So here goes, since regular polls make you choose 1 person from over a dozen, I'm doin my own.

Rules: Pick the top 5 squadmates you want to return as PERMANENT members. Lable them 1-5 or I'll go the order they're listed. Please no throw-ins or choosing more/less than 5 as it's gonna throw off my points and I will ignore it.

I'm giving each vote a point worth, which are as follows:
1st: 80p
2nd: 55
3rd: 35
4th: 20
5th: 10

That makes each post 200 total points, which makes my math easier in the long run.
What math you ask? I'm gonna add up the points and give them percentages of the vote. I'm setting 40p per vote as 100%, mostly because that makes my math easier but also cause with the amount of people to choose from, anything higher would result in a lot of .5% which isnt realistically helpful. This setup means that should everyone vote Tali as their number 1 (and what heartless soul wouldn't), she would have a score of 200%. Because that's how badly the collective group would want her in it. Trust me, it makes sense.

Also, please do NOT let "confirmed" characters sway your vote, I would like this to be as acuurate as possible, on the off chance the devs stumble accross it. I dream at night of having an impact on these things, just let me keep dreaming.

Feel free to defend your selections if need be (like if you have Jacob as your 1), but only votes are really needed.

I'll try to keep this updated for as long as people keep voting in it. Oh, and please don't vote more than once, it's going on the honor code since I'm far to lazy to double check these things. If you want to have any other discussions in here I don't really mind, just as always, no trolling please.

These aren't necessarily my favorites nor in this order, but these strike me as the most sensible to have as permanent. Arguments: Garrus is simply your buddy, he has nowhere else to go. You pretty much literally raised Grunt. Tali is now even among her own people Shepard's official crew member. Legion walks around with a friggin part of your armor; the good way (not the Conrad way). Miranda is pretty much jobless after the suicide run (she even explicitly resigns) and has you to thank for it.

I basically went with characters I see as not being needed elsewhere, or thos who have no where to go.  I assume that the majority of other party members(esp the aliens) will be off on their respective home planets lobbying their governments to help out Shepard.  For example, Samara will be using her influence as a Justicar and Matriach, Mordin will be nagging his old SpecOps buddies, Wrex will be mustering the Krogen etc.

I chose Garrus, because he's not a particularly influential Turian.  Maybe by the time 3 roll around, he'd have gained something, but generally I think he'd rather stick with you, and back you up on Palaven.  Kaiden/Ashley because they're a potential LI, plus they'll probably bring the Council's POV along.  They'll be needed to bring a sense of closure to the trilogy, completing the romance arc, and reparation of the friendship that was damaged after the events of ME2.

Liara for much the same reasons, plus as the Shadow Broker, she'll be a very valuable intelligence asset regarding the Reapers and their allies, not to mention the state of the galaxy and it's occupants.  Miranda and Jacob because they have no where else to go.  Maybe Jacob could rejoin the Alliance, but he seems much more likely to stick with Shep, because that's the style of operations that Jacob likes (like his time in the Corsairs, minus the red tape).  Miranda strikes me as someone who'd succeed amazingly at anything she tries, but again I suspect she'd see her place at Shep's side, defending against the Reapers.  This makes sense also for both ex-Cerbs if you pursued a romance with them.  Perhaps they'll be mutually exclusive, depending on which one you made space-love with.

Grunt I chose simply because, like Garrus, he isn't that important in the grand scheme of things.  He sees you as his battlemaster by the end of ME2, so it stands to reason he wouldn't leave your side.
