After playing this game dozens of times, I thought I'd run into just about every bug there is. Yet suddenly I find a new one that I've never even read about before.
Every time I change areas, or complete a cut-scene, my armor has been removed and placed back in my inventory.
Anyone seen this before or have any idea wtf is going on?

Do you need UMD to equip it?
If a character needs to have Use magic device to equip a wearable item and if that character must use either a Charisma or skill boosting item, spell, or effect to equip the item using the Use magic device skill, that character will lose the equipped item upon area transfers

No, it's nothing like that. I have the heavy armor proficiency and the armor has no restrictions at all. Once the armor becomes unequipped, it's just a question of putting it back on.

I believe I have figured it out. My armor proficiency comes from another item, which is never unequipped. But apparently when it loads your character, it first unequips everything, then re-equips it checking for requirements as it does so, and it's trying to re-equip my armor before the other items.
This is still a bug as far as I'm concerned. Since the abilities to use one thing often come from another, it should enequip and re-equip each item individually independent of the others. Then this problem would have been avoided.
Thanks for your idea Arkalezth. That's what got me thinking.

Yes, the bug is the same. you need some item to meet the requisites for others. Items that need UMD are simply the most common case.
