I of course bought this "DLC" and am fine with it, however it does seem like a bad PR move.

So how about those hi-res textures for this item pack (that really should have been there in the first place)?

PSN is finally back up so I have bought and installed the Item Pack. And it is Sweet!

Only downside is that they don't have a two-handed sword that improves with level up.

Agreed, as there tends to be a pretty big hole in 2h swords between the early game ones and then the end-game third chapter WMDs, with very little in-between (or maybe I'm just forgetting something, but that certainly has been my take across the 2,5 playthroughs so far).

That said, I really like this pack, it gives me the option of cutting down the time spent of tinkering with my companions gear (since, well, I like to keep them all in some kind of competitive shape, while sticking generally to three), while not actually forcing it on me.

If they weren't fixing stuff at all, I might agree with you, but they're genuinely patching the game. Also, you know what you get with one of these packs, so yeah. I'll refrain for saying this DLC was a shame or not based on the loot in the upcoming DLC's: if there's nothing good in those, I might start feeling somewhat shafted.

My main complaint, though, is that there's still a lack of any good (looking) armor for warriors: there's the Fallen-set you acquire during the final Act I mission... and then there's the final armor, which doesn't look thát practical whatwith the spikes and stuff. It's refreshing (but also disturbing) to see the mages get the better looking pieces of equipment this time around: their final armor is amazing, while the red robe in the Mage Pack looks pretty slick.

If I'd main mages, (or Anders could wear it) I wouldn't have hesitated to buy their equipment pack, but alas. The items in the Warrior Pack sadly aren't up to my tastes, so I'll pass on this one. Here's to hoping WP (or the story DLC) gives me what I want!

Hijacking this tread: Does anyone know when the next DLC is going to be released? I mean, I'm OK with this kind of stuff, I just want to know when the next DLC, whatever the content may be, will be out.

Don't we all! I was hoping there might be an announcement at E3, but so far no dice and if nothing has emerged as of yet, it probably won't this week. I would at least appreciate some vague details and a guesstimate, even if the date is far off. Bethesda had no problem doing that with FO3 and FONV, and BW released details on most of the ME2 and DAO stuff a month or more in advance. Even if your dates slip by a month or so, letting the fans know when to expect something new would be nice.

Can the next DLC include an ending to the game? Or a map or two to change up the repetitiveness? I'm actually stunned they haven't been able to give us some new maps for free... we're owed that at the very least.

I think the problem is that we (or most of us) enjoy the game so much, we'd like more DLC- as in plots, etc.

I can definitely see why you would be anxious for some DLC. I have beaten the game twice and when I do a 3rd
play-through (probably in July) I am hoping there will be some DLC on the way.

I hope that if they release something it isn't filler DLC. I want something that actually has to do with the plot. But at the same time, if they're working on DA3 then I'd rather them put it into that game instead of making a half-a**ed, rushed DLC.

I agree with the last few posts. It's been quite a while since the game came out and I too am wondering when there will be more story DLC to DA2....

I guess I don't blame Bioware for keeping us in the dark on this. As soon as they put an announcement on these forums it will likely be swamped with people stating how much of an outrage it is that they have to pay for DLC, that it's ridiculous that the DLC wasn't included in the game in the first place, that supporting DLC for DA2 is a waste of time because it's a horrible game that nothing can fix or improve, etc. etc.. It'll be a complete trollfest, so I can sympathize with why they would want to avoid posting an announcement about it on these forums until release is imminent.

RE: The item pack - I enjoyed having the gear, the stats were nice, but the devs must be laughing as most of the stuff is goofy looking (in my case - look at the warrior in the silly Lion Boots with Isabella's "Spatula City" daggers). I ended up paying the 100 gold for the King's Armor and found matching boots n gloves so I didn't look silly.

RE: more DLC - I vote skip it. Move on to DA3. DA2 is fun and done. Next.

"Sooner than later" is the maxim around here, but in this case, I'd say let BW take their time with story DLC. Primarily considering the fact that the base campaign was the result of an unrealistically rushed production schedule.

I think the art team (read: DX11 with the PC texture patch) and sound team (read: there's significant dialogue not included in the base campaign) did a great job, but somewhere along the way, the team responsible for the actual story campaign got shanked by an unrealistic deadline.

Anyone else notice that they seem to hate Warriors that use two-handed weapons? The Rogue gets two daggers that levels with them and a bow that levels with them. Even Mages get a staff that levels with them. Warriors have an Axe that levels with them and a long sword if you pre-ordered the game, and a shield...why not a two-handed sword?

In a game that has plenty of loot drop or bought from vendors, DLC packs like this are imo a waste. They worked well for ME2 becuase its short on weapons to start with.

Proper story based DLC with a few items in it is a far better way to do DLC packs in a game like Dragon Age.

Nods - as noted above - you do get 2 two handed swords.  Just about the time the first one is getting kind of average, the second one is accessable and there is no better sword in the game after that.

And I did like the renderings of the DLC two handed swords.  But the armor sets . . . Ugh.  Black Emporium with King's armor for the win.  Also, thank goodness for the "do not show helmet" option.

Seems like making the dlc is taking longer than the actual game
