I've been a rather large bioware fan for quite some time.
DA2 was no where near the quality I expect from Bioware. It felt no where near the level of awesome of ME2 or DA. SUPER short. Meh story (Which is pretty bad for the Bioware side). Fun Combat. Meh Graphics. The same 4 areas and same 4 houses for the ENTIRE GAME.

This DLC just leaves a bad taste in my mouth after the game.

I would like to point out, people who preordered the game also got free DLC. Just like TW2 did.

Yes but as for the story DLC for which everyone got with TW2; even those that didn't pre-order the game; was a nice little surprise. Not to mention the fact that it didn't cost nothing.<G> As for pre-ordering another game I don't know if I will. Might just wait and see what others think about it before I buy it. BW made me a skeptic or pre-ordering especially their games.

Bioware should take a hint from CD Projekt and begin making these item packs and other micro-transactions free for people to download. I don't mind paying for story-related dlc's and expansions (as long as they're better than Sebastian and Awakening) but they do need to take more time with them than just throwing whatever they can at us in the smallest amount of time.

And this is exactly why we need a toolset, and a toolset designed to be useful even for novices. With a toolset the modding community will keep the players occupied while Bioware make those larger DLC's.

I think this is what stings the most to me, I played Origins and DA2 fully on Xbox but I played Origins on PC too for a while and loved the mods available, some of the items, custom dungeons and many other things were simply amazing and above all, free for people to download, compared to the very few things Bioware themselves sell at a price at somewhat adequate items, for example, this item pack and the various item packs released in ME2.

somewhat adequate items

They aren't even adequate. If it were a free DLC, I would not be as harsh. However, the resolution of the textures - especially the weapons - is unacceptably poor. I won't be purchasing future item packs until BW figures out a way to deliver high-res textures for DLC. Mod authors have been doing it for months now.

They said they'd release a new version of the high res pack that includes the DLC. Looks like they lied.

And you arrived at May 23 as the deadline for truthfulness... how?

If you bought this crap for a game that has many flaws and issues, it's clear you support EAware's nickle and diming.

How long can it possibly take to release high res textures of the DLC armour? That's how.

Look at the date when this pack was released. Look at the date now. There is no excuse for an update to the high res pack taking this long. That's all I'm saying. If they actually do update it sometime in the future, it would be too late for me to care anymore.

I think BIOWARE is choosing to market to the casual gamer. Casual gamers don't use toolsets, they don't see if a dlc is lowres or not and there are a lot of them = much biger market. I think they tried with DA2 to apease both casual and more RPG orientated gamers their usual fanbase. I suppose they found out it backfired. But even now you people in the US and UK have it better with BIOWARE'S poor choises. You at least could opt to preorder or buy DA2 signature edition, you have DAO Ultimate Edition at a decent price. Not so where I live. Only normal DA2 edition at full price (50€) and still normal edition DAO + Awakening each 20€. Talking about getting screwed by big company stategies. Of couse you can opt to buy online in the UK but how many casual players will do that.
I am also holding on to my seat concerning ME3. Everytime they use the word casual gamer I sy!!!
Will defenetly buy ME3 to end the trilogy but for the rest will refrain until after release and reading reviews. But then again if the more hardcore RPGers will wait for review by other gamers who will that be? We know we can't trust the paid reviewers but will and can casual players write a decent review? I somehow doubt it!!

Causual gamers DO use toolsets, at least indirectly by downloading and installing mods. Not everyone will need to have the actual toolset but the products that competent modders produce sure are used by many.

Yes and no. I speak mostly from experience with TES and FO3/NV, but on Nexus the most endorsed mod of all time on Oblivion had 226,000 unique downloads or so and 270,000 on FO3. The top one for Dragon Age Origins (Dragon Age Redesigned)? Only 90,000. That's a relatively small number of people when compared to the overall gaming population. I love mods, I would use them, I would even buy DA2 on PC and perhaps pay for a toolset if that option became available, but it is a subset of PC gamers that is growing but still far from the majority or even a sizable minority. That's probably driving the Bioware's foot-dragging on the issue more than anything. People who love mods are vocal, but I'm betting you even more people bought this DLC item pack than regularly use mods.

I say all of this, again, thinking a toolset would be great. I do wish they made using mods in dragon age origins even easier. I had a tough time even understanding how you load them into DAO, and that's coming from someone who regularly uses the GECK and TES Construction Set.

You know what's really bizarre is that for slightly more than the item pack, you can go to GoodOldGames and get Baldur's Gate 2 which is actually a better game than DA2, let alone a mere item pack for an already crappy game. Bioware needs to put out a free maps DLC so you can actually run a 2nd playthrough without seeing the same maps over and over again.

this games could have been better if the environments are not re-used over and over again with a short game and re-used environments the item packs should be free I just finished it within 1 week with so much bugs in it.

I can see why people would buy DLC for good games like origins and the mass effect series games but really DLC of dragon age 2 i dont want to sound harsh but the game was embrassing and needless to say a complete disappointment for a avid origins fan

That's not all you were saying; you were saying "they lied." But I understand what you meant to say now that you've clarified.

I agree. Really, high-res textures should be included in the original download. The only reason I can think of for them to be dragging their feet is maybe they'd like it to include the upcoming story DLC, and so are waiting for it to launch (or at least be announced) before they give us the texture pack.

Yeah that's what I'm hoping for too.

XBOX 360
- 1.) you need the Dragon Age 2 Patch 1.01, this patch will be installed automatically when you connect to XBOX live
- 2.) you have to start a complete new playthrough after the patch is installed. Play through the game and the achievements will unlock as you play.

After playing the abortion which was dragon age 2 its nice to play a game like the witcher 2 which was developed by rpg fans for rpg fans its a amazing game the best I have played in years it's what a sequel should be.And quess what I did not have to download a high texture pack just to make it some what pleasing on the eye.All we can do is pray that bioware learnt their lesson in regards to what people expect from a rpg

You completely skipped the step where he/she has to delete the prince DLC from the HDD then go to download history find it then re-download it ....
