We need a toolset, damnit!

Seriously, there's so much stuff I need to mod. To start with, Gamlen's daughter needs less makeup.

Online petitions never accomplish anything, but I'll sign under principle. Just looking at what the folks over at DA Nexus have accomplished sans toolset, I would be beyond excited to see what they could do with something like an updated toolset at their disposal.

The Nexus is my mecca... I still wish I knew how to extract a Hawke morph from a savegame and use it for an NPC though.

I can work miracles with 3d models. The picture would be complete if I could use toolkit to put them ingame.

I agree with you there, but what the hay. Signed.

Not happenin'.

Good thing nexus didn't dedicate a site for DA2. Some decent morphs, re textures keep flowing but that's about as much as they can squeeze out w/o toolset.

Normally I would support a toolset for any game. But I am really surprise ppl are still interested in investing more time on this title. I still think Bioware should be working on a proper sequel than anything having to do with DA2.

This game really could be more awesome if we could customize it. More people would want to buy it, too.

Well you have my vote.  But the chance of we actually getting one is slim.

Providing a toolset costs money, so providing it for free makes EA lose money.

More importantly, they probably figure that a toolset would reduce the amount of DLCs that they can sell. While the recent Fallout games for example prove that good DLCs can still sell very well, it's probably true that a toolset reduces the amount of sales for the low-quality and short DLCs that BioWare usually creates. And especially DLCs like "appearance packs" or item packs would almost certainly be ignored at least by many PC gamers.

Furthermore, a toolset makes the PC version even more attractive, but they apparently want people to rather buy their games for consoles.

Their games have been so successful. I don't want to hear about their budget because it's all bull. They have plenty of money to update a program they've already built.

Also, I'm sick of hearing about DLC this, DLC that, blah blah blah it's a load of crap.

It may be crap, but I think bjdbwea is completely correct. Sadly.

I've said it before but it's still just as true. DA2 NEEDS a toolset
DA2 suffers from being rushed
a rushed game cannot be fixed by rushed DLC or a rushed expansion
but if BioWare take the time to make quality content, by then most gamers will have already uninstalled and moved on
best way to retain interest while they work on fixing the mess is to give the community a toolset to play with

That's ENTIRELY untrue.

There are bug fixes, ability mods (Giving everyone selected or all skill trees/talents/builds. I for one always wanted Anders to be a Spirit Healer. Additional talents and spells have also been modded), cosmetic mods (Some of the most popular DAO cosmetic Mods have already been ported), the essential "No Gibbing" and "Import Fixes" Mods, Sunnie's essential Weapon and Armor Overhaul Mods, the wonderful "Equip your Companions" (Fully!) and "Different Outfits for your Companions" Mods (By the brilliant Ish!), the Rune Expansion Mod, the "No Restrictions" Mod...and these are just the ones I could recall without checking the Nexus!

Do I want a toolset? YES! *Signed*
