The breastplate is inside the ruins; you have to do the Elven ritual to unlock those big doors, and the armor should be in a sarcophagus found within.

Gax is resistant to magic. What you should of done was have your mages focus on heals and bring both rogues. Preferably one has arrow of slaying and another has momentum with paralyze runes.

I want to say it's in the ruins, second level, in the werewolf quest. I'm pretty sure you can search for it though on this forum and someone will have already posted about where it is.

I actually don't think it's the best tanking breast plate. If you're using Allistair I think the best tanking breastplate is the knights armor you can buy outside of orzamar, and if you're using anyone without templar specialization I think the best tanking armor is "Effort" which gives +15% to healing effects, and has the same defense as juggernaut. If you have your tank wear that along with all the other healing effect gear you can get (including an awesome shield) you can get something like +90% healing on one ally which is pretty substantial for a main tank. Especially if you have two mage, one a spirit healer and the other a dps mage that invested the one point in heal. Who needs taunt/force field when you can keep your tank at near full health the whole time without a healing pot?

Good to know.  I'll try it again with my new rogue build, wynne, lelianna and morrigan.

Decent enough. PC Warriors are better off wearing Armor of the Legion or Juggernaut. While rogues are better off wearing Drakescale.

The Dragon Fights are the best in the game by far, I must say though, I found the high dragon harder than the archdemon or gaxkang, infact I did both of the latter 1st attempt on Hard, while the high dragon knocked me about rather a few times (possibly because I had only my mage, and no healing or lyrium potions)

I'm still suprised every time I see people finding gaxkang or the archdemon hard.... but anyway, Kudos on KOing Flemeth, that was a fight I didn't actually do (I talked her out of fighting instead *shrugs*)

Yea, first time i fought Flemeth, she COMPLETELY owned me...wasn't even right...i went there ready for a fight, and she just laughed...i think i was around lvl 10-14 or so. Fighting and then beating the high Dragon was my greatest moment of awesome feelingness! Man that was so freaking cool, especially watching Alaistar ride on it and the slow motion and.....oh....man.... it. Was. Freaking. Awesome.

*cries a tear in memory of the moment*

I just killed the high dragon of the urn quest! It was quite fun and surprisingly easier than flemeth. No one died and it was over in about three minutes. I use Alisther to taunt and hold the dragon attention while morrigan fore field alisther and then storm of the century the dragon while my wyne and my rogue with a bow dealed damage at a safe distance

I figured the High Dragon fight would be really tough so I didn't attempt it at first, till I got hold of 'Arsala', a really good 2H sword from the hidden quest you get in the Circle tower, (+10 vs Dragons).

It makes it a good fight, but not a really challenging one.

What really help me for the flemeth fight was the drakescale armor you get from wade the fire resist help balance out the damage to healing ratio on my archer.

I know many people have killed flemeth but i am so so so HAPPY that I kill her!  So at lvl 14 with my rogue, Shale, Alisther, and Wyne i killed flemeth (really it was just my rogue and Wyne) on  Nov. 18, 2009 at about 11: 35 pm.

My rogue had on  fire resist drakescale armor and took warm palms or whatever like crazy. Shale and Alisther had to sacrife and distract flemeth while my rogue blasted it with arrows and Wyne on constant healing duty. roughly 4 minute battle. And now to go see how quick i die fighting the high dragon!B):):P

Good on you! There's something really satisfying about taking down Flemmeth in her dragon form with a rogue. And if you play a melee rogue you get that really cool death blow animation that is only topped by the broodmother rogue death blow animation. Rogues are really fun to play.

Realy I found the HIgh Dragon the easy dragon fight out of the three. By far Flemeth is the hardest dragon to beat (she is the second strongest boss in the game, if you killed Flemeth, before you vs the Archdemon look at powerful foe defeted and it will say Flemeth. Anyways I think the reason why Flemeth is very hard is because you fight her in a small place. The high dragon is fought in just a huge battleground that your ranged charcters are safe and the Archdemon while it has the most health the point you can use the army command and other things to make the battle very easy.

I only did it on "easy mode" with a mage so far, used the cone of cold on it several times (you can use it right on time: the spell is reactivated again as soon as the effects of your previous cast start to wear out). works well with any boss, but you might need some mana potions. My party did the rest and if your timing is good then you can do the killing blow.
