That's great, what's it got to do with the item pack?Ashtorgrey wrote...
I've been playing the Witcher 2. Bioware this is how you do a sequel!!!!
Just purchased it (the item pack, not witcher 2, there are too many ****s fawning over it for me to spend money on it), hoping to take the new lewt out for a spin when the new patch comes out.

People have been venting here that feel like they've been shafted over DA2's recent Mass efect likeness.Funker Shepard wrote...

Like the item pack that's almost pointless, and dumming the game up for console players the porting it to pc. Generaly feels like a rush job, and charge Blck ops prices for it.

If I recall something correctly, dragon age forums used to be full of threads "please don't make pointless item pack dlc that don't bring any story into the game". I just thought that I'd point that out again.

I stated that I liked those items like 40 pages ago, but there's one thing.

Just got back the Store today and finally got the Packs, among other stuff finally, while what you say is partly true but some items have ties with companions but its just that, the warrior pack and rouge have no story to Hawke but the Mage pack "Apostate Legacy" has alot of backstory to it giving a bit more insight who Malcom Hawke was, afterall, all the info where what codex said about him and letter he exhange with the Templar mostly very vague info but this pack gives me more stuff to find out and overall its more fun now, since I stopped playing since PSN Store was down, got the pack and new patch so having fun now.

If you want to argue about real "dumbing down", Origins is more guilty of this than DAII. You can play the game on Normal, without any real need of strategy and preparation outside a couple of battles and failure to do so isn't nearly as painful as it is in let's say... Baldur's Gate II on its standard difficulty. I adored Origins, but let's not paint it as something it isn't; it isn't "hardcore" by any means.

I believe I can rest my case on mentality of console players based on your voluntary evidence
If you say so
Edit: Just as a side note. PC players are losing yet another title to us lowly consolers in the future. CD Projekt is making the announcement at E3 as a matter of fact. That's right, 360's getting TW2
The PC v Console debate is fruitless.

So how about those hi-res textures for this item pack (that really should have been there in the first place)?
They're "working on it."
My hope (which may or may not be a fool's hope) is that they want to include the upcoming story DLC in the high-rez update, and they're waiting on it (or at least its announcement) to release the new textures.
They totally should have been there in the first place, though. It's absolutely absurd to expect to have to update the whole high-rez pack everytime they release a new DLC. Just include high-rez textures with the DLC. Bad form, BioWare.

Where can i see the stats? I want to know what i'm bruying...
This is a post in this thread.
It has a link to an user's album showing how it looks, some stats, etc...
I don't understand why BW won't show this from the start
Beause if BW would have shown the stats and what items looked like many folks including myself wouldn't have spent the money on it. Speaking of money in word on a new story line DLC or patch? Sure seems to be taking BW a long time to put something out if you ask me.
The Witcher 2 hasn't even been out a month yet and they've already put out two patches and 2 DLC's for the game. And neither DLC cost us anything. Not to mention the fact that they are now going to be releasing the game for consoles. Them Polish sure know how to make a great game and sequil.

Let's see them release the free DLC for consoles and so many patches when XBL and PSN are going to charge them money to do that. I doubt all that awesome free support to the Witcher 2 is going to carry over. Thankfully when it's released for consoles it will likely already include the patches and the DLC.

As for the PSN and XBL I don't know how them systems work or how they are set in regards for playing games and such so I don't know how things are going to work for the consoles. You see I'm strictly a PC game player. But with them porting the game from PC to the gaming consoles maybe allot of the bugs for which we as pc gamers have found will have been worked out by then and so the console gamers won't have to worry about it. You'll just have to wait and see when the finally release it for the console at the end of the year.
Sorry that I can't give you more I'm just going by what I read on the TW2 site.

But yeah New Armour for $5 Is rather a lot considering I would have to play through again to take advantage of it as my Internet was down until the day after my free black emporium code expired . That or I could strut around in my house wearing it while Sandal screams about enchantments while swinging from the light fixtures.
Bring out story dlc and i'll happily spend my ms points on good looking Armour to wear while questing.

The "fan base" isn't enraged.
Some fans are, some aren't.
I happen to really like DA2. I am part of the fan base and I have been for over a decade since I first played Baldur's Gate and *my* opinion is just as valid as yours.
The mage armor could be prettier, but the codex entries are sweet. The new weapons are very nice looking, especially Malcom's Honor and Courage.
Thank you! It's nice to see I'm not the only one who feels this way. Yeah, DA2 needs some major improvements, but I like what they've done so far. It isn't DAO, but BioWare stepped out and tried something new and I liked that. With so many people voicing their dislike of some aspects of the game, it's safe to assume they'll make adjustments. Let's not give up on the company just yet, okay folks? There are a lot of fans with a lot of likes and dislikes. You can't give everyone what they want overnight.

*slow clap*
But honestly, in my opinion, you should not buy this. Why? It's quite simply a waste of money.
With or without the updated toolset, modders have been able to do even better (Leveling champion's armor + vaddin [console command to add item) = Thank you very much), for free, And, if you play on the console, then the argument stays quite valid because you'll be switching it for the champion's armor anyway on Act 3 and whatever artifacts (necklaces, rings) you'll find there.
It was bad enough you've released a DLC on day 0 (Sebastian, anyone?), but now you're selling virtual item packs?
I'll pass on it, thanks. Maybe when you actually add some story content instead of a shiny set of armor, I'll consider buying since the whole Bioware Points system is not what I would call practical.
