Yeah. I uploaded my latest file, which was after "Arrival" and an earlier file where I was level 7 to see if either made a difference. Neither changed when I exported them.

30-level one is obviously after Conrad quest and your 7-level Shepard don't have access to Illium (yet).

I never did the Conrad quest on my level 30. I spoke to the Asari outside of the bar but never went in and spoke to him because I was hoping this would eventually be fixed.

Ah, sorry but this fix only works if you apply it before speaking to Asari.

So why doesn't this take if done in the Gibbed editor?  Does ME2 have a second plot table it copies these flags into?

Yes, ME2 save consists of:
- Version (29 for ME2)
- Debug name, timestamp, current level, ...
- Level, streaming, kismet, door and pawn records
- Player object (appearance, abilities etc.)
- Henchmen (squadmates) objects (abilities etc.)
- Mass Effect 2 Plot table
- Mass Effect legacy plot table (copied from ME1 save, used only by importer)
- Galaxy map (visited planets, location of probes etc.)
- DLC list
- CRC32 checksum (that's why after hexediting you have to use a save editor)

If you want to know more please download SFXGame.7z from my site, it contains extracted UnrealScript files (most important files: SFXSaveGame.uc and SFXLegacyData.uc).

Importer copies some ME1 plot flags into ME2 plot table.

This is great but will it work for me3 or will it mess things up? I wonder. If it is easy to fix why can't a small patch be made by bioware? wut up with that.

They haven't patched it because they'd have to patch ME1 too, which is the source of the problem.  That or they'd have to add to ME2 a way to set the flag correctly, kinda like how you'll be asked who you put on the Council during the shuttle ride.  As it is, ME2 has no way to know how you persuaded Conrad because ME1 thinks you charmed and intimidated him.

@didymos: Yeah, got the thing about the patch. Wondered about the consequences of flagging it correctly through some modifications, but I guess that can´t have any corrupting consequences...

What are the problems concerning Sha´ira´s mission though? Both options flagged again?

Binary data is faster, doesn't require complex parsers and has a lot smaller size than XML files.

Additionaly, writing/reading binary save files is a lot easier in case of Unreal Engine 3.

So it's mostly down to Unreal Engine convention then (since SVG, Office Open XML, Open Document, etc, all work fine despite being slower, having bigger files and requiring a complex parser)

Edit: Nevermind forgot it was an ME1 bug.

Great work though dude, not sure anyone will want to use this Mod after what was said about how Conrad will be in ME3 though.

Probably not if they're building ME3 based on the presumption he always does the goofy "you stuck a gun in my face" thing then probably all they're looking for from ME2 is whether Conrad killed himself or not.

Yeah, I think I see why they didn't fix this one now. Shepard getting backhanded and him muttering some non-descript threat is kind of immersion breaking.

The real Shepard, even a Paragon one, would've falcon punched that **** in the face. Renegade Shepard would've shot her and pissed on her corpse.
