I definitely will, if there is a bonus for doing so. I got the Signature Edition of Dragon Age 2 for the price of the standard version for pre-ordering before a certain date. If I can continue to get deals like that, and I think I will like the game in question, I'll pre-order it. If I end up not liking the game, I can always return it for a refund.

Unless you happen to play on a PC. Sadly, no refunds for them.

Will I pre order from bioware again? Probably. will I pre order for dragon age again? Not in the current direction. Dragon age 2 was a good game in it's own right, but it was nothing like origins was to me. The story was unvaried and areas were recycled, I really didn't care for the characters besides varric, nothing I did changed anything important until my last decision, in general they took away functions without adding anything to match the loss. Dragon age 2 was doomed from the start, it will always be judged by the standard it's predecessor set for it, and it fell short to me.

i do not pre-order as a general rule. i don't spend money unless i have as good an understanding of what i'm getting as possible. so DA2 did not change my feelings about pre-ordering. but DA2 did make me glad that i have this policy. i would be so upset if i spent $60 on DA2.

DA2 was the first time I preordered instead of waiting a few months for prices and patches.

Never again.

ME3 is my most anticipated game of 2011. Possibly ever. ME3 is an absolute day one play for me, so yeah I am so pre-ordering ME3.

Honestly I think DA2 ruined gaming for me.

It was so dumbed down that playing it made me feel childish and now I can't touch a game for more than 10 minutes at a time.

Thx Bioware!

I can honestly say with certainty that I will never be pre-ordering a Bioware game again.

PS3 Sig Edition owner here.

The SE content is NOT ON THE DISC. PSN is down.

Take one guess as to how I feel about "pre order content/special edition" games that don't have that content included when you buy it.

I learned my lesson, EA got my $60 this time, but they lost out on my $60 for the next 10 games.

DA:O was the first game I bought on day one in many years. I was not dissapointed.
DA2 was my first preordered game ever. Quite dissapointed.
A possible DA3? I honestly don't see myself getting it anytime near the realease day.

As I love both ME and ME2 I will pretty much definitely buy ME3. Probably not on release. Maybe I'll even preorder it though. The recently announced delayed release date seems like another good sign for a quality product, so who knows?

The Old Republic kinda scares the **** out of me, to be honest. I have no interest at all in an MMO, and the thought of the resources this beast already consumed make me cringe. Part of me wants it just silently die, so Bioware can focus their whole strength on making great singleplayer games. But more than that I wish it to be an incredible success, because I can't imagine the consequences of it failing. We'll see. At least it minimizes the chances of an ME MMO. Which I would actually find incredibly more appealing than anything Star Wars related by now...

This is the kicker.  I don't think Bioware quite understands the scope and impact long term this DA2 "awesome button" thing has had.

People like this poster, and I were jaded gamers who reluctantly spent $60 on games we absolutely wanted.  DAO came out and we were suddenly back on the Pre Order bandwagon.

And then DA2 happened, and it didn't just disappoint, it completely changed the way I will buy games from here on out.

I honestly can not see myself pre-ordering any game again until the business model is completely revamped.  Having to pay up front for a game with that many glitches and NOT EVEN HAVING THE CONTENT ON THE DISC OF A SPECIAL EDITION  killed it for me.

I gues now I'll follow the Fallout 3 motto of
"Wait 8 months for the discounted GOTY edition"

Is it wrong to want ME3 to be Awful McAwfulness so that the ME fans can feel the pain that is DA2?

While I didn't play DA2 anywhere near as much as I did DAO I did think there were some positives(better looking game, story was good when you consider the limitations, combat "felt" better though I do believe they went overboard).  Pretty much all of the major complaints about DA2 seem to be the result of one of two decisions made by Bioware/EA.  First come the issues caused by the drastically shortened development time(bugs/crashes, limited enviroments/zones, narrowed scope in regards to story caused by the lack of enviroments/zones, etc...) and second are the issues caused by the attempted shift to draw in more casual gamers(over the top combat, simplified mechanic for equiping companions, etc...).

Moving forward it should be pretty simple to spot the first issue(if they announce DA3 to release anytime before fall/winter '02 that should throw up some massive red flags) and while the second will be harder to spot we should at least have some idea whether or not they are scaling back the "casualification" before launch, as they never really tried to hide it in regards to DA2.  As such I see no reason to singularly avoid Bioware when it comes to preordering and will continue decide on a game to game basis.

With that said I do intend to preorder ME3 and SWTOR and if they do not rush DA3 I see no reason not to preorder provided they dial back the "awesome"(nonstop exploding corpses, warping waves of enemies and the $*#&@ Arishok fight...) and up the scope a little bit.

I was very happy with the pre order and would again. I do agree with the lack of companion controls in regards to armour.

Eh, first preorder ever was ME2, and I adored it. I might preorder ME3, depending on the info the put out. I will never preorder a DA game, though.

Yes. One set of BW fans feeling that level of Awful McAwfulness is sufficient I think, besides, 2 such disasters would not bode well for BW in the short term or the long term.

I will problay preorder another Bioware game if it doesnt have the same guy who was in charge of DA2. I mean DA series was good when it started out in Origin and the series took a turn for the worst. I am not a hate of DA2 but for the amount of hate DA2 has sprung because of how it turned out surely saids something about who was in charge of making sure it appeased most fans of the series. I mean there was a lot of things in the game that needed more refinement time, its not ok to release a game on time if it still is pretty rough. I think i wouldve got a different game than Dragon Age 2 if i knew what i know now about the game when i preordered it, lets just say that.

But it all factors who is in charge of key things in the game making process, whoever it was that was responsible for DA2 to be a great game really failed. He let alot of things slip by. I mean the game wasnt bad story wise, but the story wasnt fleshed out right and the maps. I know this isnt the first game that repeated maps, every game does it. But when you play it the first two times and your already sick of it, thats pretty bad for a Bioware game. Bioware games thrive on their replayability and DA2 just doesnt offer that because you feel like you played the game 3x or more on your first playthrough. Its the amount of times they reused the maps thats the cause of that, not the story, i liked the casual approach DA2 has. But the reused maps negative weighs so heavy that it really demises the positives of DA2.

So I will say again, it depends. I cant trust DA2 over Final Fantasy series, and I havent liked most Square Enix touches on the series until FF13. I feel no matter how easy that Final Fantasy game is, it reigns superior over DA2. Because when you change the foundation of a series gameplay function you gotta do the other stuff right, people that are core fans are looking at the flaws that the game can produce not the positives.

I will pre-order both TOR and ME3.

But another Dragon Age? No, I will be very careful. DA2 disappointed me so much...
