So I started up DAO for the first time in a while to play through a campaign while waiting on the next patch for DA2, and I got the aforementioned message which stated something to the effect of "Your profile data has been corrupted.  Any corrupt data will be reset to blah blah blah defaults."

I started a new game (after being told several times I had reached my character limit despite deleting all saves of several characters) and at the level up screen, lo and behold, all of the specializations I had unlocked in my prior completions (read: every specialization) have re-locked themselves?

Are these issues related? I kinda assumed they are.  Is the profile data issue a result of the implosion the PSN is experiencing right now?  All of my trophies seem to still be intact, and all of my DLC is still installed and showing up in the quest log, the only discrepancy I have noticed thusfar is the locked specializations.

Could it be related to the PSN nightmare? Sure. It sounds more like your saves were corrupted. That or whatever file contains what's been unlocked and all.

Try loading a character you beat the game with. That may fix that file. I don't know, but it's worth a shot!

Just tried loading every single one of my other saves that might have the specializations unlocked in those files, and every file appears to be inaccessible. I don't even get an error message, just a blank box with an "OK" button, and the file does not load.

Please tell me this is only a temporary problem because of the PSN, because if I have lost all of my Origins save data and all the other unlocks, count me as OFFICIALLY PISSED OFF.

Okay, so through some doing I got my saves to work again. I had to load a save from Witch Hunt which for some reason worked properly, and then do a load from within that game to my other saves which were not working.

However, I checked in all these games to ensure my specializations were still unlocked as they had been before and they were. I made new saves off these files and tried loading my current playthrough, and my specializations are still locked.

Any help whatsoever to be found?

Just happened to me too , But i think it's something to do with the Game data on your ps3 . My ps3 ran out of space so i was just deleting the games i don't play and i accidently deleted the patch stupidly . That somehow deleted my downloaded content such as shale and now i can't play on those saves <_< Now all my specializations  are locked, My saves don't  work and i can't sign in to psn to retrieve my downloaded content . GREAT !

Well as long at our PSN profiles still recognize that we have that DLC purchased and downloaded, we should theoretically get it back. Pain in the butt about the specializations but that's what you get for Sony not clearly labeling files on your PS3's HDD.

Hope the PSN is up and running soon so we can fix this!

I can just imagine the dlc Not being on our download list after all this rubbish was going to start arcane warrior as i just unlocked the specialization .. guess that's not happening Made a rogue and gonna try speed through the game to get the specialization's i need . Got spirit healer , templar , beserk , ranger , duelist , and shapeshifter so far . It's LONG.
