Hi all,
in another thread I asked a similar question before, but there I was told to ask the question here. At the moment I try to create a kind of academy for magicians, but I´m confronted with fundamental problem I really need help with.
Is it possible that a magician, who visits the academy may not choose aspell, when they level up? I want the magicians only learn spells from NPCs as a quest reward. Of course the player should earn xp and level up while visiting the academy, but they should not be allowed to choose a spell.
If that would be possible, how does a script, that controls that should look like?

It would be a custom system, which modifies the UI for learning spells ( 010010 is developing a scriptable custom level up UI ), 2da's for classes, and creates features via scripts to allow the PC's to learn spells from NPCs or books or whatever else.
When i get my books system completed it should be able to do things like this, but it's quite a bit more to make happen than just scripting, by the time i will be able to give a real answer i'll be just about ready to release something that can do quite a bit of what you are describing.
