Curse you and your need for story logic! I would gladly kill off every krogan in the universe if it meant I got to use Wrex, and thats with my paragon Shep.

Honestly I didn't think they would do so well, I really wasn't a fan of either, especially Ash. I'm pretty surprised that Kaiden just got his first solo vote though while Ash had like 6. I literally never used either one, and on Vimire I close my eyes and click. I'm actually almost upset that they make a return; as much as I didn't care for Jacob and Miranda, I didn't care for them less than those 2. Besides, Jacob brought some much needed Bro-ness.

I don't generally use human characters at all. My Shepard is more than enough human in the squad - I'm so biased towards aliens, haha. Kaidan and Ashley are probably my two least favorite characters period, but they have their fans just like everybody else. 

*Edit: And yay for Jacob bro-ness!

1.  Garrus is not at any disadvantage as he has multiple fanbases voting for him. 
2.  Samara/Morinth make sence as one vote for exact same reason as VS
3.  My vote would have been for Kaidan alone if I were forced to chose, since as much as I like Ash as a character, I pretty much never use her when I play  ME1 - its usualy Kaidan and Garrus or more recently Kaidan and Liara (with all the lifts, Liara's singularity and in case of biotic shepards - my lift and singularity, things never have a chance to shoot at me... ever.  Saren with Kaidan, Liara and biotic shepard is a sad joke.).
4.  there were multiple votes for Kaidan only, before the change to the poll.  note the edited posts. 
5.  they are great characters that people tend to brush off/judge harsher, sadly becasue they are human and you get all these aliens so early in a game - ooh, fresh new game, fresh new weird squadmates, why play with boring humans you see on the streets every day, when you can play with exotic aliens?  case in point - the post right above mine, that I didn't even see before finishing typing this up.  Horizon didn't help their case either, especialy with people who never played ME1.

what makes me sad is that Jacob is not getting more votes.  he's a lot more misunderstood then VS
