Gabby the item packs improve in-game play alot especially on the harder settings, you will not be unrewarded for buying them :). Also they look better too :D

Just to be nitpicky, not all of the stuff looked better - in my opinion. I could have done without the naked-lady-on-a-stick. The rogue weapons that looked like they belonged to the Butcher from Diablo 1 - yeah could do without them too.

That said, I did much prefer the look of the DLC mage outfits to most of the stuff in game. It was also nice having jewelry items for companions that improved with level. Kind of wish Hawke had a piece of jewelry that did that but not a big deal.

For a moment I thought that was a hydra...it's just a dragon.

Is it just me or are hydras rare in video games?

The first DLC and it's items.... Bummer.
I was really hoping for something, you know, story related. Guess I'll just have to keep waiting.

erm so it's a before timeline? Cause my family is all dead and stuff to that achievment will be... difficult.

I like the naked lady on the stick, it gives you some insight into Mals personality, the bugger was kinky. the rogue armour could be less bulky so my girls can show off their assets. The mage second armour is perfect for a Mage looking to be Viscount.

Btw, did anyone beside me notice that the game is seriously easier with the mage, rogue, warrior
item pack? same with mabari and buyable items in the emporiom, you get early acces to this stuff and it makes the game to easy if u ask me, especially in the beginning, even if u play on NM,
so i just dont use em, however i bought em all, some things are good, like the flask to reset the skills
if you have choosen a skill you dont like so u can reset or the new companion: Sebastian...
I feel like I cheat if i use the other stuff, how think you all about this topic?
I love the challenge in DA, battles are hard and if u win and get new gear, thats an awesome feeling (:, however , when i equiped the dlc items on my war, there was a a dramatically change in the difficulty of the battles, so i left em behind on my other chars.
Generally, i dont like the idea of free gear <.< so...

I'm just wondering if there will be any hi-res textures released. The outfits are great but the textures are terrible :(

Yes, we're looking at an update to the HRT pack (or possibly optional second HRT pack download) which will cover the items in these packs.

So... any update on this? o_o

The update on the update is next planned DA2 DLC, tba.

(you'll be able to reply to it with the dialogue wheel and that will automatically generate a BSN post)

*waves $5 bill* you know you want this, BioWare. If you update your item pack to high resolution textures, it could be yours.

In principle I'm not against item packs or even paying a few bob for it. In fact, I love it!
But really BioWare, you guys need to increase the quality of armor and weapons you ask money for.
The first item pack really was a waste of money, especially the Warrior pack. A huge disappointment!
Please stop making such ridiculous looking sets (yeah you know exactly which set I'm talking about).
From the mods I've seen it seems like most of us are more interested in gritty, bad-ass looking armor. Something a bit more realistic.
I'll even list a few of these:
- Stonehammer armor
- Ser Isaac's armor
- Warden armor (we finally got this in Legacy. Could have been useful if not for the terrible flaps at the back)
- Champion armor
- Larius' armor (holding out hope for a mod making this available - but without the flaps at the back again)
These were done right!

I can also understand that moving cloth must have been an exciting development for you guys, but to be perfectly honest, it really sucks because you seem to deliberately try to design some outfits to exploit this mediocre new feature and it just isn't working.
This results in clipping galore and cloth sometimes (or most of the times) behaving completely unnatural, the worst examples being Flemeth's cape and the warrior armor we get in Legacy.

So please go ahead and release more item packs, but for the love of God, please do it right!

Oh, and please don't bother if you can't supply high-res textures. We still haven't got high-res for the initial item pack...shameful!

The cloth isn't new, but it doesn't seem to be something they support very well (and they only let it run in cutscenes with the vanilla content, it looks). It's a huge issue because it totally ruins Flemeth's cape/train-thing, but I don't have big issues with clipping at this point (every single piece of equipment is clipping into something in this game; you're complaining about a single grain of sand on the beach). Especially for mages, anything they can do to never again force the PC into those god awful robes is worth it IMO (I'm tired of wearing the strapping I receive the first year in Kirkwall for the entire game).

Regardless, the DLC items are unusable on PC right now. Most of the crap unlockables, the signature edition/Emporium gear, and the item packs cannot be tolerated when hi-res textures are enabled. Hopefully they will update the pack with not just the item pack textures, but the textures for the other "green" items and some of the vanilla items that somehow slipped by with only low-res textures ("hopefully" as in "it won't ever happen, but wouldn't it be nice if it did").

*snip*

I couldn't agree more. I really liked the higher-ranked rogue outfit, and the lower-ranked mage outfit (I used that, and the Blood Dragon helmet on my blood mage). I feel like if they made another pack with the same layout (two new sets for each class), and outfits that actually look like they belong in the world, it would be worth the money. New mage armor similar to the mage Champion's Armor would be nice. Maybe a warrior set with a massive silverite helmet like Juggernaut's Helm from Origins, instead of the weird black/orange/blue color scheme that came on King's Bounty.

So, uh... textures? Higher-res?

I'll also point out that the only "high-res' textures in Legacy were environment art. The Hawke's Key was lacking in texture clarity. I should hope that a texture pack for these items would also include the Legacy weapons.

You know, another thing that I think would be really cool would be if they could do an update for the high-res texture pack to include item pack and Legacy DLC items.
