DA2 was the 2nd thing i ever pre-ordered and not cancel. I don't know if i'm going to pre-order any bioware games again since i almost never pre-order things only time will tell.

Nope. DA2 cured me of that.

How did people get burned on DA2?

Two patches and over a month after release and some of us still can't legally play our pre-ordered game because of the DRM issues?

DA2 was the first game I pre-ordered. I'll probably pre-order ME3 as well if there's bonus stuff I've any interest in, otherwise I'll just buy it on release day.

I've bought most of Bioware's games since Neverwinter nights and recently I've even re-bought a couple of games including Star wars Knights of the old republic on steam (still an epic game) and Neverwinter nights diamond edition on impulse.

After DA2 I doubt that I will be pre ordering any Bioware game again. I think that I will wait a few weeks after launch to see how the user reviews are before considering buying another Bioware game.

If I could preorder ME3 now, I would. Unfortunately due to current poorness that'll have to wait a bit.

I will preorder the expansion for DA2 if we get one, and any other DA game as i love DA2.

Pretty much in agreement. None of DA2's flaws impacted my enjoyment to the point that I didn't thoroughly enjoy the game. I played for 12 hours a day, 3 days in a row. That's a sure sign that it got its hooks in me.

I'll pre-order TOR, but I doubt I even buy any more DA titles.  (or maybe I'll wait a month til they're $20 like DA2)

I doubt I'll pre-order ME3 now... in part because of DA2.

I wil preorder Mass Effect 3. Bioware hopefully will learn what did not work and take that into account. But come on no one dev team makes every game with the Bioware license.

However pre-ordering a DA game that maybe I might hold off. We'll see how future dlc/expansions or DA3 turns out.

No, I won't be preordering any more bioware games. My new mantra is 'try before you buy'.

If the preorder bonus items/stuff is interesting enough, same as with any other game I'm wanting to get from any other developer. If it isn't, I'll just buy it on release day all normal, as I've never had a problem finding a copy of a game I wanted to buy on release.

Same goes for getting special/collector's/deluxe editions of games.

I'll pre order more for sure. For instance the second I see a date for swtor I'm going to haul ass to eb games and pay it off in advance. BW never disappoints me with their games, the sheer fact that I always get at least two play throughs done in a single player game is a testament to that. Same goes for when we get a date for ME3 and eventually for DA3 (though I'd be willing to wait a couple years for that, as they do need to work on stuff).

Definitely. I liked DA2 and the team most likely got a good hint as to what works and doesn't work.

At this point I'm actually curious about what they will do for Dragon Age. I won't just blindly pre-order anymore though. I need more information before I make such decisions.
I felt like I wasn't being dealt with honestly with Dragon Age 2. They promised better graphics and stated that you would only play as a human, which I would have been fine with if it meant that the trade off between choice and technical polish would be at least even.
They fell far short as I see it, and generally delivered a game that no one asked for, under the guise of being a continuation of a game that people loved and actually expected to see more of in the sequel.

SW: TOR is going to fail, PM or reply if you want an in-depth explanation from me of why.

If you preorder ANY game, you deserve to be deceived by the hype.

I'll probably pre-order ME3 cause it's a different Bioware team working on it, but with DA3, if Laidlaw is still in charge I'll wait for exhaustive reviews from credible non-ad driven sources before buying.

Luckily I didn't this time, and the demo saved me $60. But no, but that's just a standard practice with me on all games as I always wait for player reviews. I just don't have money to throw away on bad games anymore.

The ME franchise hasn't done anything wrong by me, I'll happily purchase it on the day of release (can't really pre-order where I am, but fortunately the retailer is considered to be "pre-ordering" so they always have a massive stack of preorder bonus codes that they hand out to everyone who buys the game).

Anything else I'm going to take a good, hard look at the lead designer and his/her resume before I even consider the possibility of purchase.

Yes. People will pre-order Bioware games.

We call these people "marks" or "fools". :P
