My computer died exetremely painful, part by part, spitting out flaming catling hairballs bigger than any baldor, well...at any rate I was forced into repopulating a new hard drive with a new operating system (Windows 7 of the abyss) and motherboard.

This happened on NWN1, so I am assuming my problem will be similar in NWN2 and Expansions.

On NWN1  Driver:  The driver for my video card ATI Radon 5570 had to be uninstalled frmo the recommended 13.5 Catalyst Suite to the older 10.5 Catalyst Suite.

On NWN1  Shortcut Icons:  Shortcut icons had to be manually added: the nwn.exe if I wanted to see configuation, and the nwnmain.exe if I wanted to play the game; and both had to be back compatible with XP service pack 2 (not sp3) and ran as administrator.

On NWN1  Windowed Mode:  My desktop is at 1680x1505 and I needed to change configuration of game (getting in via the new icon shortcut) smaller to 1280x768.  And in the nwn.ini file I needed to change Fullscreen=1 to Fullscreen=0 and I needed to add AllowWindowedMode=1  

BUT...

...drum roll please......

NWN2 & Expansions Shortcut Icons:  Things seem to be loading ok, I loaded NWN2, ran updates, then MOB, and now SOZ is loading.  But I have no desktop icon and when I viewed NWN2 root files, I found it not as intuitive as to which file I need to right click and drag to desktop to choose as a shortcut.  

Do I need a shortcut for all three (NWN2, MOB, SOZ), only one of the three (then which one), and what is the file I use please?


NWN2 Run in Windowed Mode:    Do I do the same as I did with NWN1 and change configuration for all three and add lines to ini files for all three?
