This happened to me as well to where DLC quests like Repentance and Faith (right before or after cutscenes), there will be a loading screen. With Repentance, I was able to use Esc key but as of right now, I am stuck on Faith with this unfortunate loading screen.
Anyone have any suggestions?

Resposting with the SOP.
My computer exceeds the minimum system specifications, I've already tried searching to fix this problem and there wasn't anything helpful. I'm playing with a digitally downloaded version from Origin.Since most people are also having issues with this, I'm thinking its a software issue. If needed, I'll post system details for my computer.
This happens to me only with the new 1.04 patch in DLC quests Repentance and Faith, right before a cutscene will play, I will get a loading screen. Right now, after I have finished the battle with the blood mages in the Keep from the Faith quest, there will be a forever loading screen. Esc key does not work like it did in Repentance.Prior to downloading the new patch, this quest worked fine.

seconning that, altho i managed to get past the first part of the cutscene after the blodmages, but than eternal hang.

due to that i can not continue my nightmare playthrough, regardless of character combination or graphical setting ( vsync window mode etc) it simply hangs , right now it is loading for 3 hours and esc does not help ;/

My wife is suffering this exact issue. Which means I am suffering by proxy. Any work arounds?

OK... Here is how I solved this issue:

Step 1: Follow the instructions here to get the console working on your PC:

http://dragonage.wik...ing_the_console

Step 2: Find theyour first save before the lockup that the console works on, and enter the console command:

runscript zz_seb_debug

followed by hitting the 'enter' key.

Step 3: Use the menu wheel script that comes up to navigate your way to jump to the end of the 'Faith' quest ( something like 'visit the grand cleric').

Step 4: Save after you visit the grand cleric.

Step 5: Get on with the rest of your life.

Once again, same as every other gamer adding a comment in the thread, no one followed the forum instructions in the "Before anything else" sticky. How any of you expect anyone to do any diagnostic procedure is beyond all logic.

Sir, I think you overestimate your status. Those are not the forum instructions, those are your instructions. As there is no 'Bioware' logo above your portrait, your words have little to no weight.

You have no stick and have yet to produce a single carrot.

Yup I've had the same issue as everybody else in this thread in fact unfortunately for me my character who's doing that quest doesn't have a save before entering the building to do it except the auto save where he was doing the Legacy DLC right at the end which really makes me mad...XD LOL. Thank goodness I am also into making new characters and trying new things in this game otherwise I would be really peeved. I'd recommend not doing this quest until they fix it or if you've already accepted it just don't do it. When I had actually accepted this quest with the character I have on DA2 Sebastian was almost completely Friendly like most of my companions so I don't really need to do the quest anyway.

I got pretty excited when I got the chat wheel to pop up, Wildstarz. Unfortunately, after selecting 'Return to Elthina' I get the Loading... thing, and I get no where, again. How frustrating, but was worth a shot!

Same loading problem here. But no fix no one to help with the issue, i had thought that with patch 1.04 there would be no bugs. *sigh*

Nothing Richa advises could have anything to do with this issue; neither temp folder files or background "tasks" or direct x versions. People have tried dx 9, 10, and 11 and there are too many instances of this particular symptom at exactly the same point in the game for it to be an individual system issue. Above all else, don't end any "tasks" unless you want to take a chance on making your system unstable in the future.

So this is still an issue. There are reports of these bugs going back into last year.

Every one of Sebastion's quests provokes an unending "loading..." thing that I ended by hitting escape which skipped the first dialogue scene and left me choosing conversation options blindly to unseen dialogue. I finally hit act 3 and the best I could do was save just after the battle and reload from the point to hear HALF the dialogue before running into the loading issues again.

But I can't hit escape to get past them.

If by any chance, your definition of "real fix" indicates you think that Bioware or EA will release any patch to repair it, that isn't happening.  The game was basically unsuccessful compared to DA: O and to the ME games, it's a year and a half old now, and the 1.04 patch was the end of the line.

Since this bug seems to be caused by patch 1.04, I imagine reinstalling the game and not updating the it would avoid this bug. Although all that hassle to fix a single quest is too much effort for me. Is there perhaps a way to rollback the game to version 1.03 without uninstalling and reinstalling it?

My game keeps crashing on the Faith quest in act 3. I kill the group  of mages that ambush us, and then it always crashes either when the two guys are running up or after a few dialogue choices with Leliana. I haven't had this problem at any other point in the game, I do remember a discussion thread a while ago about the act 2 quest for sebastian having the same problem, but I never experienced it there.  I stopped playing the game a whle ago because of this bug, and I just installed patch 1.02 a little bit ago thinking that might fix it, and i'm still having the same issue.

There have been quite a few message threads on this subject besides this one:

DA2 was basically a place-holder, hardly in the same class as DA:O and the ME games.  It was never very popular, and the summer is an off-season for both Video Game playing and for Message Forums.  There's just no one here answering these things.  If anything similar happened to me playing it, I cannot recall it at all.
