I'm sure there are an excessive amount of Flemeth theories and i apologize if anyone thinks this is completely outlandish or has even mentioned it before but i have been unable to find a precident but....has anyone considered that Flemeth is the Dread Wolf of elven lore? Her Chaotic Nuetral role fits the bill rather nicely and although we are not sure of the true extent of her power, she is clearly not a force to be reckoned with....Thoughts?

It's been speculated so very often and is many people's personal head canon.

Flemeth as Andraste.... I like.
No, the Dread Wolf is the Maker - look at all the Dalish stories of Fen'Harel tricking the Creators to remain in the Heavens (demons to the Fade?), the Forgotten Ones to the Abyss (the Old Gods to be buried under the Deep Roads?), then getting bored with the mortal world and going "elsewhere". It seems to fit nicely.

Maker as the Dread Wolf is cooler. Flemeth? I prefer the idea that she is an old god.

Yeah, Flemeth most probably is an Old God...because if she was the dread wolf I believe that she would be shapeshifting to wolf a bit more often. But that's just me.

Leliana is the reincarnation of Andraste.
Explains her resurrection...
I do believe Flemeth is an old God in hiding.
And the Maker being the Dread wolf I consider very possible.

I think lelianas death is something only a few people encounter as its a rather evil choice. Her ressurection can be explained away as a miracle to continue the character in said peoples stories.

We shall see... I do hope Leliana will be given an important role in DA3
I very much agree with this though
Besides Jowan... there's nothing secret about him, he's just a big pansy.

Flemeth - Andraste - Maker - Fen'Harel
I see them all as one. Flemeth being Andraste after this subtle comment:
"Considering what the world has done to me, I have already done more than it deserves."
Andraste being the Maker because of the parallels between it and the christian religion's Jesus/God.
The Maker being Fen'Harel for they are both lone gods who imprisoned evil gods (forgotten/old gods).
That is my rather weak theory on the matter to what Flemeth truly is, take it as you will.

shes obv an old god... she takes the form of a dragon/ every arch demon to have led a blithe was an old god in the form of a dragon.. the tevinter imperium worshiped these old gods who were dragons. flemeth is most certainly one of the old gods.

I actually think it would be great if she really just was a very old woman that talks a lot. And meddles. Being exactly that.
Other than that she's either the G-man or she's playing an elaborate game of "Hero"-mon that Morrigan can cut in on if she walks off with your Warden (and the notorious OGB). With the Divine suddenly wanting in with her Seekers trying to find your peeps. Gotta catch 'em all.

I'd always considered Flemeth an old god... but this new Fen'Harel idea intrigues me and I would like to subscribe to the newsletter~

Old God seems to be the most logical theory, but the Fen'Harel idea has some appeal too. It fits with her personality and motives a little better than Old God, too. All the other Old Gods we know of can't get anywhere near darkspawn without getting corrupted and insane.

If Flemeth were the Dread Wolf I would imagine that she would, in fact, prefer to be shaped like a wolf rather than a dragon. Yes, shes tricksy, but not a wolf. You can't rule anything out but I personally wouldn't bet on it. Feel free to "I told you so!" me if I'm wrong.
Cheers!
Cheers!
