the quality of the story, NOWHERE near the athmosphere. The only reason this poor excuse of a game has a playtime of 20-30 hours is because everything is repeated ad nauseum. Copy and paste ftw.
Yeah, definitely reward Bioware for a rushjob that is WAY overpriced and then even trying to milk even more money for trinkets. I bought the new Fallout New Vegas DLC, about double the price of this crap but you know what ? I already got several hours of fun gameplay out of it...what did you get for your money ? A handful of textures any modder would have done in a day without problem for FREE.
So yeah...all rush and REWARD Bioware.

And thanks for the inofficial announcement of DA3...you might get a surprise on sales numbers with that one, Bioware. Only reason you sold so much of DA2 was the old fans desperatly hoping it wouldn't be THIS bad and who still preordered. Many won't trust you anymore with DA3 being anywhere close to being worth a full price.
You better pull some cute marketing tricks out of your pocket (ask your big mom EA for tips, they are great at hyping the living crap out of mediocre to bad games) to get your former fans to buy that one.

I fear for ME3, but I will buy that one. Dragon Age is dead.

Oh, and I bought witcher 2, hope I like it as much as many here. Maybe it washes away some of the bad taste DA2 left in my mouth.

Oh and what does it say about the backing of DA2 when DA3 has been announced...I mean WTF!?

Where did you hear the announcement of DA3? I've yet to see anything about this here.

MassFrost- couldn't agree with you more the game is amazing as I'm currently playing TW2. TW2 gets two thumbs up from this gamer.

I've been a rather large bioware fan for quite some time.
DA2 was no where near the quality I expect from Bioware. It felt no where near the level of awesome of ME2 or DA. SUPER short. Meh story (Which is pretty bad for the Bioware side). Fun Combat. Meh Graphics. The same 4 areas and same 4 houses for the ENTIRE GAME.

This DLC just leaves a bad taste in my mouth after the game.

I would like to point out, people who preordered the game also got free DLC. Just like TW2 did.

Yeah. After DA2, which I pre-ordered, I definitely will NOT be pre-ordering DA3. I feel stupid for being optimistic for DA2 before it came out. I blindly put on rose-colored glasses and said, "Oh come on. It will be great! It will be awesome!" I was wrong, so wrong, and I admit it. And I'm definitely NOT buying item DLC for DA2. I might purchase story-related DLC, but if I do, this time I'll wait for other people to buy first, and read their reviews.

And to the person (sorry I can't remember your username) who posted if Bioware was reading any of this... Probably not. Most people don't like to hear over and over about how they screwed up.

Same here. I preordered DA2 because i trusted Bioware to make a sequel that has the same RPG quality as his predecessor. I blame myself that i couldnt wait until other player wrote their reviews about DA2.
From now on, i will wait until there enough User reviews (not critics reviews) to decide if i buy a DLC or the next installment of Dragon Age.

Bioware should take a hint from CD Projekt and begin making these item packs and other micro-transactions free for people to download. I don't mind paying for story-related dlc's and expansions (as long as they're better than Sebastian and Awakening) but they do need to take more time with them than just throwing whatever they can at us in the smallest amount of time.

And this is exactly why we need a toolset, and a toolset designed to be useful even for novices. With a toolset the modding community will keep the players occupied while Bioware make those larger DLC's.

DA:O , DA ,Awakenings, and DLC is a huge package of RPG . Wish they put the love and passion for gamers in DA 2. Even the original Witcher destroys DA2 . I really hope they take a good 3 or 4 years to create and build DA3.
