I suppose I probably will, assuming ME3 releases on Steam. But only because I want to take advantage of pre-loading and have the game installed and ready to play ASAP. At this point I am having a hard time imagining EA green-lighting production of Dragon Age 3, I seriously doubt there will be another Mass Effect game from Bioware on the current console hardware generation after ME3, and I have zero interest in The Old Republic. So basically from what I know right now, Bioware and I will be parting ways this holiday season. Maybe their next gen projects will interest me, but I'm skeptical. I am not interested in dumbed down action RPGs (I only want to finish ME3 because damn it, I'm two-thirds in already) nor MMORPGs and I don't see Bioware reversing their newfound commitment to chasing the CoD/Farmville crowd, so there's no reason to hang around and annoy them or my fellow forumites with requests and advice for products they have no interest in developing and delivering.

I might pre-order ME 3 for two reasons. Firstly, it's being developed by a different team so hopefully the standards are better than those of DA 2's team. Secondly I already played the first two and enjoyed them fairly well and I hate being left on a cliffhanger so it will be nice to hear what happens with the Reapers.

DA 3, if it occurs, will likely have no connection to my Warden's story and I could care less about Hawke, that character doesn't hold my attention for even a moment. Most of the changes in DA 2 were rather lame too, so I can't imagine myself pre-ordering it's sequel. Yet, all hope is not lost for Bioware as a company, so I won't say I will never pre-order again...yet.

Buying ANYTHING based on nothing but marketing BS is generally a bad idea, even more so when it's a company like EA feeding it to you. Unless you enjoy giving away your money for trash. Which is bound to happen from time to time if you do.

If there's a game which has remotely a chance of me pre-ordering, it's ME3. Other than that, no I don't intend to pre-order Bioware games anymore. DA2 has taught me a hard lesson as to which direction Bioware is heading (from an amazing gaming company to a so, so gaming company) and I certainly won't encourage them to get there.

Yes I will preorder again, in fact I was really happy with the preorder bonuses that you got with DA2, like getting Mass Effect 2 on the PC for free and all the DLC, I would have been getting Mass Effect 3 on the day of release but now I'm currently waiting to see if they do an offer like last time when you preorder from certain stores. :)

I don't know why people are complaining about DA2 so much, sure the original was probably better but it's still a great game, and you just KNOW Mass Effect 3 is going to blow our minds! <3

Actually no, I don't know that ME 3 will blow my mind. Hopefully it will be good.

No.

I realised something playing DA2 , freebies content is only worthwhile if the game itself is.No amount of extra items is going to make a bad game good and even if the game is good, the extra stuff just makes it easier.

Well no. I am generally not preordering anymore. Obviously it is smarter to wait a couple of months and get the game including DLCs for half the price. Preordering just got me a bunch of ingame items I never use. Not to mention how long it takes them to patch the game. So probably the best idea is to buy a game 2-3 months after release. To everyone else I can only say I feel sorry for you but you'll learn the lesson eventually.

I've pre-ordered a good number of games in the past, almost entirely based on impressions from other titles in a series (GTA VC, SA, IV; Hitman Blood Money; DA:A) . DA2 was the first that was disappointing, in my opinion. And yes, to an extent it has gone a way to affecting my own willingness to pre-order, even from other publishers. I only preordered The Witcher 2 in-store because I was assured I would not HAVE to buy it come release day. Then again, I've been let down by a number of recent games (FFXIII being the big offender), so it's not necessarily a Bio only thing.

For me, a lot will depend on ME3. Depending on the atmosphere surrounding it here and other places, the release price, etc. I MAY preorder it. Although like some others have said here, after ME3 I doubt there will be much coming out from BioWare that I'll be after. The MMO isn't to my taste (love KotOR, hate MMOs!) and as to DA3...well, time will only tell.

Never have pre-ordered anything, never will. I usually carefully research, and wait for well worded and reasoned user reviews. I usually always view most professional reviews as garbage, and my stance has been proven to me lately with a vengeance. I'll never even glance at a so-called "professional" review again. Ever.

I did however do the brainless thing and bought DA 2 on release day. I actually bought into the promises and hype. I never saw any live interviews, because I wanted to stay away from potential spoilers. If I had, I'd not be out 56 euros foolishly thrown away by my idiocy. Especially since it is less than half price now around here. After only ~ 2 month.

Yes, money matters to me. A lot. I have people and a car to support. "Fun" money is tight and usually carefully spent. So I can actually have, you know, *fun*.

If I see that a RPG has no toolset, I'll pass. Seeing that there is no news about an update anywhere on the horizon and seeing the first DLC, I refuse to be milked out of my money on the spur of the moment and un-researched merchandise. Nickle and dime someone else to death, but it won't be me.

Hard lesson, painfully learned, but learned never-the-less. DA 2 has definitely taught me to never indulge in trusting, brainless behavior - ever.

Caveat emptor. My newest catch-phrase.

Pre-order? From BioWare? Not any more, sorry.

I would advise people not to pre-order again, too. Don't be sheep, be wolves.

I guess I should elaborate that I didn't preorder DAII after the Witch Hunt dlc. I did preorder Mass Effect 3 though because you'll know what you'll get with ME3, they've only tweaked their game. But I was aware that DAII was going to have a very different look with a very different way to tell a story. So from that I surmised that DAII was going to be a different game.

I'm not alone in waiting for the reviews. Apparently, out of all the people that bought Origins there are over 3 million of us who didn't buy DAII.

I wouldn't have any problems with that. I didn't like Dragon Age II either but i could just have canceled the order. The game was released in Europe 4 days after the american release so i was aware of the unfavourable user reviews but i thought to myself, the game hasn't been out long and the big sites like it. It's probably just a bunch of haters and in a month, when most people has actually finished the game, the user reviews will be mostly positive. Boy was i wrong. I wish i had listened to them and just canceled. But i will not make the same mistake again. If a similar pattern repeat itself with Mass Effect 3 i will simply cancel the order. That dosn't mean i won't buy it eventually though. But i will wait untill they are almost giving the game away for free like i should have done with Dragon Age II.

I will pre order ME3.

After the DA2-disaster I won't pre-order any other game than that. BioWare-logo does equal quality nomore it seems.

DA2 was the first time I pre ordered. Not just from Bioware, from *anywhere*. I always was the guy who waited until the game was out. In the BG era it was money and time considerations. With DAO it's because I at least wanted someone to make some headway with a Let's Play before I decided to buy. With ME2 I didn't cave until after Kasumi's DLC came out.

But I ignored the doubters and haters and pre-ordered DA2, Signature Editon. I figured, saved me the trouble of getting Sebastian separately later.

Lesson learned.

Ditto except I didn't wait for Kasumi and didn't preorder in time for free Sebastian. Though frankly Sebastian's whiny little darth vader/"DO NOT WANT" moment at the end of the game is reason enough for me to want a refund on him.

I'm not buying any game any more until it's thoroughly reviewed.

To assume that either side, those who would and wouldn't, are universally lesser to the other is rather stupid.

Oh Sure yes, for Mass Effect at least.. I'll have my eye on the DA franchise and hold off pre ordering until I can get a feel of the game.

Actually I never pre-order video games from anyone, Bioware or not. It's better to research a bit before buying anything.
If you pre-order a game and feel offended/betrayed/disappointed or think it's a waste of money, then it's your fault.
At least you learned your lesson.
