I've seen it. I had to go through the damn thing to check for unused dialogue for him. There were bits and pieces that were nice, but overall I found it ranged from hilariously awful to just cringeworthy. It didn't do either character involved any favors.

I did find it heartwarmingly creepy and hilarious at the same time.
I wouldn't be surprised if it's part of another one of those character fights that were cut out.
Which I'm very grateful for. It'd just feel forced.
Actually I'd love to have such an occassion. So that I could finish Jacob's loyalty mission and still lose his loyalty, hence having him die in the SM. I would do it even when I have enough Renegon points.
"Not ever action performed by my body is a result of conscious choices. I take responsibility for those that are."
It is also important to note that Thane was raised for the soul purpose of being a killing machine. For Jacob to judge Thane so harshly, he would also have to judge Grunt, Samara, even Miranda. And what, in the end, can he say?
'You're making some ****ed up life choices by dodging responsibility. Shape up, get over it, and move on.'
Grunt laughs Jacob out of the room. Samara tells Jacob to memorize 5000 sutras of the Justicar Code, then to read a heavy book about Asari society. Miranda tells Jacob that that's nice. I could go on.

what part of the game is this? Grunt never sees the debriefing room beforethe SM and Jacob and samara have an incredibly civilized conversation. is there some lost cutscenero something?
7 pages... You do know that this issue is long since resolved, right?
Shhhh.... Be quiet. The Devs are reading. they're going to make Jacob an even bigger badass than Garrus was in ME2.
I hope not. Garrus wasn't really that badass IMHO, I just hope they give him better dialogue and keep his charactr the same. Keep him stable Bioware!!!!!!!
they should just give up on making jacob into a character and just veg out by making him into a kung-fu fighting, blaxploitation cliche. we all know it would be an improvement. at least he'd be interesting.

Garrus wasn't a bad ass, he needed someone to hold his hand throughout the entire series. ME3 he's going to moan again about how much he wants Shepherd to kill someone for him.

Whether they accept it or not doesn't make it any less true.
I mean, what's your point? That, unlike Shepard, Jacob can't make Samara stop being a Justicar? Or that he lacks Shepard's ability to make a pacifist out of Grunt? Perhaps that he's mistaken about Miranda's chip on her shoulder replacing her brain about her own worth?
If your point was that Jacob couldn't judge Thane without judging anyone else... he can judge the others as well.

The mercs of Omega would beg to differ. Those that are still alive anyway.
Garrus is great in combat, don't get me wrong, but he's not a badass in a nonviolent way like Shepard. Force is his only option for badassery and even through that, he still got beat in the end and Shepard had to bail him out. I love the turian, despit ehim not listening, but he's just to overhyped. I dont' want Jacob to end up the same as some overhyped guy, he just needs to remain a stable character with better writing in ME3.not Combat though, he's great in combat.

Of course he could. I am just pointing out that his human reasoning wouldn't make sense, or even be relavant to their own reasoning processes. Hence, effort wasted. Grunt laughs, Samara scolds, etc etc.
And Shepard wasn't able to turn Grunt into a pacifist. Or deter Samara from the Code. Or Thane from his Drell mentality of solopsism. Ever. End of story.

Garrus is not even THAT uniquely badass in combat. That one Blood Pack leader Garm was stated to be his equal in battle and would have killed him had he not escaped when his reinforcements came.

'Human reasoning' has nothing to do with it. All of them have made life choices to embrace their identity, and their disfunctions. Samara chose to become a Justicar, and chooses to continue abiding by it. Grunt chooses to embrace violence. Miranda chooses to perpetuate her own identity issues. Thane is not forced to continue to adopt and maintain a cultural ethical defense.
None of them, in any sense, are obliged or forced by their biology to continue on the life paths they are on. We have plenty of examples from each species of alternatives.
And Shepard wasn't able to turn Grunt into a pacifist. Or deter Samara from the Code. Or Thane from his Drell mentality of solopsism. Ever. End of story.
Thane comes aboard the Normandy meets Jacob in airlock for scan.
Jacob:"Welcome to the Normandy, now I just need to do a quick scan before I let you on board." *Jacob waves Omni-Tool* Thane:"A fascinating ship from what I've seen so far." Jacob:"Yeah and we've got Shepard at the helm to boot. Can't think of to many women I'd follow to finish line." Thane:"Finish line?" Jacob:"Yeah you know... for the priize." Thane:"That term seems rather insulting. Among my people I would be more inclined to refer to her as Siha." Jacob:"Wait... you don't want a shot at the priize too? Do you? I mean you're an alien..." *Thane makes grumpy face* Jacob:"Well what?" Thane:"Stop saying 'priize'. You obviously have no actual respect for her." Jacob:"You know what? Nevermind... we'll have this conversation later. Knew it was a heavy risk to bring someone like you aboard."
But seriously is it like illegal to actually like Jacob and Kaidan?

Seems Kaidan has no problem getting fangirls. Poor Jacob however.
I dunno "JOKER'S WAITING FOR YOU ON THE BRIDGE!"?
Of course for me I play as a default Shepard my first go-around so Kaidan and Jacob don't really do anything to make me write them off as bad or uninteresting characters. Kaidan was probably the most interesting person to talk to after Wrex in ME1 to be honest.
I actually like some down to Earth characters amongst all the crazy ones:
"Aggghhh! Shepard I'm so emotionally conflicted! Who should I kill? Should I kill?"
