I wonder what the actual sales figures for DA2 would have been without the pre-orders.

I usually don't do pre-orders. About the only reason I did with DA2 was for the Signature Edition. However, as usually I am more than content with the BioWare product I have received, so if they have a similar pre-order incentive for ME3 (or DA3 or any future BioWare game I'm interested in) I'll likely jump on it.

preordering ME3 special edition, of course.

Anything Dragon Age related - hell no. Especially seeing as how they are hugely keen on defending stuff in DA2 that I absolutely hated. [waves, combat, repetitious gameplay and levels]

I deffinatly won`t. I won`t pay full price for a Bioware game again either. Not after pre-ordering and paying full price for a half-done DA2.

I never have had to preorder I get my games for free. But Bioware is no more since EA owns them, and I will never buy any EA game, and never have. Only games I will spend my money on are coming out soon. The witcher 2 and Skyrim.

DAII has been the only BioWare game I've ever preordered, but after such a painful experience, I'm definitely going to do my best to wait it out. Sadly, I'm not sure I'll have the willpower to boycott DA3, if/when it comes... Damn this desire to see if they'll learn from this!

Yes! I am waiting (not so) patiently to preorder the Mass Effect 3 Collector's edition.

Though I wouldn't say I am done w/ DA as a franchise, I will say that the Warden would have to return as a main PC for me to preorder DA3. Otherwise I MIGHT buy it when it goes down in price.

I'm planning on throwing my money at Bioware as soon as the ME3 super-duper prestige edition is available for it. I'll probably preorder DA3 if it has anything neat with it.

I didnt pre order DA2 and i must say i'm glad 13£ seemed about right to me. If you preorder simply because of the developer your going to end up disappointed sooner or later I advise looking into the product your buying first.

I don't pre order games unless I think they will be something special regardless of manufacturer
although i think i will likely pre order ME3 so yes i will pre order from bioware

I will preorder SWTOR and ME3 most certainly. Being a Bioware fan is for life, not just for Christmas.

I will pre-order from Bioware again in a heartbeat. ME, ME2, DAO, DA2...I have yet to be disappointed to the point that so many folks are complaining about on this forum. It's become a cesspool for complaints. www.nagaboutda2.com

Now if you ask me about Obsidian/Bethesda and my pre-order of and experience with "Fallout New Vegas", that's another story. No way would I pre-order from Obsidian/Bethesda again. :)

I never pre-order, and since Neverwinter Nights 2 I've developed the habit of waiting at least a few months before buying most games. This time, however, Bioware tricked me into pre-ordering. They said that buyers of the SE would get 20 dollars worth of DLC. Well, since I'd buy the game anyways eventually I figured 20 dollars of DLC was worth the risk. Boy, how wrong I was. I don't regret playing the game, but Bioware pretty much lied. They included the Black Emporium in the "20 dollars of free DLC sales pitch", and only later did I find out that the BE comes with every single new copy anyways. So it's really only 10 dollars of DLC, which amounts to little more than an "extra" character that was blatantly ripped off the main game and sold as a bonus.

So no, Bioware could offer me the Super Hyper Mega Edition with 50 bucks worth of DLC and I simply will not trust their word again.

I admit it, I bought DA2 because of DA:O and I could not wait to play it. As a result, I was in for some disappointment as the majority posts can attest to. The only positive experience I had in spending the 60.00 was that I was able to receive Mass Effect 2 for free which I am playing now. Now that is a sequel done correctly.

Anyway, I will not ever pre-order anything from Bioware again as I would probably get burned by them. They have lost a dedicated customer for Dragon Age.

WHOA!!! Sorry, I just got hit by a flashback in regards to the bolded section. Let us think back to late January 2010...

...when the majority of posts were saying that Mass Effect 2 was an absolutely awful game and that it was a terrible sequel to Mass Effect 1. Sorry, I just find that funny.

After ME 3 I'm adopting the wait-and-see approach for all future Bioware titles. And even in ME 3's case it's only because I want to finish my Shep's story. I didn't like some of the stuff ME 2 did (ammo, armour for Shep and squaddies, weapons with the exception of the heavies, cramped environments, lousy vehicle, and some others) but soldiered on because I'd already been through so much with Shep in ME 1. Emotional attachment to your character, right there. Plus Shep is so badass, headbutting a Krogan (who has 4 balls, mind you), and engaging in fisticuffs with a giant alien.

Hawke runs around a lot and has a lot of people die despite my best efforts. Yup.

yes, I would. I enjoyed DA 2. maybe not as much as DA:O, but I still enjoyed it.

Plus, it's really easy to preorder a game. just put $5 down and you could always get that money back if you decide not to buy the game.

I always preordered all the Bioware games until ME2, where I had to cancel my preorder upon learning that they had removed all the good romances for FemShep. Bought it later after a mod came out to fix that, very fun game when you can play it with the romance of your choice. I did preorder DA2, obviously the game overall was a disappointment but it still had a lot of fun parts to it. Going forward, in light of the awesomeness of LotSB DLC for ME2, and in light of Ray's comments that seem to suggest that DA3 is going to return to the awesomeness of DAO, I'm going to definitely still be willing to consider pre-ordering ME3 and DA3, depending of course on what we hear about each game ahead of time. I definitely want to do that, I love Bioware and I generally enjoy their games a great deal. I'm not an 'automatic' pre-orderer anymore, but I'm still open to it, and if ME3 is as awesome as LotSB was, I'll probably become an automatic pre-orderer once again :) .

Since I'm not interested in the ME series nor the MMO, I doubt I will even be buying a BioWare game again.

After all, Blizzard proved with WoW that if an MMO's successful, it will become top priority of a developer for a good part of a decade.

But to answer the original question, no, I will not be pre-ordering a BioWare product. Ever.

I might not pre-order ME3 on principle because I thought the hard sell of DA2 was unconscionable, but it's not because I don't have faith it won't be worth playing. I was disappointed in ME2 but I'm still invested with the characters and I do want to see how it ends (something DA can't rely upon after ditching the warden)..
